brief and rather a scandal plagued tenure, he's a republican and he pleaded guilty to one count of wire fraud, one count of aggravated identity theft as well. we should say that that carries a minimum of a two year prison sentence and he entered that plea at a hearing before a us districtjudge there in new york on long island and he also, george santos, apologised to his constituents. just to repeat that breaking news, former us congressman george santos, republican, pleaded guilty to criminal corruption charges on monday, including one count of wire fraud and one count of aggravated identity theft. let's go back now to our top story at this hour. president biden will hold the spotlight later, on the first evening of the democratic national convention in chicago, when he'll deliver a speech backing kamala harris�*s bid for the white house. senior democrats say much of the programming will focus on biden�*s record of achievements.
