guidance underlies that health care workers have no general obligation to report a crime to police and that rather they have a professional duty to maintain a patient�*s �*s confidentiality and that if they do not that, they can be —— there can be disciplinary action. the guidance is that if a health care worker suspects there has been a late abortion, they should not call the police, give information to the police, give information to the police, take blood tests or other examples for police, and where women agrees to information being shared with the police, the health care worker should ensure that women have not been pressurised to do that. the reason is guidelines have been published by the royal college and others is because there has been big concern amongst doctors, health care workers about a sharp rise in the numbers of women who have been investigated by police in the 160 years since the abortion act, and
