the build—up to the euros. and luke littler throws the perfect nine dart checkout on his way to becoming the premier league champion. welcome to the programme, and we're starting with news that the west ham midfielder lucas paqueta has been charged with misconduct by the fa in relation to alleged betting rule breaches. it relates to four games over an 18—month period, where it's alleged paqueta deliberately tried to get a card from the referee in order to influence betting markets. the brazilian has until the third ofjune to provide a response,

although he's already publicly denied any wrongdoing on social media saying — "i will fight with every breath to clear my name." earlier, i spoke to our senior football reporter simon stone. what they said, as you say, in their statement is basically that he's intentionally seeking to receive a card for the purposes of affecting the betting markets in those games in order for one betting markets in those games in orderfor one or more persons to profit from betting on most matches. that is absolutely prohibited under football association regulations. in addition, the fa are saying that he's not complied with another rule, which is to provide information to supply documents, which is

a very kind of dim view taken of players who bet, basically, on matches or instances that they are involved in — either games their teams are involved in or, like this, instances, bookings, that he is alleged to have got an order for people to profit from him being booked and betting on him being booked. we don't know the detail, as i say, he denies it. but if he's found guilty, i suspect the punishment will be quite heavy. that was our football reporter simon stone. meanwhile, west ham have officially appointed julen lopategui as their new manager. the former spain, real madrid and most recently wolves coach has been out of a job since leaving the premier league last year. he agreed a deal with west ham earlier this month and succeeds david moyes, who won the europa conference league with west ham last year.

places will stay dry. temperatures responding, as well — lighter winds, more sunshine, i9 celsius, maybe 20 celsius, in the south, high teens further north. as we head through friday night, it looks like skies will clear pretty widely, so it will turn chillier. just the odd shower across scotland, a bit more cloud here — so i think double figure—values in much of scotland and northern ireland, single figures for large parts of england and wales. so into the bank holiday weekend, it's starting off fine and settled on saturday for most areas, and then, we'll start to see sunshine and showers through sunday and bank holiday monday. we've got this weather front encroaching in slowly during the weekend — but ahead of it, plenty of sunshine around. will be a chilly start, a little bit of mist and fog around. this feature moving in from the continent could bring some cloud and rains east anglia, eastern england, and then, later in the day, this weather front moves its way into southwest england. but plenty of sunshine across the country, just the chance of a shower. a much warmer 20 celsius for many areas, up to 22 in the southeast. now, as we head into sunday,
12:57 am
this weather front starts to cross the country, destabilising the atmosphere. it'll be one of sunshine and showers, i think — and through the afternoon, some of these showers could turn out to be heavy and thundery, some local torrential downpours in places. temperature—wise, because a bit more cloud around and some showers, i think we're looking at highs of 18—19 celsius. and then, through bank holiday monday, again, sunshine and showers — probably the heaviest of the showers on monday will be across the northern half of the country, a bit more of a breeze as well however, there will still be some decent spells half of the country, a bit more of a breeze as well coming in from the west. so, temperatures 16—17 celsius i think for many places. and then, for the upcoming week, i think it stays fairly unsettled — low pressure always close by, showers or longer spells of rain. however, there will still be some decent spells of sunshine at times. take care.
