accepting it. ithink would or could be pressured into accepting it. i think ukraine is very clear on what it wants to achieve. it says that this is about establishing the first steps on a possible path to peace, coming up with a proposal and a plan which could be presented to russia at a second gathering. it is not adverse to that happening in the future, but at this point, these are really the first sketch lines of a possible move towards peace. ukraine is underlining some key things. i spoke to met at the presidential administration a few minutes ago, and he said demi: there were lines. territorial integrity and fundamentals, not giving up up land to russia, not giving up sovereignty or independence. some are very difficult process, the first of moments on the path to potentially some kind of full peace talks in the future.— talks in the future. meanwhile, fiuuhtin talks in the future. meanwhile, fighting continues _ talks in the future. meanwhile, fighting continues on _ talks in the future. meanwhile, fighting continues on the - talks in the future. meanwhile, i fighting continues on the ground. talks in the future. meanwhile, - fighting continues on the ground. at the g7 we had the fact that they are

and over the coming days i think we can start to see keir starmer campaigning and somewhat ambitious seats which is an indication of their confidence and the sense that they can afford to be a little bit more ambitious than they necessarily work going into the campaign. he has, though, based on some challenging questions about what he stands for, about the party's plans around taxation, and particularly about whether he has changed his plans, what he said he would do when he became labour party leaderjill leader compared to what he has put to the country now. he was asking about that by nick robinson for the bbc. we about that by nick robinson for the bbc. ~ ., ., . ., ., ,., bbc. we had to change the labour pa and bbc. we had to change the labour party and drag _ bbc. we had to change the labour party and drag it — bbc. we had to change the labour party and drag it closer— bbc. we had to change the labour party and drag it closer to - bbc. we had to change the labour party and drag it closer to the - party and drag it closer to the countrx — party and drag it closer to the countrx i_ party and drag it closer to the country. i did that having thought lon- country. i did that having thought tong and — country. i did that having thought long and hard about the last four elections — long and hard about the last four elections. we lost in 2010, 2015, 2017. _ elections. we lost in 2010, 2015, 2017, 2019 — elections. we lost in 2010, 2015, 2017, 2019. and i took the view that

parliament. the problem, i think, they had to rule it out for parliament. the problem, ithink, is that they were trying to hold the line and not answer that question directly. the conservatives had another 17 of these potential things that they said labour is failing to rule out in their manifesto. they said that they don't really want to play that game. they had to play that game a little bit on this one. the question kept coming. that is where we are on the tax issue. there is a wider problem here, which is that sir keir starmer was at a hospital and he told us how he plans to pay for these, for example, 40,000 more appointments and operations each week that they are promising if they win the election. he is also promising to transform the nhs, to reform it, to bring the staffing levels up to the highest numbers ever, and he isn't really saying, aside from economic growth, how he plans to pay for that. we are getting step one in the process but we are not really getting told how

steps two, three, four, five, etc are going to be paid for by the labour government. i think that is something that we are going to see persistently put to the labour leader and other labour officials during the last three weeks of the campaign. it is the thing that they don't want to talk about, so it is going to be the thing that they are asked about pretty much across the board. , * ., ., board. gary o'donoghue live from the labour campaign _ board. gary o'donoghue live from the labour campaign bus. _ board. gary o'donoghue live from the labour campaign bus. thank - board. gary o'donoghue live from the labour campaign bus. thank you. - board. gary o'donoghue live from the labour campaign bus. thank you. a l labour campaign bus. thank you. a reminder that you can get more on what labour is saying today, indeed, the other parties are out campaigning as well. full details are available on the conservatives, snp, and liberal democrats, who have all been talking today along with sinn fein. you can find that on the bbc news website or app at bbc dot,. stay with us here in bbc news.
