sea, low pressure still in the north sea, feeding rain into northeast scotland. the rain becomes bright and patchy with sunshine for north—west scotland. the rain in the midlands turning more showery in nature. 23 degrees celsius in london so a whole mishmash of weather around tomorrow and we continue that theme into friday. this area of low pressure could come close enough to the south—east to bring heavy and persistent outbreaks of rain. this area of high pressure is weak but it should bring something a little bit drierfor a time with should bring something a little bit drier for a time with some sunny spells, but the risk of some quite heavy rain is there a south—east england. temperatures are still below average, but whenever the july sunshine comes out, it should still feel 0k. into the weekend lows of showers around on saturday, and on

sunday the probably will be some rain around in northeast england and south—east scotland. still no sign of the rain settling down but it gets warmer next week. thanks, chris. and that's bbc news at six. you are watching bbc news. we will just remind you of the braking as we heard within the six o'clock news and that is that police who have been investigating a triple murder murder in hertfordshire have said they have arrested him and after launching a murder inquiry following the deaths of three women. just last our detectives have issued a statement saying that 26—year—old kyle clifford was found in the enfield area, the statement says he is receiving medical treatment, having been found with injuries, no shots were fired by police. the identities of the people who were

killed have been confirmed. they were 61—year—old carol hunt, and she is, we canjust were 61—year—old carol hunt, and she is, we can just have a look at her image, seen... we don't have her image, seen... we don't have her image show we will bring that to you, but she was the wife of the bbc racing radio commentatorjohn hunt, and you can see that image of them together, and she was killed with her two daughters. they were also killed. they are louise hunt, she was 25 years old of the final victim was 25 years old of the final victim was hannah, who was aged 28. now, all three women were found suffering from injuries at a property in bushey last night, they died at the scene. this afternoon, police and forensic teams began to search an area at the lavender hill cemetery, which is not farfrom bushey, and witnesses report and invalids was in attendance before leaving. —— a ambulance. my colleague nicky

schiller what has been monitoring this at bushey all day. we have had the significant develin in the manhunt, police investing in this triple murder saying they have arrested —— significant development, police investigating this. that arrested -- significant development, police investigating this.— police investigating this. that is ri . ht, this police investigating this. that is right, this news _ police investigating this. that is right, this news coming - police investigating this. that is right, this news coming from i right, this news coming from hertfordshire police in the last few minutes that the 20—year—old suspect they have been hunting for has been captured in the enfield area. the suspect was known to live in the area. the police statement says that he is receiving medical treatment, having been found with injuries. the police don't say what those injuries are, although they do stress that no shots were fired. they also say at this stage, we believe the suspect was known to the victims. you have mentioned the three victims that were found in the property behind me, in this road here in the quiet suburban bushey mac last night at around 7pm in the evening. they were
6:34 pm
the wife of the bbc racing commentatorjohn hunt, who is 61, and two daughters, louise and hannah. the police statement goes on to say that it was of course continuing to be incredibly difficult time for the victims family and we would ask their privacy is respected, as they come to terms with what has happened. we have heard an outpouring of condolences from the racing community tojohn hunt this afternoon. he worked for five live. if you have listened to five life that he commentates on things like the grand national and heidi dawson, the grand national and heidi dawson, the controller of 5live said in a e—mail to staff it was utterly devastating and we have heard other comments from other colleagues he has worked for, both in the bbc and also skysports news offering condolences tojohn. in the
6:35 pm
statement, the detective inspector from the major crime unit says the investigation is moving at pace and formal identification of the victims is yet to take place. she does say the premature naming of potential victims has caused great upset to the family when they should have been given the space to come to terms with their sudden loss, becausejohn hunt works terms with their sudden loss, because john hunt works for the terms with their sudden loss, becausejohn hunt works for the bbc, i think that is one of the reasons why the names of the victims have come out a lot quicker then sometimes in cases like this happen. saying the investigation continues, we have seen those forensic tents that are up by the house and also officers throughout the afternoon have been here, also knocking on doors, talking to local residents, to see what they saw last night. we've spoken to a lot of them. some of them said they heard screams and shrieks at around 7pm in the evening. as i said that's when police came to this suburban street

in bushey and hertfordshire and that is where they found at that time three cyrille injured women. two air and -- air —— aircame, they —— air came, they were trying to save their lives but it was not possible. operations in bushey mac but also that operation in enfield, armed officers seen in the area throughout the day. they visited a property linked to the suspect and this afternoon we saw all that activity around that cemetery in the lavender hill area of enfield, a lot of police going in there, which is when those reports started surfacing that maybe they had found their suspect and then we have had that confirmation that he has. this police statement says, following extensive inquiries, the suspect has been located, and they say nobody
6:37 pm
else is being sought in connection with the investigation at this time. the police also, as you will know, issued an appeal earlier on today, the chief inspector of hertfordshire police coming out and appealing to the public to come forward with any information that they had. obviously saying not to approach the suspect, who they say had a crossbow, but asking for people if they did have any information to come forward, and the police say they have had an overwhelming number of calls and they said he would like to express their gratitude to members of the public who have contacted us, they go on to say, though, we would still appealfor anyone with go on to say, though, we would still appeal for anyone with information or footage please contact police as this could affect the progress of the case. they have set up a special portal on the hertfordshire police website, where people can upload the video. you can see this is a suburban area and a lot of the properties may well have those video

door bells, and i'm sure that police will be looking to see if there is any of that footage, or indeed any cctv that can help them with their investigation, as they try to piece together what happened last night. we know that the suspect is now in custody, but of course that is just the start of the investigation into exactly what happened last night, windows three women were found seriously injured in the property here in bushey in hertfordshire. we've been talking to local people, and you can imagine they have been stunned by this. they say, things like this just don't happen in bushey mac, i , one counsellor telling us they have a bit of fly—tipping in the area and that is probably about it. we spoke to one of the local vickers, who said they will do what they can to comfort people, and i
6:39 pm
know a lot of the local churches have opened up this evening and lit candles and member of the three women who died here, and also throughout the afternoon, you can see 80 behind me, there are some flowers below the actual sign to the property that is here in bushey and at one moment for young woman came along, they were visibly upset, they were holding hands, and left some flowers you can see down there —— four young women. another lady came along and she was visibly upset, leaving those flowers, we had a look at one of the messages that were left on the cards. it said, i wish none of this happened, i wish i could hug you all, tell you how much you meant to me, so one of the nose that was left on the flowers, obviously people in this area did know the hunt family of a john hunt of course, as we have said, a bbc racing commentator, but also we
6:40 pm
understand that the two daughters did work, one of them locally, in the area, so people will know of them, and of course have been bringing flowers to express their condolences. but the news we have had in the last half an hour is that suspect, kyle clifford, who has been sought by police in connection with this triple murder investigation, has been captured. he was captured at a location in north london. police say that he is receiving medical treatment, having been found with injuries, but they say no shots were fired. they also say, at this time, they believe that the suspect was known to the three victims here at bushey in hertfordshire, but as i said, and you can see behind me, the police presence here remains and probably will for hours to come. they have been making sure that only
6:41 pm
residents can get in and out of that near to the property where the three women were killed last night, but making news, again, we can confirm, the police confirming the 26—year—old suspect kyle clifford has been detained, it happened in enfield. we saw a lot of police activity in a cemetery area of enfield. they say he is being treated for injuries, they don't say what those injuries are. what they do say, that no shots were fired, and they say that they think the public for all of the help that they have given them in their investigation so far —— thank the public will but that investigation continues. they say it is an incredible difficult time, as we can all imagine for the victims families, and i think that is the one thing that i can report from here, that the people here are thinking tonight aboutjohn hunt and
