most times and i'm sure thatjurgen klopp wants to add another bit of silverware to the cabinet here at anfield as well. the beauty of this competition is the fact that you can get it done and dusted in february, put it to bed, then concentrate on other competitions further down the line. so the incentive for both liverpool and west ham united is to get to the last four and joined chelsea, fulham and middlesborough. and liverpool have a huge game against arsenal, but arsenal are the team west ham beat to get to the stage. so they'll know that despite their poor record anfield over the years, they actually smell the last four just as years, they actually smell the last fourjust as much? it’s years, they actually smell the last fourjust as much?— fourjust as much? it's a poor record, fourjust as much? it's a poor record. only _ fourjust as much? it's a poor record, only one _ fourjust as much? it's a poor record, only one win - fourjust as much? it's a poor record, only one win and - fourjust as much? it's a poor record, only one win and 55 l fourjust as much? it's a poor - record, only one win and 55 visits that goes back to the 1960s. so that's something they'll want to change, and david moyes won't need reminding that he's not actually one at anfield in 20 previous visits as manager. i think they'll take a good

speak to any striker, they'll tell you that's the time to worry when you're not getting the chance is. so i have no doubt that he will put those changes away, and also what the liverpool supporters appreciate is his work rate and the effort that goes to the team, as well. he's a foil for others, goes to the team, as well. he's a foilfor others, i think darwin nunez is one of those players that's very much a team player, and it's only a matter of time before he finds the back of the net again. whoever wins at anfield willjoin middlesbrough, fulham, and chelsea in the semi finals — with the latter*s win over newcastle soured by an incident involving a chelsea fan running onto the pitch and appearing to confront keeper martin dubravka. 0ur correspondent andy swiss is with me. andy, this camejust after a late goal — can we expect any developments? that's right, for anyone who didn't see last night's game, it's worth going through a precise sequence of events. newcastle were leading 1—0 into stoppage time when chelsea equalised through makyla modric. but

amid the celebrations that followed his goal, one supporter ran onto the pitch — as you can see, he appeared to barge into martin dubravka, the newcastle goalkeeper. the support it was eventually ushered away, but following that there were lengthy discussions between the referee and the chelsea security staff before the chelsea security staff before the penalty shoot—out which chelsea went on to win. but the big talking point after the match was what happened with that spectator. both managers set after the game they were concerned by what happened. of course i'm disappointed and i don't _ of course i'm disappointed and i don't agree with this type of thing that happened here. i saw it happen and another stadium in england. i'm always— and another stadium in england. i'm always disappointed with this type of thing _ always disappointed with this type of thing because i think it's a danger, _ of thing because i think it's a danger, and i hope it doesn't happen again _ i've always said the safety of players. _

against stjohnstone tonight at ibrox — where we can speak to jane lewis. jane, rangers can eat away at celtic*s advantage. yes, this is a massive opportunity for rangers this evening at ibrox. not only would a win this evening against stjohnstone extend what's been an impressive winning streak for them, five games, they've won the last five games, but also as you say, it'll move them closer to the top of the scottish premier league, closer to the top of their old firm rivals celtic. they would narrow the gap two points, so the title race would be very much back on if rangers can win against stjohnstone this evening. i must say that post rangers and celtic have games before they meet at the end of the month. now assuming either team slip up, what an old firm derby that could be, but plenty at stake at that one and a way to end the year. of course if rangers get the win this evening, you'd fancy their chances, they've beenin you'd fancy their chances, they've been in really good form under their

of the cloud that's streaming in from the atlantic — and is continuing to bring some rain and drizzle mainly to western hills and coast. those strengthening westerly winds are drawing in mild air, mind you, around the top of that area of high pressure. but it's that deep low that's moving away from iceland that'll track to the north of scotland, and then, into scandinavia that will really strengthen the winds around it — and that's been named storm pia by the danish weather service. so overnight tonight, the winds continuing to strengthen. it'll be a noisy night, particularly in this heavy rain in scotland — that will move down into northern england and northern ireland. replaced by squally showers, slight change in the wind direction, the air gets a bit colder in scotland. but elsewhere, those temperatures not changing very much from what we've seen during the afternoon. but it will be a windy day everywhere on thursday, the strongest of the winds further north. we could see higher gusts over into the east of high ground, and the top gusts of 70—80mph in the north and northeast of scotland, so very windy here. now, we still have this cloud

and increasingly patchy rain that'll move southwards to southern england. it'll be replaced by sunshine, but streams of squally showers coming in, and some wintriness over the hills in scotland. things are turning a little bit colder here, but we've still got that milder air across the far south — temperatures 12—13 celsius. now, as the storm tracks further into scandinavia, we get this surge of stronger winds just for a while down those north sea coasts. we still have that weather front there, and that's the boundary between this milder air that's trying to push back northwards across the uk, and the colder air that's still particularly in scotland. and along that boundary, we've got this area of rain here. now south of it, in the milder air, there's still a lot of cloud, but maybe some sunshine. in the colder air, mainly in scotland, there'll be some showers. wintry over the hills, but to lower levels across the far northeast, the northern isles, where it's particularly cold. milder elsewhere, but not quite as windy on friday.
