another one that have a lot of it is health both in gp surgeries and in hospitals. our health correspondent dominic hughes is with us in the studio. dominic, we forgetjust how it heavy the health service is. yeah, we have had a statement from nhs england this morning saying the disruption seems to be focused mainly on gp surgeries. nhs england has said it has been made aware of an issue with a system that is an appointment and patient record system. it means gps are having trouble accessing the electronic records of people and also issuing electronic prescriptions, so they are resorting to good old—fashioned paper. nhs england says they have long—standing measures in place to manage this disruption. we have heard also from pharmacies that they are having problems getting the prescriptions from the gp surgeries

things up and operating. the crowdstrike who come at the moment it looks like is leading back to something they have done, they have fallen 20% in trading besieging, the opening of wall street, so it is affecting their share price at the moment. on the financial angle there have been problems with banks around the world and visa have issued a statement saying although its abilities to process transactions are unaffected they are aware of reports of people being unable to make payments and they are working with financial institutional clients to understand any impact on their services to cardholders and merchants. we know that people who have tried to pay with card have not been able to. they can be issues with software at the other end. this all leads back to the fact that we

have seen these microsoft blue screens of death on things like self—service checkouts in supermarkets that have been unable to be used because they have got this blue screen, which is what we are seeing reported a lot in a lot of the institutions affected. talking of institutions affected, we were talking earlier to dominic hughes, our health correspondent, our health editor hugh pym has also spoken to people. he has spoken to one hospital source that says so far, these are the list of things affected in the nhs in the hospital. it service desks, transport booking systems, radiology reporting, rostering systems, system used by gps to enable patients to book appointments and request prescriptions, voice recognition software and the nhs app. that here in the uk, just the impact it's having on the health service and

those actual applications in different bits of technology that are being affected. we're also seeing that a parent app used by more than 3000 schools in the uk is reporting issues. it is called school comes and it is above the companies affected by this and the parents can use the app to make payments to the school or order school dinners and book after—school clubs. that, being used by 3000 schools across the uk, that is not operating at the moment and has issues because of the outage. it is a global problem that we have been reporting over the last couple of hours and our correspondence is in israel. she said 15 hospitals that have been affected by the outage. brute have been affected by the outage. we are have been affected by the outage. , are still getting news about how things are affected here. we understand that some of the postal services have been affected, as well as some news outlets. the airport has said there might be delays in

flights, but that is because of delays linked to the outage elsewhere. but the biggest effect is on hospitals. as you have been reporting. the health ministry has put out a statement saying that 15 hospitals have been affected and have switched to manual work. it seems they have the ability to do that relatively smoothly because they say that the medical treatment of patients in hospitals has not been affected, although the ministry of health has instructed the evacuation of patients to other facilities that are not experiencing this malfunction. they are also saying, the ministry of health, that they are working with the global company to restore the lost programme, but they are doing so also with local solutions. they are trying to figure out their own ways of fixing this technical problem. although they are also working with the global company. that is the
