along the line of this weather front. notice this front wriggles back out into the atlantic — another pulse of rain to come through tuesday night and into wednesday. but in the short term, the first piece of that weather front, if you like, lingering across parts of southeast england. some clouds, some spots of rain, and then that next pulse of wet weather pushes in across the southwest of england later on. but elsewhere, early cloud will break up to give some spells of sunshine, just the odd rogue shower and feeling very mild, even warm with highs of 17 celsius. but through tuesday night, here comes the rain, pushing its way northwards and eastwards. we might hold on to something a little bit drier and clearer towards the southeast corner and certainly up towards the northwest of scotland, where it will be cold to start wednesday morning. could even be some fog patches here, but mild further south and east. and for many, quite a soggy starts to wednesday. these outbreaks of rain just moving northwards and eastwards as the day wears on.

i think the skies will tend to brighten in many places. we will see some spells of sunshine developing, particularly towards the southeast of england, where it will feel very warm indeed at 17 celsius, but also for northern ireland and western scotland. here, though, a somewhat chillier feel to the weather. briefly, a ridge of high pressure will build, but that won't last long. we see this next weather system bringing wet and windy weather, particularly across the north of the uk during thursday. and as that clears for friday and into the weekend, well, the winds change direction and start to come down from the north, and that will make it feel significantly colder. temperatures on the thermometer lower than they have been, could even see some wintry showers over higher ground in the north. but factor in the strength of the wind, the wind chill is going to make it feel really very cold indeed. and those chillier conditions extend all the way south across the uk for the weekend.
