we meet faye rogers on the brink of her first paralympics in the pool hello again. for erik ten hag today, it was case closed on marcus rashford. for those journalists at the manchester united manager's press conference, that remained very much more of an open question. the forward didn't play in their fa cup game on sunday after reporting ill for training two days prior. the two days before that, he was reportedly seen on a night out in belfast. six of the first seven questions to ten hag were about rashford, who the club say has taken responsibility for his actions and is back in training ahead of their premier league trip to wolves tomorrow. but the dutchman was determined to move on despite the best efforts of those present. inlcuding the bbc*s simon stone.

for a game, personally i don't think we do given the way he's plain at the moment, so i don't think he should come back tomorrow. that's part of the scrutiny erik ten hag is under, and i caught up with our football reporter simon stone after the press conference held by the manchester united manager today. and he told me how ten hag dealt with all the rashford questions. clearly there is an issue there with marcus rashford, it's clearly there is an issue there with marcus rashford, its three times now in 13 months, that he has had to deal with issues surrounding rashford, and i am sure he would prefer not to have to do it, but it is hisjob to prefer not to have to do it, but it is his job to attend the press conferences and hisjob is his job to attend the press conferences and his job to answer questions from the media. that doesn't mean to say that she has to answer them way the media want, but thatis answer them way the media want, but that is where we ended up today. you mention it has happened before with marcus rashford, it is happened with other players i'm a is there a discussion about how he has decided to deal with each player, perhaps differently, there are players who

6:37 pm
because if manchester united finish where they are now doesn't look for him good at the end of the season as jim ratcliffe is deciding the way forward, so he needs marcus rashford in the way he was in last season, not how he will is this season, he needs marcus rashford to score goals and be effective in games and help manchester united win games. so as simon said, one of the reasons manchester united need marcus rashford is that they're not anywhere near the business end of the premier league table. right now, these are the teams calling the shots in the title race. arsenal won last night to put themselves between first and third, with liverpool and manchester city both playing tonight. and could this moment be crucial when we look back in may? jurgen klopp takes charge of his first league match since announcing this season will be his last while manchester city have erling haaland back after nearly two months out injured. to the etihad in a moment, but first football correspondent john murray is with chris sutton

winds across northern areas of scotland today. and with those severe gales came some pretty big waves pummeling the coastline of shetland. but it wasn't shetland where the strongest winds in this storm were. no, they were in the core of storm ingunn and that runs straight across the faroe islands to our northwest. now, landsverk is the public authority that runs the infrastructure in the faroe islands. they reported a gust on one of their weather stations of 155 mph. in relatively well sheltered torshavn, we had a top gust of 120 mph there in the capital of the faroe islands. thankfully, those really powerful winds stayed well away from our shores. we had a top gust of 75 in lerwick and not far behind that in the highlands and the hebrides. now, overnight tonight we've got a band of rain, a cold front pushing southwards across england and wales, bringing some rain that will clear later in the night. and with clearing skies and lighter winds, one or two mist and fog patches possible, there's also likely to be one or two patches of frost around as well as we head into the first part of thursday.
