the season's final week. arsenal are back on top after they beat manchester united 1—0 at old trafford. a game that ended in torrential rain began with a first half leandro trossard goal that proved to be the winner... and it was enough for arsenal to go a point clear of manchester city although they have played a game more... with city's match in hand against arsenal's north london rivals spurs on tuesday the players have a huge price, most of them they haven't been in this position. they don't know what it is and what is the stake and how you feel emotionally to go and having to win and win and win since december orjanuary, you know, and come to this place. they go to the spurs and play again, it's a phenomenal thing that they are doing right now, and we just have one of the most beautiful days ahead of us in front of our people, our families at the emirates and we hope we can do it. how will you watch tuesday,

the tournament for the fourth time in his career — his 26th pga title - and setting him up nicely for next week, and the second major of the year, the uspga at valhalla in kentucky. novak djokovic suffered a surprise, and heavy defeat at the italian open, but he's suggested that could be partly because he was accidentally struck on the head by a spectator�*s bottle on friday. the world number one is apparently �*concerned', and will need medical tests despite showing up to practice on saturday mocking the incident by wearing a bicycle helmet. djokovic was beaten 6—2 6—3 injust 67 minutes by chile's alejandro tabilo in rome. the six—time champion committing 22 unforced errors, serving five double faults and failing to create a single break point. yesterday was pretty fine. so i thought, you know, it's ok, but maybe these are ok. maybe it's not.

i mean, the way the way i felt on the court today was just completely from, it's like a different player entered in my shoes, you know, it's just no rhythm, no tempo, no balance whatsoever on any shot. so it's a bit concerning. in the women's draw, danielle collins booked her place in last 16 with a 6—3, 6—3 victory over caroline garcia. it's a career—best in rome for the american who has lostjust one of her last 18 matches. she will face irina—camelia begu in the next round. there was an exciting finale to this year's badminton horse trials, which had a particularly influential showjumping phase. the winner, new zealand's caroline powell achieved one of only two clear rounds, to move up from sixth place and clinch the biggest prize in eventing. lizzie greenwood—hughes was there for us. well, this has just been the most extraordinary badminton. it went right down to the wire. all three phases of this equestrian triathlon have been influential. and the showjumping, the final part was particularly so only to clear rounds, one of them by this

won that trophy and yet you managed to hold it together. what was going through your mind? well, we were lucky enough that year we were down in sixth. so the pressure is isn't as great as when you go under the lead. so, you know, for her to jump around, its well within the capabilities. and, you know, she came good for us today. well done caroline, you've won bali. now you've won badminton. you've done the two big ones. huge. congratulations. go and enjoy it. thank you very much. so caroline powell from new zealand, the winner of this year's badminton second place, went to an extraordinary young irish rider called lucy latta. she's not even full time. she's only got one horse. she came second. she could have won it if she'd gone clear. but sadly, she had a fence down and britain had third place with alexander brack. so it's been, as i say, an extraordinary badminton, very exciting, a little bit unusual in the lead up because of all the weather we've had, a lot of riders haven't maybe had the preparation they would have done. we normally would have maybe a briton in the second or third place. but caroline, as i say, for new zealand, is the winner here, this year's badminton.

hello. there were definitely two sides to sunday's weather story. on the one hand, it was very warm. in fact, it looks like it was the warmest day of the year so far. temperatures touching 27 celsius to the west of london, but we saw some really intense downpours and thunderstorms breaking up, especially across western and northern parts of the uk, ushering in a change. low pressure taking charge of our weather through this week, which will bring rain at times, not least across the southwest of england, wales and northern ireland through monday. that rain arriving through the morning and then sticking in place right through into the afternoon. could be enough rain to give some localised flooding and travel disruption, — and under the cloud and rain not feeling particularly impressive — 15 or 16 degrees, but for a good part of scotland, central and eastern parts of england, we will hold on to some sunshine and some warmth, maybe 23 or 2a degrees. in fact, for some north sea coasts, it is likely to be warmer on monday afternoon than it was over the weekend. now, through monday nights, this band of rain will be

moving slowly, northwards and eastwards on what will be a very mild, even warm night, with temperatures holding up at between 9—11; degrees. so, we start tuesday with our area of low pressure still in place. this frontal system wraps around the low, continuing to drive some outbreaks of rain. this time, the rain bands sitting across the south east of england, east anglia, parts of the midlands, northern england, still some further rain to come across northern ireland, and then that rain pulling northwards across scotland. sunny spells and showers following on behind. temperatures broadly 17, 18 degrees, but still up to 20 in the north of scotland. those temperatures still a touch above the average for the time of year, just not as warm as it has been over the last few days. now, this is wednesday's forecast. still a weakening weather front likely to bring rain for a time in northern england. then it's a sunshine and showers day, and temperatures 17—20, maybe 21 degrees. now, our area of low pressure

will still be with us through the second half of the week, but it will tend to loosen its grip, the centre of the low, pulling away southward. so, while there will still be some showers, especially in southern parts, more in the way of dry weather, some spells of sunshine, actually will dry up for some of us as we head into the weekend. and those temperatures still a touch above normal for the time of year.
