now been detected and sewage, at least 17 people are children across fund modesto. as demonstrators call for a complete shut down of the country, the we are just hours away from the highlights of the republican national convention. when donald trump will formerly accept the parties nomination as it's u. s. presidential candidate over the past 4 days republican seemed to have built up a wave of momentum on delivering a message of unity from speech in milwaukee will be his 1st public comments since he survived that assassination attempt at a raleigh just 5 days ago. well, mr. trump has reportedly written his own speech following the shooting. that talks of, of uniting america. while trunk will be taking center stage,

joe biden has been forced to step back from campaigning in the public after testing positive for cobra 19 is now isolating in his home state of delaware. but the diagnosis leads fine increasingly politically isolated as well. with senior democrats continuing to voice their concerns about his health and his age. and we will have more on calls for president vine to step aside shortly. restart in milwaukee at the republican national convention. heidi so castro is with trump supporters. but 1st, let's go to our fisher, who's at the convention in milwaukee allen. you've been there on the convention for he's passed a couple of days. anticipation is building all eyes on the former president. trump, who is expected to momentarily step out on that stage. give us
2:03 am
a preview. what should we be watching for? well, the whole, the whole is filling up a lot quicker than it has been over the last few days. donald trump will speak around 9 o'clock, which is 3 hours in peak time. on american television, it will be a huge the anticipated speech, not least because these are really his 1st public remarks. his 1st major event since that assassination, to attend on saturday. i just say we're being told that donald trump is right to possibly speak to the self. he would write all of it, but he has been, we are told, affected by what happened, that he wants to put his own past, the reflection on it. he wants to tone down some of the rhetoric he wants to be perhaps a what that is being used as more spiritual, i guess this republican party and this hall is very much united. but you've got to remember that the last us president, before donald trump, who was the republican,
2:04 am
is here, of course, is george w bush, the last person who won the nomination before donald trump mitt romney is here. deluxe. the presidential candidate under mitt romney? paul ryan isn't here, and also mike pins, the vice president under donald trump is here. so while the say the are a broad tent, it's really only if you agree with donald trump that that brought 10 a when they believe that they have got momentum from this. this was always the argument from the republicans coming into wisconsin, that they would have a great convention, and this would be essentially ground 0 for taking back the white house. they've had a bit more luck then they would have expected with that very poor performance of fuel biting and not presidential debate exactly 3 weeks ago. tonight, a number of legal wins for donald trump and then of course, him escaping the assassins bill it. but the question for the republicans and the
2:05 am
question for donald trump, what he makes that speech in the next couple of hours is can he reach be on this whole he will get a warm reception rep to assist section from the people here in milwaukee. but can he reach those swing voters in those crucial states that are going to really decide this selection? of course, he will also tell them to expire on the bike and the hottest administration a given the circumstances coming 5 is perhaps not the best bass. he will certainly criticize the bite and how does administration? because really, at this stage, the republicans still on entirely sure that it will be a bite and from face off in november. if the reports that you'll find is considering pulling out are true and it could well be that he is facing couple of holidays come november. all right. and when you and disappeared of my follow up question, in terms of what you know, what some of the new questions donald trump will have to face when he takes to that stage up momentarily. let me ask you about this. you know,
2:06 am
this is the 4th and final day of the republican national convention. what would you say says this convention apart from all the other ones as well. there's not a great deal that actually does. i mean, the atmosphere in which is being held is different because of course the speaker after speaker is pointed out. this could have been a much different convention, had donald trump moved his head just a few millimeters to the right. and this would have been completely different. and so to a degree, because of that, and that iconic image of donald trump, immediately after the shooting, with his face claims raised in the air and shouting, fight, fight, fight, sadly, change the spirit of those who were turning up. but it will be interesting to see the tone that donald trump strikes because go back to 2016, the last big convention of this kind before cove. it. he painted a very dark view of america and said only he could fix it. and of course,
2:07 am
4 years later we were in to cove it and so it will be interesting to see the tone and we're told it will be different. but just to point out, we've been told before that donald trump's tone would be different. we were told in 2016 as we gather, didn't ohio for the convention, that will be a different donald trump. he will be more presidential. and that never happened. so you should take all this, talk about a different tone from donald trump, with a degree of sole. i'm will actually see what happens on that stage in about 2 hours time in about 3 hours time and you'll be there for us to allen official reporting. thank you so much, alan. let's stick you know to how to use so cost or who is also add to the milwaukee convention and she's standing outside heidi. what are you picking up from the delegates, the people at the convention that you spoke to? what jumped out at you the p layla. so i am actually outside of the building where alan is speaking to us from an outside
2:08 am
here. it's almost f. their likes, festive, added to their people, for greeting each other. there are restaurants that's going to be a watch party behind me at this restaurant. there's games, but above so there is in susie as um and there's excitement to hear from donald trump himself. but i'm joined by 2 delegates from connecticut. jim, we'll start with you. thank you so much for your time. we were just saying how trump is expected, potentially, to strike a different, different tone to not one that is more about unity. is that something you're hoping to hear about slowly it's, it's time for us to really just get united as a party in the country and just make us the greatest country that the world have ever seen. and we can do that behind donald trump is, is this something that you've been hoping for for a while? we know that obviously he had a, a life altering experience when he survived that as this nation attempt on saturday . and that may have been a reason why we're about to hear a different potentially different donald trump. but is this
2:09 am
a moment that you think the country sort of needed in this sense of seen a more toned down version of the corner present? i do believe i was hoping for for a while, and i, i've told a few other people, let's hope that something good comes from something bad. and just, you know, we can disagree, we can argue, but at the end of the day, we can still have a fair together. and it's just my idea of where we all want the same goal. want the best for our family and for our country. and ultimately, for the world, it's just how we get there. we disagree on what we don't forget physical or violent about. thank you so much in and by the way, the hat i, we love it. it's course for the elephant that represents the republican party, which is really reflective of the move, but i want to move on to your friend bill billed. i know a lot of republicans today telling us that this is the year. not only do they believe that trump will win, but that the republican party will grow its face because there's a lot of opportunity to be seized here. can you describe that feeling? i think it's exciting, i so because we're at a big 10 party,
2:10 am
i mean we take people of all nationalities, all gender, all the origins. and inside you can see there's a lot of different folks. so i've, this is my 3rd eventually, and i've seen more women at this convention than the previous 2, which is fantastic. and you can see on the screen that mr. trump is somber. i mean, i think he had a life altering moments and i think tonight will be about unity. and we had nikki haley and we had roger santas, 2 of our, his former adversaries here, promoting him because they want what's best for the nation. and it's good just seats, all republicans color less around each other and not be divisive. and if we could set that example, that's what we want for the country, you know, and the tone, the rhetoric has to stop on both sides. and, you know, together i think would be a stronger nation when america stronger the world benefits to. and to contrast that
2:11 am
to what we're seeing on the democratic side, we know, of course, that know that president biden is recovering from cobit in isolation. and that there are more more calls now from democrats for him to step aside. how do you see that as an opening, potentially for republicans? well, we sympathize with the bite and family and we pray for a speedy recovery. you know, we've seen a cognitive decline, which is unfortunate as the debate serves the democrats to now everybody's coming after him and they want him out and that's for them to decide, you know, in chicago and whatever happens, it's going to happen. and i don't think that the president by president trump really cares who it is because he's looking for getting the country back where it used to be with low inflation, you know, low grocery prices,
2:12 am
affordable housing. there's so many things that he did, he did that seem, we've gone backwards and if you ask anybody, are you better off 4 years ago or 4 years? you know, today than most people would say for years adults. so thank you so much bill now. absolutely, thank you for sharing your thoughts and i know especially you're trying to get in as fast as you can in order to get those seats here from the former president. so again, such a jovial, really attitude here outside of the public and national convention as are waiting. finally hear from former president trump layla. right side is our customer. thank you so much for that, very enlightening. and let's welcome. now john syria, he's a republican strategist and a former congressional aide, and he joins was also from milwaukee sir, a warm welcome to al jazeera, big night for republicans to nominate. and star of the show for present donald j. trump will take to the stage momentarily. what are you anticipating?
2:13 am
what will you be watching for to the well 1st of all, i'm in. i'm waiting for a very excited to energize crowd that loves donald trump. and i think i can say that almost every republican in this building is excited to see donald trump on the stage. they're excited. see what he's going to say. and i think they expect a different speech because he said there's a be a different speech. and then one thing we know about down probably is always keeps his promises. i think you'll see something from the heart from him. i thought what? when jenny vance gave a speech yesterday, it was very good. lots of biographical information. i think you'll see donald trump kind of echo a lot of those themes about trying to help the forgotten middle class. and i expect him to be very excited about this about this convention. and you know, frankly, i think it's been a very good convention for donald trump and uh, i think republicans are energized as energizes. i've seen them and i've been
2:14 am
a 8 republican conventions. there are definitely energized and, and, and their writing. this made this momentum at the moment and as things stand right now, the publish is very confidential victory for still are still ways to go until november or the picking to soon that's a really good question. i hope not. i know you're absolutely right. we still got a lot of time, we still don't actually know who the democratic nominee is going to be. we were everybody. every reporter i'm talking to, they want to actually cover the democrats 9 right now because it's much more interesting story. so i think what republicans need to do is focus on running their own race, running against wherever the best candidates of the democrats could split up. try to expand their base plan, expand their majority, and excite and other party. you're absolutely right. so there's a lot of time left. there's a lot of things that go wrong. her father, again, i think it's pretty optimistic for i also think it's good to be very energized and
2:15 am
cautiously optimistic because you can never tell what's gonna happen for 4 months, right? we just don't know what, so still coming. you know what we're going through this like split screen moment for time, you know, the republican convention wrapping up, you know, as you said, and as many have echoes, you know, it's filled as a success. in stark contrast, of course, with a democratic party incomplete disarray. how is the rolling course for president biden's exit the res impacting trumps campaign? uh well you, they, they were ready to run a campaign against the go button. and they had all the ads ready to go get the job . i'm, i think ultimately what they're going to run against is the conditions that happened with the joe biden presidency. they're gonna run out of immigration like i run a crime, especially going to run on the academy. and they're gonna say that they can do
2:16 am
a lot better. and so i think the message is kind of ready to go, no matter who's going to be the democratic nominee, i think a smarter for the republicans kind of pivot off of job. i'm being too old to actually go by not being good enough. and his philosophy not being good enough to make america great again. and i think that ultimately, you know, you have to gotta be ready for any contingency and running your own race. because if you don't run your own race and just wait for the democrats to make their decision, you know, you never know. and 1968, we had a huge problem with the democratic convention and mix it was able to figure out a way to run against fewer outbreak. this kind of was a vent free. so we might see history repeating itself. all right, so john syria, republican strategist, thank you so much for talking to us. my pleasure. us right now, are us present joe, by and the as we reference to, is facing growing calls from within his own party to step aside from the

presidential race. while on increasing number of top democrats are worried about his ability to the to beat trump in november's election where us media is reporting the former house speaker, nancy pelosi has told us some democrats that she believes it can be convinced to exit the race suit. and for the present, brock obama has told allies biden's chances of beating, trump greatly diminished and are my talent reports from washington. the news from president biden's vacation home in delaware, where he's recovering from cobit, is that he's doing fine. he has some respect. republican says his doctor, but his temperature is said to be normal, but while he is in isolation, imposed by cupboard is also to a degree in a form of political isolation. several reports indicate that the amounting calls for the president to step aside from the upcoming election. the most recent coming

from jenny ruskin, a call, a representative from maryland who has released the letter cooling on the president, the step down. the letter was written some 12 days ago, but it was only made public in the course of the day. uh, congressman adam shift has also called for bite and to step down. and that was in an editorial. however, one must separate the speculation from the reality here in all some 20 democratic members of congress as cold for biden, to step down, the boss bulk have remained silent on the issue of party leaders have remained actually silent as well. and we've also heard from probably the most powerful democrats, and that is for my president rock obama. he has said that the only person who can decide whether or not joe biden steps down is joe biden himself, mike kinda, i'll just sarah washington. and so have here on algae 0, crossing the desert to find safety port on the rice and people smuggling across to

because normally, if you have a case of polio, you're going to isolate something, you're going to make sure that they use the bathroom that nobody else uses that they're not in close proximity to other people. that's impossible. you have everybody blustering and refugee caps at the moment without vaccines for, for at least the past 9 months, including children who would have otherwise been vaccinated for polio. and adults who, in and in the setting of an outbreak should receive a booster, including health care workers. if health care workers are exposed to high rates of polio and end up contracting disease, that's also catastrophic for a health care system that's already been. i annihilated by direct targeted by adoptions of health care workers like killing of health care workers. and it's just, you know, a ticking time bomb. and we're just talking about polio when you have polio is, is a symptom of or a sign of something greater,
