i could stand in the middle of fifth avenue and shoot somebody, and i wouldn't lose any voters, okay? -it's, like, incredible. -[laughter] i still occasionally talk to mark, who declined to participate in this documentary, i think because of how guilty he feels about what this all did to his four sons. he says he's working hard on those relationships, and maybe i'm a fool, but i believe him. scandals decapitate people. scandals take people completely out the game, and mark sanford-- that didn't happen to mark. mark didn't get impeached. he finished his term, and he actually won another race, uh, for the united states congress. by being honest to himself, being honest to his conservative political values, and being honest with the public, the real mark sanford was able to shake the perfection of the past and start building a new story, even if it took him a long walk along the appalachian trail to get there.

prosecution and defense teams in donald trump's hush money trial have some reading to fill their holiday weekend. cnn is brin jin grass has details and more on what to expect next yeah, the judge promise to have the finalized jury instructions in lawyers hands by the end of day on thursday, we now can confirm that they do have though the spinal jury instructions both prosecution and the defense have this long holiday weekend to work on those closing arguments. >> now we know there was a lot of issues that were still up for that were being go sheeted really in the last day of chord it, we won't know how the judge decided on these more complex legal issues until those jury instructions are read to the jury. there's those will not be made public beforehand, but let's walk through exactly what's coming up next on tuesday when court resumes a seven men and five women in the six alternates will return back to court and they will here closing arguments from both the prosecution and the defense. now, that can likely bleed into
1:07 am
wednesday after those are complete and the jurors will hear the jury instructions from the judge. we expect those to take about an hour and then deliberations, of course, begin. nobody knows how long deliberations were last, however we understand former president will stay in the courthouse in a sort of separate war room while that is happening. now, when a verdict is rendered, our understanding is that each count the 34 separate counts will be red one-by-one, a guilty or not guilty verdict for each. now, if there are any guilty verdicts, it's going to be up to the judge to make the penalty the punishment for it that our understanding now, of course is you have to spur set a sentencing date and it's possible he may not set that until after the election. so what that means, voters could be going to the polls with the former president on the ballot as a convicted felon, brynn gingras, cnn, new york special counsel's office, wants the judge in the trump classified documents case in florida to impose a gag order on the former president that would limit trump's ability to comment about the law

can take it in the wrong way. when you're talking about law enforcement and what they're not doing, right? he saying they are doing that, trying to assassinate him. it puts people in danger in jeopardy last point. and i will continue to say, we saw this as it related to the former speaker of the house and what happened to her husband, some deranged person goes and really attacks him, right? and that's a problem. >> so to avoid any type of just danger to anybody else, you need to consider a gag order to stop things that are said that it irresponsible donald trump plans to be back in front of supporters this weekend. >> of kristen holmes reports on what the former president has planned former president donald trump treating the courtroom for the campaign trail this holiday weekend, we're going to win so big as the during his criminal hush money trial is poised to begin deliberations in his case. >> next week. >> as he continues to try and make inroads with black and hispanic voters. i did criminal

midwest now the official start of the atlantic hurricane season is almost here. and with extreme record breaking ocean heat this year, the forecast so far doesn't bode well for those in the us living along the gulf in southern, southern east coast's us national hurricane center released the most aggressive preseason outlook in its history on thursday, the center says we can expect we 17 to 25 named storms with eight to 13 and those being hurricanes. and of those hurricanes, four to seven could be category three or higher the us national oceanic and atmospheric administration or noaa, as its own, says, there's an 85% chance of an above season and only a 5% chance the scene isn't will be below average all right, for more on this, i'm joined now by a skype by jennifer hubbard, a meteorologist with the us national weather service. >> really appreciate having you on at this hour or so really sounds like it could be a hyperactive hurricane season.
1:41 am
>> so first broad strokes, how concerned are you by the implications of this forecast? i mean, just, just how bad do you expect it could be? >> well if you think about the forecast, is that it doesn't tell you where landfall is going to be. so while it might be a very active season, it all depends on where those storms actually go. and any potential landfall locations so you really just have to take it one by one and being prepared is the most important thing to me. gate any kind of bad actions from the storm season? >> yeah, that's a good point, obviously i mean forecasting tomorrow's weather can be tricky, let alone projecting months into the future. so what's behind this forecast? what are the larger forces that are shaping it? >> the driving factors where this is, as you mentioned, those record warm, tropical atlantic water temperatures they're expected to remain quite warm through the peak of the season. >> and then in addition to
1:42 am
that, we are expected to transition into anemia enzo pattern and linear patterns meaning that there's very little wind shear typically in place and it also allows for storm development with the weaker trade winds as well. >> so all of those factors coming together right at the peak of the season is really what's driving the high numbers that we're seeing in the atlantic forecast all right, so from, from when i introduced this note was saying 85% chance of an above normal season and a range of 17 to 25 total named storms, including four to seven major hurricanes. >> so your you're in florida, right. so presumably one of the states that might be the hardest hit, where are the areas of most concern really anywhere along the atlantic and gulf coast seabirds, the entire clinic basin is at risk it it just all depends on where the
1:43 am
storms form, where they move, what patterns, weather patterns are in place at the time that they are moving as to where they'll move and possibly hit landfall? yeah. >> i guess one of the most concerning things about this as the fact that many areas they've already been hit by so much rain, the ground is saturated. so what would that mean if these areas are then hit by these huge superstar? forums lots of flooding news possible and those kind of conditions and water is the biggest threat with a hurricane, both from the surge at the coast, but inland, that rainfall. >> and when you have antecedent conditions that are already very moist that just means the potential i'm sure for flooding is quite high. >> yeah. all right. so we could see huge storms potentially more flooding as well. so how should folks who are likely to be in the path of these storms prepare?
1:44 am
>> the most important thing is if you're near the coast, you want to make sure you know what evacuation zone you're in. if you are in one and then for everyone, it just make your preparations so you want to make sure that you have enough food and water to last at least seven days. non-perishable food, you also want to make sure you have medications and supplies for babies and pets and that sort of thing that you might not immediately think about. >> and then you also need to make sure that if you have any special needs that you account for those such as if you have a medical patient that needs to be refrigerated. >> oftentimes, you're going to lose power in these storms. so i know where you would go or what resources you have available from the county level to ensure that you get your medication remaining in that refrigerated state look into programs that are available, if you have any kind of mobility issues or things like that
1:45 am
because sheltering and programs are available to make sure that you stay safe during the storm. but making sure you have that plan in place, knowing where you're going to go. if you need to evacuate, knowing what you need to do to prepare your house, if you're going to stay in your home? all of those things are important to have a plan in place so that once you get into that high stress environment, if a storm is starting in your area, you have that plan that you can just go from and you don't have to worry about all the little things that might pop up. >> yeah. it's a long list, but great advice because because as you say, you better to prepare now, because often it's too late when these things hit. unfortunately, really appreciate having you on jennifer hubbard. thank you so much for being here with us. >> thank you well, any major hurricane that hits the us is usually compare it to katrina, the devastating storm that hit louisiana and mississippi in 2005 katrina became synonymous with catastrophe and trauma, but also survival and
