to note they have been located inside the vessel and we don't have the names or the six of —— or the sex of these two bodies. media reporting that these two bodies were found behind to mattresses inside the sunken yacht. you will know that we have been covering the story extensively here on bbc news. divers has been attempting to access the boat. at the moment it is around 50 metres, 165 feet, below the surface at the moment since monday morning. these are reports coming to us, just to clarify, on the reuters news agency and italian media as well. actually, i can tell you in the past few seconds or so, sicily�*s civil protection agency has confirmed to the bbc that two bodies have been found in the sunken yacht, so we can confirm for you, coming from the head of sicily�*s civil protection agency, two bodies have been found

in the sunken yacht, but la repubblica, italian media, reporting that these bodies were seen behind to mattresses. it has been incredibly difficult for the divers who have been operating there. they have been trying to access the cabins of the bayesian since it went down on monday morning. really hard to get into the cabins of the ship because what we have heard is their access has really been hampered by the amount of debris that is floating around and getting in the way as well, so what you are seeing is live pictures here from porticello and what we have been hearing from these teams that had robots and remote controlled vehicles as well that they are sending down to the sea bed to assist them because of course they can be down there for much longer and can be controlled from the surface. for divers, they can only don't go down for about ten minutes at a time because of the depth they are having to go down too and that is making it really hard, they are just not having enough time to be as

effective as they would like to be, so they have sent down these remote control vehicles and you can see here live pictures from porticello as the extensive search effort continues off the coast there. but this confirmation coming to us in the past few minutes or so from the head of sicily�*s civil protection agency, confirming to the bbc that to bodies have been found inside the yacht. now, we know that rescue officials have been looking for six missing people, including the british tech entrepreneur mike lynch and his daughter, his 18—year—old daughter hannah, and jonathan bloomer, who is chair of morgan stanley international. 15 people survived and we also know, sadly, the body of the on—board canadian antiguan national chef whose body was found in the wreck hours after the disaster. so it is a big

operation under way, as you can see here, and inspection of the wreck. he wreck is lying sideways, we know at a depth of around 50 metres and it is incredibly long and complex. as i mentioned, these inside space being obstructed by the amount of furniture and debris floating around and scuba divers who are there are only having about 8—10 minutes below the water been for they need to resurface. so unsure, we can see pictures from there as well, the coastguard is questioning the survivors, including the captain of the bayesian. he has made it ashore and his brother, james hatfield, who is the captain, his brother saying that he was a very respected sailor with years of experience on luxury yachts. james hatfield is from new zealand, is 51 years old, he survived and is recovering now in hospital. we understand his wife is at his side. so at the moment sources in italy are telling the bbc

hello there. it looks like the weather's in a very unsettled pattern now for the rest of this week, particularly across more northern and western areas where we'll see rain and gales. and today is looking pretty unsettled across much of the north and west of the country, but drier further south, closer to this area of high pressure. but this area of low pressure contains the remnants of what was hurricane ernesto. so there'll be a lot of moisture in it, some heavy and persistent rain continuing through the day and into the evening and night across scotland, northern ireland. pushing increasingly into north and west england and wales, with gales certainly around irish sea coast. but further south and east, it will be a quieter night to come — but a mild one with temperatures around the mid—teens for most. thursday starts off windy — lots of isobars on the charts. this front will be crossing england and wales as we go through the day, but weakening as it does so. so some heavier bursts of rain to begin thursday across northern western england and wales. but as it pushes towards the southeast, it does fragment and weaken to a band of cloud with showers. but a bright day to come for many, thursday afternoon, sunshine, blustery showers for scotland

and northern ireland. and it will stay quite windy for all, particularly towards the south—east. temperatures a bit below par for the time of year. high teens, low 20s at best. and then we look to the west. this new area of low pressure pushing in across northern ireland, england and wales, southern scotland. some of the strongest of the winds will be across wales, the midlands and southern england as we head in towards the early part of friday. mild in the south, but quite cool across central and northern scotland. friday looks quite wild. gale—force winds crossing england and wales. gusts up to 50 miles an hour, maybe even more for a time. the heavy rain does clear, and it brightens up through friday. but lots of heavy showers pushing into western scotland and northern ireland. but it will be a blustery day, wherever you are — those winds slowly easing down later on. temperature—wise, up to 23, maybe 2a degrees in the south—east. it's the mid to high teens across scotland and northern ireland. as we head into the weekend, we could see this area of rain affect the south—east quadrant of the country on saturday.

and i think sunday, as a ridge of high pressure tries to build in, although there'll be a few showers in the north and west, i think it's looking better. so we could see some heavier rain across more south—eastern areas on saturday. a better chance of seeing some sunshine with lighter winds as we head into sunday.
