it must have been priceless. absolutely. people loved him. that is because of the way he was. the true greats combine the great ability with great humility, and that was bobby. his humble approach made him approachable and everybody loved him for that reason. whenever i went around the world, people would want to talk about him, i think it is because they represented something to people right around the world, the idea of what the english footballer could be, the footballer gentleman. he was a gentleman giant of this city, at the club, of course, but also the country. he ke -t course, but also the country. he kept manchester united on the map, but he threw himself into the charitable causes. he threw himself behind manchester 0lympic charitable causes. he threw himself behind manchester olympic bid, the commonwealth games of 2002. he loved

this city, he took greatjoy and manchester united doing well, but he did his bit for the city, as well. oh, he did. he took the city to his 0h, he did. he took the city to his heart but the city took him to a head start. he has brought north—eastern roots and we know that is, but i think in the end this city very much became home. he was revered here. ijust think he represented the right way of doing things. it was just somebody who did things. it was just somebody who did things in the right way and always had that humility about him. i think thatis had that humility about him. i think that is why so many people looked to sir bobby and saw in him somebody who represented the right way of doing things. find who represented the right way of doing thinqs-— doing things. and representing manchester — doing things. and representing manchester united _ doing things. and representing manchester united for - doing things. and representing manchester united for the - doing things. and representingj manchester united for the best doing things. and representing - manchester united for the best part of 70 years, from a 15—year—old. it just seems incredible. the club must hold onto that legacy because he was a constant threat from a different era. ., ., . a constant threat from a different era. ., .,y , ., a constant threat from a different era. ., ,., .,

manchester united captain, for his memories of sir bobby. it is a sad day for the family, for manchester united, but also for football because it was a fantastic player. for a player to win the world cup, when the champions league and have such a long and successful career, you have got to be a fantastic player to be able to achieve that. but sir bob wasn'tjust a great player, he was a great person. had time for everybody. the charity work that he did. then even to encourage kids with this doctor school which he ran for years. he had time for everybody and wanted to help everybody. i can remember when i firstjoined the club i was a record signing at the time, sir bob was the first one after it signed the contract to come across to me and
