a state political party. christian is joining us from working in the united kingdom . thank you. tool 3 of you for being on inside story today. we appreciate your time, scott. let me start with you in washington dc. as of now, the bite and campaign is projecting confidence that he will remain the nami need, but just looking at the chaos over the last week or so, does this look to you like a campaign that's ready to go out and when to? well, it's a campaign that is very beautiful. what is the way it is a whole nother story. there are the democrats on a top top position. we're 6 weeks from the, from the bmc convention where the nation will be formalized. and it is a campaign, a white house that brought over is fitting out of control. not too much that by law, the fader didn't. yeah. well it's how we did. it was like we're kind of punching the put sensors together or vaults together. when he was very well to do that, it wasn't just as bad as

but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore as well. hopefully, that's not the case, but literally realistic. my based on what my source tell me if it's certainly something that discretion real problem with the buying campaign and why, how do they have not gotten ahead of the story to get ahead of the story. they need to go out and talk to reporters loading just meetings and do another debate that this was just one bad and you don't want to do that. they have so far your heart. and even if you're finally have a real big problem, including a bigger problem, the america has a problem with the race or not. these are last told, so he's going to get it together. he's going to get out of the race. all right, ronnie, your thoughts do you think the president and his team are being candid with the americans about his condition and his ability to leave the country right now? you know, i don't, honestly, i think that this is not

a new situation and i agree with so much of what scott said in regard to this is why it wasn't just one back to bait. it really called into question something that a lot of people across the country myself included, has been asking when the president of the united states takes a stage. we shouldn't be holding our breath and wondering which joe biden, which president binding is going to show up. and that's unfortunately what we've been doing for several months. so no, i don't think they've been honest. i think we saw it play out in the most atrocious setting on a debate stage across from you know, a truth bashes and, and as so many of us have been discussing, it's not just the country, the united states that's being going to be affected us the entire world, and we're, we're seeing these things plant right in front of our eyes. we saw the white house try to downplay it. i tried a gas light as quite frankly. and just like scott said, the only way to deal with something like this is to get him out there to put him on

the stone unscripted without a teleprompter. and unfortunately, i'm just not sure that president biden is capable of doing that. alright, christine your thoughts? what's going on behind the scenes in the democratic party right now, what's your party strategy to control and repair the damage done by present vitamins debate performance? the 1st, if i can just comment on your last guess, she said, you know, he needs to get out there. he does and he will be doing that on friday. he'll be doing a long form interview with, you know, a very prominent news broadcasts are in the us political strategist. so stay tuned . president barton will be doing just what they have suggested he, he should be doing. but you know, well, the democratic party needs to do right now is we need to call out the real elephant in the room. and that is donald trump. donald trump has allowed us to be distracted as a democratic party about we're debating performance. when in his own debate,

he stood on that stage and just spewed a litany of lies that was largely on challenge. and that is as big of a problem and something that should be far more part of the public discourse right now than anything about joe biden. joe biden has a very long track record of accomplishments in just 3 and a half years. he inherited an absolute mess from donald trump, and we are going to get out there and start reminding voters exactly why they didn't like donald trump when he was an office to begin with. and why? if he is to return to the office, he will be not only a threat to democracy in the united states, but it's right to democracy around the world. so key message do not get distracted . that is the message i have delivered to my leaders and my work ization here in the u. k. and to make sure that we accomplish our job of work, which is to appeal to those independence, right. and those last republicans,

kristen, let me ask you how, how is this being viewed in the u. k. and the rest of the world have people express concern to you about the chaos that's the, that's the, you know, we're seeing in the democratic party right now. people concerned about what's happening in america? well, if you, you can't escape the news story is, but the big question i keep getting asked is, why are we talking about donald trump? and that is, i think where we need to start shifting this dialogue quite quickly. we need to talk about his moral character. i mean, the man is a convicted felon for i should be talking about why is it that the republican party doesn't give us a another option. okay, ronnie, a as a democratic strategist, your response to that question says donald trump is distracting the democratic party and that the focus should be more on him rather than been present biden's debate performance or his ability to lead. and i agree that donald trump is a terrifying human being. we've already seen what he's capable of in one

administration. i personally have no interest in seeing what he'll do in executive administration. and which is to me, the reason that we have to act quickly and swiftly to replace the sitting president with a candidate who can be out on the stump and uh, and campaign vigorously, and, and to, you know, the, it's, yes, it's one to be in any other situation, we wouldn't be talking about the atrocious thing, but donald trump said and didn't get to use a wire and a convicted felon. and he from, from the debate stage he said black jobs multiple times, use palestinian as a racial flitter. we wouldn't be talking about all of those things and all the lies . had it not been so terrifying to see that side by side. a president bided next to yes, that convicted felon. and we have a very small window of time to really get it together in the reality is

the president has not, was not doing great in the, in the polls even before the debate. so this is, these are the realities we have to face. and as much as all of us wish we weren't in the situation we, we actually have to do something about it. because again, as we're talking about not just the state of our democracy in the united states and the state of our country. but what's gonna happen in the rest of the world as well? all right. uh, scott, your thoughts about what ronnie at just sit there? is it possible inside for joe biden to step down to have an open convention? uh, you know, when uh, august comes when the democratic convention comes in, what are the issues a legally, with having a democratic candidate, so late in the race? if 5 you were to decide to step down. this is the reality that we find ourselves in saying there are no good decisions or bad decisions. they're just decision that needs to be made and then you go make them right. i really right these,

these issues i have to my are calling from the you can we all agree with you? donald trump is a distraction. adolfo is a convicted felon. he is a he has been found guilty or a mile manager role and sexual abuse. but you got to give the people alternative combined as our alternative is got a great track record, but it 50000000 people have cars because the pay the people, the independent suburban women voters and the people call it was based on the democratic party, the to, oh, no, that's a, that's a good fortune. and so he drives this narrative just as before, but now the 6th day is due. i haven't the story been making some decisions. i'm putting out the show that there's the origin. now the dancing is a 6 weeks right. right. control all of his delegates,

you would have to step down withdrawal and let those delegates go. now. paris is on the status by the president. she would be an extra charge for number. the number was you wouldn't have to release the delegates and you'd have $240000000.00 says debris have gotten there. doesn't have national appeal, hasn't been on the national stage. and that gets more complicated visual challenger . that's all the legal implications of verification change. a decision has to be made now, not later. ok. so that way. all right, and i want to get ronnie and chris and thoughts about who is 5 and where to decide to to drop out of the race. so it could be top of the ticket. but chris, and let me ask you 1st about the conversations that are going on within the democratic party right now, the president and he's in as in a circle, seem to be adamant that he will stay on the ticket. but within the democratic party right now, what are people saying? because we're seeing a lot of mixed messages about what democrats want. do they want to wait for joe

biden to decide that he doesn't want to be part of the race anymore? that he's going to drop out, or is someone else going to be making that decision. what they want is for joe buying to come up strong and show the jo buying that we all know and love. i mean, you have to remember, this is a man who is very well regarded within our party. and he has done a tremendous job since he took office 3 very well resorted. you say question, but they are some voices within the democratic party who was starting to say that, okay, maybe he's not the right candidate for us. and people are entitled to that view. i mean, but the reality is though, is that this party right now, joe buying is on our ticket. we are supporting our candidate and we're proud of the candidates record. we're proud of what he has done for our country, and we are going to stand by him unless he decides himself. but he doesn't want to run in which case. then we have

a whole really impressive list of candidates that couldn't come forward. but the, our bench is our strength. that's where we are also in big contrast with the republican party. they really don't have any one. we've got a long list of p. busy but right now we, our candidate is joe biden, and we're sticking by him. okay, ronnie, of your thoughts, do you think the democrats will continue to stick by, by them, even as, as court said, you know, that the fall out from the debate performance continues to grow. there's this interview on abc on friday that everyone is keeping a close eye on uh about how he performs there. do. how does he change the narrative between now and a convention if he wants to stay as the democratic nominee? for each tier, 1st question, i think we're seeing every day just last night we had another sitting member of the democratic caucus and the in the house called for president finance. and step aside, obviously we saw like congressman like dog yet do the same. just

a couple of days ago, i think these conversations are ongoing, and i think we're going to see more of that in the coming days. yes. you're right we everybody is sort of holding our breath a bit to see the interview with george stephanopoulos tomorrow evening. and prime time, but the reality is it, even if he, i said this to a colleague just yesterday, even if he gets a cold or has allergies or some re either one of the realities of just being out in the world happens. he doesn't have that luxury anymore because of exactly what we saw. and so i do think these conversations are happening and growing behind closed doors. i think they're going to come out in public even more in the coming days. i do think the president has a responsibility to this country and again to the world to, to do what's right to do what's right for, for all of us. he's not doing well. and as we all know, the president of the united states is probably the hardest job in the entire world

. not to mention the campaign that goes along side it and we cannot have again a fascist out there holding for rallies a day. lying and telling all of these untruths and have a president who can't get out on the trail with that same energy. and in that same commitment, not that he doesn't have that commitment but, but we just, we can't have that contract. it's not how the numbers weren't good before the debate on thursday, and they haven't been getting any better sense. okay, scott, before we talk about the planned be options for the democrats. do you think they wait for joe biden to decide to drop out of the race or, or are we going to see maybe the donors to be the ones making that decision as well? so now you have some democratic congressman, the call rims is step down. the donors are talking now make a sizable dollar to the gmc and all the buying and finance team and,

and get the dollar to start to walk away. they're watching the money. they've got $240000000.00 in the bank, but the dollars the larger dollars continue to give this dollars if you will, the polling. so we need those answers real quick. i had rid of my colleagues from you. okay. bye. who's got the record and i'm about to heidi, but if you can't get it, you can't get it done and that's a reality. so the interview as a form, right? you've got the par, but then you've got to do some town hall meetings and some be are actually the press free style is the young people say here in the u. s. and he cannot afford to swear he cannot afford to get because he's the, he's the baby. so can look at all that. i see that he won't be able to do it. you're right, right. he might not be able to do that. you got to give him a chance that'd be in the next week or so or the following. cause i have a 6 to 10 points down the decision making time for that will leave us with 5 weeks

. and now you're going to have home discussions. what have you used to do better decision as to whether it's the same, the product here by stepping down or come in play around as medical conditions so that we can all make some type of yeah, typical assessment online should be my own lies on the polls as you see, and whether or not undecided voters will actually, you know, move to trump or, or stick with binding. no, go with bite. and let me ask you scott about plan b for the democrats. some names have been floating as a possible replacement for bite, and if he were to side, you were to decide to, to drop out of the race. come of the highways, gavin, you, some of the california governor gretchen, which whittemore as well how or african american vote is going to feel is kind of the highest the vice president is not the top of the ticket. well, she's the one. she's been in criminal, vice president despite her calling numbers being matched

a well by bare with young people, very popular with ad hoc portion is very popular with people in motors of color as well for meredith, i guess before. but i can tell you this, that she's not the, not really cuz she's entitled to it as a number to then they're going to be some problems. you know that she does not know what she moves out to find the size or to just step down is that she helps him. she helps the ticket when boulders of color women and our portion as and young people to the groups that have a band in or left by the support of, of buying a lot of different reasons. she shores that up quite a freight and they come back and that's the coalition big donald trump before she to steal the banner. she so she was smart. we were in the car to do the same time. i know her, she's a brilliant woman, has been been rehabilitation. and so yeah, i think that was the american motors for sure. if i, if she's fast or

change, the other issues then within the latino community itself, what about the i can even send you an estimate that the guy who don't wish to be so disappointed again that the binding administration's policies in the middle east. yeah, absolutely. and not as a 1st generation palestinian america. okay. and that was the very next thing that was going to say, she does have an opportunity to co last all of our communities to bring us together to say, listen, i respect the parent. obviously, she's not going to say anything against the president, but she has a very unique, very important opportunity to truly bring all of our communities together in an, in, not just a beautiful way, but it's incredibly important way. and she might be one of the only people that's being discussed right now who has that opportunity. but again, it's not just going to happen that advocacy is not just gonna say ok, she's our tech, and it's just going to magically, you know, occur. she's going to actually have to do the work and bring these voices and bring

these folks into the room and give some assurance that is because there have been some very deep disappointment before that debate performance before a lot of things that have happened just in the recent months, there been a lot of frustrations, right? the 2nd restriction with this president. okay, chris and uh, let me get your thoughts on that plan. be for the democrats, if they were to be a plan b, where present binding in a couple of days or weeks before the convention decides that he doesn't want to run, he will drop out of the race. then we have an open convention of course, who could waiting for them across a dozen, or as i said before, for stuff, it's a complete hypothetical. joe biden is our candidate. but should he choose to step down our bench string is really the party strength. we have diverse candidates everywhere, but i want to specifically talk about couple of harris. i agree with my colleague in washington. she is but nominal. she is marked. she is something that is a really energetic force within our party. and she has been given such

a hard time. she's the 1st woman to ever hold that vice president office. and you know, anyways, why do you think has been given such a hard time sheet? it has to be say, she hasn't been very popular as a vice president. a lot of people, a lot of americans would say, what has she done, but you know what, what do you think it's, it's the case because she's a woman. i honestly do think that she is getting a hard time because there are people who want to see for fail and you know, what, as a woman myself, i think that's a losing strategy for those people who, you know, have really made it their mission to disparage her throughout the last 3 and a half years. she is, i have met her personally. she is engaging, she's born, she's bought full and you know, i think it is high time the weeds. if we really start to look at what she brings to the table. i do not know one single thing, but any vice president has ever done in the course of our history. other than
