concrete and debris divers are no longer able to safely navigate or operate around that we have exhausted all search efforts >> and so sarah now, a lot of the focus turns to getting the bridge. all of that still out of the water and getting that ship moved. what is going to be a major problem or at least another roadblock here? is the hazardous material that's also been discovered, 56 containers of it, more than 700 tonnes and it's making it difficult because it means that crews, in large part can't get on the bow of the ship where the bridge came down because some of those containers have been breached there is a bit of a spill into the river, although the coast guard says it's not a public health concern at this point, but it's creating more problems for those crews that are still bringing an equipment and are trying to figure out how to move this massive bridge. you can see a lot of it

guatemala. cnn has been able to speak to his family members. they say that he had been working king for this construction company for three years and that he absolutely loved his job. he was one of two guatemalans, are killed in this incident. >> the other body that was recovered, was that of alejandro hernandez fuentes. he is 35 years old from mexico, one of two mexicans are killed. we do not have that much information about him. we spoke yesterday so today, with the press secretary for the us embassy here in washington, and they said that these families have asked for privacy and that they are trying to respect those wishes other immigrant immigrant worker that was skilled as miguel luna, he is from el salvador. he is a father, 23 children, but his family also told us that he has three-step with children. a maynor suazo sandoval. he is 38 year-old from honduras. he has two children and we were able to speak to who has a family members. he was a construction

worker, but also an entrepreneur who had established a several businesses here and in honduras. and we spoke to his brother carlos suazo sandoval yesterday and he told us why it was so important to for these families that the recovery efforts continue. let's listen we have found cars, but they have not yet moved any cars because there is a lot of steel framework and they must be >> careful because they are human beings and the seeming lifeless we, their family members need them to rescue the bodies, at least two the see them and have them handed over to my family. his entire family, a little template. >> he was the >> breadwinner for his children, right now. >> got it. >> going to provide for us too, so we can get together as a family and see how we can help each other because at this moment, his wife is left with his girl and everything and gianna, most of these families have been gathering at what has been established as a family

case in georgia and look today, we're going to hear oral arguments on several motions, including one filed by trump's lead attorney, steve sadow, where he is arguing that the indictment in georgia, the sprawling rico charge, the conspiracy case, violates his first amendment is protected speech under the first amendment, when to take a look at what cedaw wrote in his motion that he was filed to the court before today's hearing, it says the first amendment and affording the broadest protection to political speech and discussion regarding governmental affairs. not only braces, but in courage is exactly the kind of behavior under attack in this indictment. obviously, prosecutors in georgia disagree with that. they view this these criminal charges as a broad conspiracy. you look at the top charge in this indictment is the racketeering charge, which really is the big one here. it's really the one that trump's attorneys are going to try to knocked out, convince the judge again today. hey, violates the first amendment rights while fani willis is team will argue that trump oversaw a broad conspiracy to try to overturn the 2020 election. look funny. this comes as fani willis is really trying to re, focus people's

will deter us from fulfilling our duty to bring this case to trial? obviously today's hearing is the first moment where we will hear from fani willis is team and trump's attorneys sense that disqualification effort you mentioned largely failed if the appeals court could still take that up. but now willis really trying to move the case forward and mcafee has agreed to allow that to happen. >> okay. anzac were also learning that one of trump's co-defendants in georgia just got cleared to work for the 2024 trump campaign. what can you share about that? >> yeah, fred harrison, florida, as you mentioned, he's charged in georgia alongside donald trump as part of this rico case brought by fani willis. he actually only realized that the judge gave them permission a month ago to work for donald trump in trump's campaign in 2024, we're only realizing it this week. he posted the letter from mcafee on twitter it's interesting because the terms of his bond agreement fluid cannot have any direct contact with any of his fellow co-defendants, including trump, but the judge making an exception a little bit here

commentator and former trump white house communications director, alyssa farah griffin. thank you so much for being here. we're just listening to arlette talk about this star studded event. we've got three former democrat or two former democratic? the president and joe biden all in one room with a bunch of stars showing up. and then in the same, at the same time here in new york, donald trump is here. he's been invited by the family of that new york police officer who was killed during a traffic stop all the while, there is a case going on in georgia involving trump and the 2020 election. when you look at all the things that are happening how is this being used? because it always is a how are the optics of this being used in spun? >> well, just fascinating split screens happening. so on the one hand, smart of joe biden, he's got a two-to-one cash advantage over donald trump on. i also think this is deliberate but to be appearing with two former presidents because no living republican presidential candidates other than sarah palin are backing donald trump.

us government is going to have a policy across the government designed to prevent ai from being abused by us agencies. and so what are some of the things that it does? well, it requires federal agencies by december 1 implement things like steps too verify that they these ai tools don't endanger americans rights they'll also have to publish a complete list of the tools that they use that are powered by ai as well as why they're using these tools will also have to complete risk assessments to ensure that the public is aware of the potential risks that these these ai tools could pose. and then finally, these ai, these agencies will have to appoint a chief ai officer to oversee the use of some of these tools. now this is kind of been years in the making we've already seen hundreds of ai use cases in the federal government. we've seen agencies like nasa using artificial intelligence to

bankman-fried will be back in federal court for sentencing. that could land him in prison for the next half-century the ftx founder was found guilty of committing one of the largest white-collar crimes in history, stealing more than 10 billion from his crypto customers. accounts cnn's kara scannell is here with the very latest on the story. what can we expect to hear in court today >> yes, there i mean, a big day for sam bankman-fried. he's 32 years old and he's facing a possible sentence of decades in prison federal prosecutors are asking for a sentence of 40 to 50 years in prison. as you said, because he was convicted of stealing more than 10 billion from investors from customers of ftx, as well as from lenders from its sister hedge fund alameda research in prosecutors also say that he spent $150 million to bribe chinese officials and made more than 100 million in a legal political donations to politicians and campaigns. no prosecutors are saying that in their filing to the judge, his

life in recent years has been one of unmatched greed and hubris of ambition and rationalization and courting risk and gambling repeatedly with other people's money. they've also said that his lack of contrition has been galling. now, his team is pleading with the judge saying that he should get no more than 6.5 years in prison, saying that he is not like other fraudsters like bernie madoff who stole money from pensions that he was not intending to enrich himself by this pointing to his his look of often wearing t-shirts and shorts they have said to the judge that the sentence that either the prosecutor there's want or the probation department, which is asked for a year sentence, they call that a medieval view of punishment to reach what amounts to a death in prison sentencing recommendation crushing sam in this way is unnecessary. they've also sent to the court dozens of letters from friends and supporters that bankman-fried, but prosecutors have also provided the judge with it looks like hundreds of pages of letters from victims in this case. and

we may even hear from one of them today who will speak before the court. sarah, there is a huge difference between what the prosecutors and the defense time-wise are asking for in prison, we will see what the judge does. kara scannell. thank you so much. john. >> all right. we got some new video just in to cnn. this is from a traffic camera on the francis scott key bridge. it's the first time i'm seeing it as well. it shows the moments just before the ship crashed into the bridge causing the bridge to collapse in the distance. what you can see there is a flashing light that is believed to be of the construction crew. then there it is on the right side of the screen. you can see the boat slowly beginning to approach the bridge, ultimately, as the boat makes contact with the bridge, the video is just completely lost. the video goes out, but you can see an empty bridge here at this point because police were able to clear it and stop whoa, stop drivers on each side but you do see the lights of what is believed to be that construction crew with this now

vessels there >> what's going to >> happen to them as this port is all but close right now. >> well, you put your finger on our priority now that recovery efforts are wrapping up and that is the fact that the port of baltimore is one of the busiest ports in america. the biggest port for cars onloading an offloading. and as you say thousands and thousands of workers directly employed there and then tens of thousands, four whose livelihood depends on it. so opening the channel is the priority. why are we so? >> honored? pleased that the present united states followed through on his promises the army corps of engineer will be is on its way right now to clear that channel and we got to make sure that we do that so that ships can once again start in that report, there were as i understand than a course, ships in the port that stock during 20 waiting to get in so the

reality is that for all those jobs and for all the commerce of it goes through the port of baltimore. i opening that channel is the priority. >> i do understand that there's some kind of direct aid to the ship workers in dock workers being proposed are being discussed in the maryland state legislature. is that something that you are supportive of any is it something that you would like to see me at the federal level to some kind of of direct aid payment plan until they can get back to full-time employment yes. >> i support the efforts in the maryland general assembly and we're looking at whether or not we have to supplement that effort at the federal level. the most important thing though john is of course, to clear that channel just as fast as possible and the federal government will be picking up the bill for that whatever it costs. and it has to happen just as soon as possible. it may be john that we open up one of the passageways that that

area is designed so you have to weigh ship traffic. but obviously if we can open one of the lanes sooner, than that, obviously would allow ships to come in and out >> what's the earliest estimate you've heard as to when that could happen? >> nobody wants to put an exact estimate on it, but i like i everybody recognizes that given everything we just talked about, given the jobs at stake, given the small businesses that will lose money and others, we've got to make this a priority and so that is the real laser focus. right now. i don't want to guess, but you know, i mean, i it's not going to take a long, long time, but i hope that it will be done in a matter of weeks. that's my hope. >> let's hope i mean, these are miracle workers, the army corps of engineers and the people working there. hopefully

they can get this done quickly >> center >> what do you want to see or what needs to happen in terms of bridge safety around the country? what questions does this raise for you as it does not appear that this bridge had the so-called fenders around the base and other instances might we have might have kept this type of catastrophe from happening >> we'll look the national transportation safety board is conducting its investigation of everything that happened i spoke to the chair of the ntsb the de of this accident. >> so we are going to win hey, there their findings. their findings will i think help with two things. number one, find out exactly what caused this and i should say that if there's liability on behalf of the ship owners, they're going to certainly have to contribute to the costs of rebuilding this bridge. but the other purpose is to make sure that we learned lessons they try to avoid this going forward. >> i can't >> comment at all, john, on the
