it's that they're not necessarily being tested for safety and efficacy. and you're not going to get one of these pens as well. >> so interesting, i have been joined by longtime viewer first time sarah seidner. >> i'm like, this one, doesn't need any of that let's have a conversation afterwards, okay. sanjay, maybe you can get me just saying i'm you need it sanjay, thank you so much. we'll do this again. thank you. thank you. thank you. new hour of cnn news central starts now alright, as the biden campaign is trying to move on from the debate and the chatter surrounding it. >> former house speaker is telling democrats calling for him to leave the race, just the hold off on your criticism, at least for now. and we're standing by for secretary of state, anthony blinken to speak at the second day of the nato summit in washington, a major focus, of course, support for
6:01 am
ukraine as a policy it's ability of a second donald trump presidency looms on the minds of the leaders there and their mission to the international space station was only supposed to last just a few days, but they've been stuck now for weeks in space, we will soon hear from the boeing starliner crew for the first time about their unplanned and very extended stay in space. i'm sara sidner with john berman and kate bolduan. this is cnn new central so new comments just this morning, the former house speaker, nancy pelosi, is leaving the door for open for president biden to potentially step aside from his campaign, but also at the same time is pleading with fellow democrats to give him time and space to quote to do whatever he decides to do, whatever he decides we go with, listen it's up to the president, to subside if he is
6:02 am
going to run we're all encouraging him to make that decision. i want him to do whatever he decides to do. and that's that's the way it is. whatever he does so we go with i think it's really important and i would hope everyone would join in she let him deal with this nato conference. this is a very big deal. but let's just hold off whatever you're thinking. either tell somebody privately, but you don't have to put that out on the table until we see how we go this week. >> so pelosi's comments today come after, come as the president and the white house, are trying to turn the page on this crisis as one biden aide put it in new cnn reporting. we're done talking about the debate, but it appears other democrats or not house democrats held a family meeting of sorts yesterday with the focus being what to do about joe biden now joining us right now is democratic congressman from tennessee, steve cohen, congressman. it's good to see you. thank you for coming in. first and foremost, what do you think nancy pelosi is saying
6:03 am
there? what do you hear in her remarks? >> nancy pelosi is one of the best politicians and smartest people i've ever been blessed to deal with and interact with. and she's saying what we should do, we should reality are joe biden will determine whether he's the nominee or not. if he wants to be the nominee, he will be the nominee. if he doesn't, we'll have some other avenue. and she said, let joe biden decide. nancy had that decision a few years ago whether to remain as speaker or not, did she chose not to? but she's had a great life the last year-and-a-half as speaker emeritus and then on the national international stage as a person of wisdom and made it a big impact. and she's saying, leave it to joe biden nancy pelosi is almost always right i mean, she is an astute political tactician and in reading of data and polls and the temperature for sure. >> do you hear in those comments that she is not
6:04 am
closing the door on the possibility that joe biden may still decide to step, too, may still decide to step aside. do you agree she's leaving the door open to that i believe she is and i believe that the democratic caucus, who expects her opinion is guided by her opinion and is also knows that this election is so important that we need to defeat donald trump who's a threat to our democracy, the rule of law and freedom. >> he's a 32 time felon he's a sexual civil defendant who has been found liable up to $100 million in damages. he's not something we should hold up to the world and to our children our families, and ourselves as a role model that's a president should be joe biden is a fine man. joe biden is a man of his. he's very polished. he's knowledgeable, he's had a great record and he's somebody that people would respect after that family meeting of house democrats
6:05 am
yesterday, you were asked if the caucus was now on the same page and what you said is we're not even in the same book that doesn't sound good, congressman, what do you mean there were a lot of different opinions expressed in the caucus about what we should do, what won't be best for the nation will be best for defeating down trump. and that's what the democratic party's about. the democratic party represents congressional caucus a wide divergence of electorates, constituencies, opinions, and we spoke about those and some people were one direction at somewhere another some there was a third point, but there were we were not unified that we were not there were some more the diametrically opposed each other, but that's what do you expect and that's what we're going to go through. and that's what a good debate is and will come out with a good solution. but the bottom line is joe biden is the person who will decide if he's going to be the nominee or not. his power and that'll it'd be a close family and joe biden i think
6:06 am
speaker pelosi's correctly just giving them space how he does in this thursday night press conference, will be really important. if we speaking out to a teleprompter. but on his own, he will spontaneously and that'll be a big test and we'll see was happening, who've been great last night and nato, he made it great speech and i think he represented our country admirably and you told reporters yesterday that you're still with might and that's what i get from you. you're with biden whatever he decides, you will support democratic senator michael bennet, though, has now come out to say that he does not think that joe biden is capable of winning reelection after that debate performance, i want to play for you what he said on cnn donald trump is on track, i think to win the selection. >> and maybe win it by a landslide and take with him the senate and the house. i think that we could lose the whole
6:07 am
thing and the white house in the time since that disastrous debate, i think has done nothing to really demonstrate that they have a plan to win this selection separate from if, you think biden should keep running or not, because ben, it's actually making a separate call their do you agree with his assessment that joe biden he does not think joe biden can win this election now well, no, i think joe biden can win the election. he said a great record. unemployment is down the stock markets tops. people get insulin at $35. he took home the health care that big pharma and he won he's been a leader and appointing an african american lady to the supreme court and african american lady this is vice president he says so much for hbcus he's had a great presidency transportation act. jobs have been created. chips act, trying to get us on a competitive level in the future on manufacturing chips, a
6:08 am
product that neat chips and stuff that we fell behind on. so now he can win he's got a great record. and if he shows that he can handle some of these events like the press conference on thursday night he certainly can win that people have different districts. my district has strong behind joe biden bennett's son safe district. i looked at it yet again. i mean, i've covered you for years. i looked at it yet again this morning you're in a safe district. you can safely say, i want to be with you. i'm going to stick with joe biden because that's what you're voters are saying. but when it comes to losing the senate, maybe not regaining majority in the house, that is where the real concern comes. do you share the concern that biden may be dragging down the ticket? >> i think joe biden shares that concern as well, and i think whatever decision he makes will take that into consideration cars when cohen thanks for coming in. >> john right. >> we are standing by to hear from us secretary state anthony blinken at the nato summit in washington so far, ukraine has
6:09 am
taken center stage there with president biden pledging to supply new air defenses. cnn national security correspondent kylie atwood joins us now from washington. what's the latest from there? kylie well, listen, we're waiting to hear from the secretary of state. >> i'm told he's going to come with new security announcements will watch and see what those are. but as you said, john, this comes on the heels of president biden last night announcing new air defense capabilities that nato is going to be given to you, crying that is significant is something that ukraine has continually said it needs on the battlefield. and here's what he said about ukraine continuing to defend itself against russia with nato support all real ours before this war, putin thought nato would break today, nato is stronger than it's ever been in its history with the census war began, ukraine was a free country.
6:10 am
>> today. it is still a free country the, war will end with ukraine remaining a free and independent country now, he obviously also spoke about this being the 75th anniversary of this defensive alliance, calling it the single most effective alliance in history. >> and talking about the member nations contributing more to this alliance by the end of the year, there'll be 23 of the 32 member nations. there will be contributing at least 2% of their gdp to defense spending that is up from nine nations when president biden took office, he said, that is a success, and we should note that he had pretty strong delayed the very the president did not stumble on his words. of course, this comes as all eyes are on him for any missteps as there are questions as to if he will remain the democratic nick presidential nominee and we heard from president zelenskyy here in washington last night. he's here for the summit and he also
6:11 am
spoke about the u.s. presidential election saying pull world is watching those elections. he also predicted that president putin will not welcome if biden wins or if trump wins. listen to what he said. >> biden and trump alerted different but they are supportive democracy and that's why i think putting will hate both of them. i hope that if the people of america will vote for president trump. i hope that she's policy with ukraine will not change. i don't know where it well, him now we also obviously thank the nato alliance for all of the military support ukraine has received pleaded with them to lift some of the restrictions that are in place on the u.s of that military equipment that ukraine currently has will watch and see if any of those

all right. >> imagine dealing with suffocating heat with no air conditioning almost 2 million people are without power in southeast texas after hurricane beryl tore through the lone star state. and worse yett officials do not expect electricity to be able to be restored for days to come, possibly in some areas for weeks. cnn's ed lavendera is joining me now from dallas there's a huge challenge here that crews are facing. can you give us some sense of what that is, what we've seen all of the water and all of the damage from beryl already. and now this heat is just awful yeah, which is triggering that frustration and concern as crews work to rebuild the power systems there along the southeast texas gulf coast and the aftermath of hurricane beryl right now, roughly about one 1.7 million customers statewide are without power. >> about 1.4 million of those are in the houston area alone and those service by a power utility company? god,

centerpoint energy. there's been a state officials saying they're pushing center point to work quickly to restore this power, this, as the temperatures beginning to rise, once again, heat indexes expected to be around 100 degrees or so for the coming days. so obviously, very dangerous situation, centerpoint energy says that they're working as fast as they can, but it will take days to restore the power it's gonna be days. i mean, look at look at the last of it in june. i mean, in may, we had just under 1 million people without power i don't know if you recall that we were stored power to 1 million people in four-and-a-half days. and now we're at 2.2 million centerpoint says they're hoping to get a million customers back online by the end of the day. today. but it also comes as others, a squabble between the federal government and, and state officials here, president biden, in speaking with a

reporter from the houston chronicle yesterday saying that he was trying to quote, track down the governor, greg abbott has been on an overseas trip in asia business development trip of the lieutenant governor is the acting governor currently, dan patrick and greg abbott say that biden is politicizing this, that they have his number that he could have called an interesting political squabble in the aftermath of this hurricane is unfolding as well as residents there on the gulf coast dealing with this aftermath. there a political mess and a mess made by mother nature. thank you so much for staying out there in that heat with your crew. appreciate it ed lavendera, right. kate so the white house says it is done talking about the debate as one senior official put it to cnn i'm moving on to my day job. but are democrats on capitol hill ready to do the same to get along, get in line for something else. now, as the week continues and their mission was only expected to last a couple of days. now, the

6:25 am
in a landslide and also take the house and senate with him. cnn's arlette saenz is at the white house with more for us, lots of reporting coming out. what how is the white house responding and reacting to all well, this well, kate, president biden and his team are simply pushing forward with this campaign, essentially telling the doubters in the democratic party that it's time to move move on. aides believe that the debate over the debate and the path forward for biden in this race has been settled as president biden himself has repeatedly he insisted that he is saying in this democratic nomination, even though there are some in his party who believes it's time for him to step aside. now, one longtime biden adviser said quote he truly believes he is the only person who can defeat donald trump. it's not an act. now, an adviser said that there are some deep concerns within president biden's inner circle about some of the deterioration
6:26 am
in support up on capitol hill. but ultimately, they believe that the only way that the president would exit this race is if there was prodding from his close family members if they prefer have saw polling that showed that the president would not fare well in november and how it could impact two others in this race as well. but the white house and the president really have been pushing ahead with his campaign. the president behind the scenes has been making calls, trying to rally up support in trying to ensure that there isn't a major democratic defection taking up on are happening up on capitol hill. now though the president has earned the support of people, including the congressional black caucus, a key progressive allies like congresswoman alexandria ocasio, cortez there have been a number of house democratic lawmakers, at least seven who have publicly called for president biden to step aside. and then there are those in the senate who have privately we express concerns with those three senators. you mentioned saying in a private meeting
6:27 am
yesterday that they worried that biden would not win this election in november the biden campaign simply is keeping their eye on the ball, saying that the president is going to remain in the race and sketching out a campaign, travel and map for the coming weeks that they hope will help we'll pay him take his case directly to american voters and it's a busy day ahead in the building behind you. >> what, how much and what are we going to see the president today? >> well president biden this morning will drop by a meeting at the afl-cio as he's looking to meet with about 60 union chiefs from across the country. campaign believes that union support would be key for biden heading into november's election, the president then will turn his focus to these commander in chief foreign policy issues as the nato summit is underway here in washington, dc, ukraine, of course, is a big focus at that nato summit, the president will be welcoming the world leaders for a typical family photo when participate in a working session before hosting a dinner for those world leaders here at
6:28 am
the white house this evening, he also will be hosting the new british prime minister for at the white house for a bilateral meeting as well. but one interesting note, but former house speaker nancy pelosi today, one thing that she said in an interview this morning is that she believes that democrats that seemed to work with hold their criticism of president biden as this nato summit is playing out. she said to wait until then, but that she ultimately believes is president biden's decision to make whether to stay in this race? >> arlette. thank you so much for that. john, would you like to continue your commentary about these sprinkler system? it's white house. i'm just concerned. i'm just concerned that someone's going to be hit by the way, would water in be able so the white house says that the debate, they want the debate to be over about the president's future. i want to dunk a basketball. we don't always get what we want here, especially because of what nancy pelosi, the former house speaker said this morning, she sat down for an interview and really did seem to leave the door open to the possibility of
6:29 am
president biden ending his election. bid listen it's up to the president to subside if he is going to run we're all encouraging him to make that decision. i want him to do whatever he decides to do and that's that's the way it is. whatever he decides, we go with. i think it's really important and i would hope everyone would join in. she let him deal with this nato conference. this is a very big deal. let's let's just hold off for whatever you're thinking either tell somebody privately, but you don't have to put that out on the table until we see how we go this week. with us now, veteran democratic strategist and consultant simon rosenberg and cnn, political commentator and democratic strategist, maria cardona nancy pelosi chooses her words carefully. >> maria and you know what nancy pelosi didn't se just there. i want president biden to run you also heard nancy
6:30 am
pelosi saying, i think something that is really, really important, and that is that when the president is on the world stage, as he is this week, that not just democrats but americans should all close ranks behind him because it is too important in terms of what we're facing on a global scale. >> now, in terms of what she said about president biden's campaign, she is right. it is up to president biden and in terms of what he has decided, he has decided to stay, he wrote letter to all of the members of congress where he makes it very clear that he is going to stay. and so i think she said what she said because as you know, there are still democratic lawmakers that are concerned and as one of the strongest leaders and most well-respected leaders and congress, she doesn't want to be seen as shutting everybody up and telling them to swallow their concerns. she is somebody
6:31 am
who has been very effective because she is all about consensus. she is all about making sure that everyone's concerns are aired. what she said today hey, is let's not air them in front of the world stage because frankly, every time that happens, the way that senator bennett did, and with all due respect to the senator what he says and how he says it does not help president biden. and in fact, it is a huge help for for donald trump, especially as we are heading into this election. >> the former speaker knows that president biden wrote the letter, simon, and she did not say, i'm super site that he wrote that letter. i'm super psyched. he staying in she basically made it sound like he hasn't decided yet it needs to correct well, i want to be clear about a few things. i'm 100% behind joe biden. i think that the democratic party is very much supporting joe biden's presidential run. and
6:32 am
we've got to keep our heads down and keep doing the work here. we can't lose weeks of time in this campaign. this is going to be a very close election and i know the polls have slipped a little bit, but we're still in a very close and competitive election. and i think what nancy was saying, i actually i don't want to speak for the speaker. the former speaker, i think what is my advice to biden world? it's to recognize that they should be worried not so much about the defections of house members are senators, but there is concern in the public and in inside our own coalition about his capacity to serve, not just in the next few months, but over the next four years and i think the campaign has to recognize that we're in a new place. we fallen back a few points, 11, gotten a little bit harder for us to presence can have to work harder. and they're going to need to make it very clear to us in the coming days how what their plan is for victory in a far more adverse adversarial set of circumstances for us i still think we can win this election think donald trump's the worst candidate. we've ever seen. i think there's been one
6:33 am
guy who had a bad debate performance and then disappeared for 12 days and it wasn't our guide. our guide was out there boston, his being president campaigning in the battlegrounds, why this other guy was all playing golf and taking it easy. i mean, if there was any evidence of the vigor that we needed to see from joe biden. we've seen it in the last few weeks, but the election has gotten harder for us now, and i think the biden world would be wise to do more to try to assuage the concerns and talent. and instead of telling everybody that it's time to move on assignment just very quickly. my follow up here as someone who says he's 100% behind joe biden and wants joe biden to stay in were you happy? that former speaker pelosi phrase it like that? do you wish she just come out and said that ye joe biden? yeah john. >> john, we're having a debate, right? debates are healthy, were in a democracy debate deliberation is the hallmark of it and that's part of what i'm getting at is that there is a chunk of our party and is deeply concerned that is, wants joe biden to step aside. i mean, this is this is
6:34 am
not just a few random folks. this is millions and millions of democrats are concerned. they want to win. they have concerns about joe biden's candidacy right now. the president rather than dismiss listing them, should be addressing them head on. he can't pay needs to take this on because we need everybody on board that we can't leave anybody behind if we're going to win this election our coalition has to be 100% committed to joe biden. and there is a part of our coalition right now that is wavering and we've got to do more to bring them along instead of dismissing their legitimate concern. prince about not what he's done over the last three-and-a-half years. but what he can do over the next four years, that's what's in front of us. now. it's not just a referendum on his successful presidency. he has been successful. the country's far better off. what we're going to be voting on is whether he can do the job for the next four years. and i think there are legitimate and serious there is concerns about that that needs to be more forcefully addressed by the president and his campaign. >> alright, following that reasoning, maria, how, how
6:35 am

6:42 am
the first time nato is how to dedicated command, to helping an aspiring country join the alliance and that has very practical components to it. >> that we'll i think speed. ukraine's accession to the alliance. and we talk about a bridge. it's nice to have an image of metaphor as my colleague jim o'brien thanks to say, it's a bridge that's going to be strong well-lit, and with this command, i think it will be a short bridge to a short bridge noted there, ambassador volker, what do you make of his comments there? does that give the opening that he would like to see ukraine join nato well, i think he's making the best out of a decision not to invite ukraine to join nato at the summit. >> first-time nato said ukraine can become a member was in 2008. it's been 16 years. last year at the vilnius summit, we tweak the language a little bit. we said, yes, they can still be a member but when nato is ready and when they're ready, now we have a bridge,
6:43 am
but still not an invitation, but i think he's making the best of it that we can my own view is that vladimir putin is going to keep attacking ukraine and go into keep trying to destroy the people, the country to wipe them off the map until we ensure ukrainian victory against russian forces. and part of that victory has got to be bringing them into nato so that we can establish deterrence in the future and prevent the next one. >> jim, obviously there are concerns about doing just that. what ambassador volker said, which is bringing them into nato because then nato has to respond what are your thoughts and how this would work, and what it would mean if they were able to join nato as the war is happening. >> well, i think it's it is a gamble. this is something that the administration has been spending a lot of time trying to figure out, are there ways to bring them them more quickly without causing a kind of backlash? i think there have been some good ideas out there in terms of trying to integrate
6:44 am
them into the headquarters on an unofficial basis, have them sit in committees, have them take part in nato activities even though they're not members, but kind of almost an informal membership, if you will. there are ways i think that we could have pushed the envelope more than we have. but right now, the attention is on this bridge and the bridge is made up mainly of military assistance, not so much the political side, but i think it's the most plus the alliance can live with for this summit. >> but we have to hope that the next summit will bring more political progress in terms of membership that we all want to happen as soon as possible. i were sitting here watching president biden stand very strongly with nato, making very clear that he believes united states and nato r1 and he doesn't want to break that up. we have not heard the same from former president donald trump, who is the leading candidate for the republicans and will be their nominee. does nato seed donald trump as an existential
6:45 am
threat to the alliance? if he is indeed elected, i will start with you and back mr. i think existential threat as a bit strong they are concerned about what it would be. it's a lot of uncertainty as to how well he would behave as president. we've seen statements from him saying that he wouldn't necessarily come to country's defense if they did not spend their share gdp on defense he would argue that that's just to get them to do their share. it's about strengthening nato by getting europe to pay more, but it's unsettling for a lot of european allies at the same time, there are unsettled by the questions over american leadership today that we see people in the democratic party calling for president biden not to be the nominee or changing the nominee many of the last minute. so all of these things are questions about american leadership in the future. and they are unsettling to allies in the aren't casting a shadow over the summit here this week fear over the shakiness of it.
6:46 am
is there any in your mind, jim, any chance that the united states if donald trump becomes president, pulls out from nato and if so, what would that mean? to nato well, i think the nato of today is not the nato that trump knew four years ago as just the ambassador pointed out to allies, are 23 of the 32 are spending 2% or more on defense. >> the europeans are doing very, very fast job right now of trying to build out their militaries compared to where they were four years ago, putin has really put the fear of having to deal with an aggressive neighbor i into their, into their thinking. and so we're seeing now a lot of action that trump called for four years ago. it's happening now so i'm thinking that if trump were elected, those things that he might have done four years ago it might not be necessarily on the agenda it's time, around and one final point. mark rutte, who was the
6:47 am
new nato secretary general, got along well with trump back when mark was the prime minister of the netherlands, and trump was president. so i think i think with that kind of relationship between those two as well as the new nato that we're seeing right now. there's less of a reason for donald trump that feel that he wants to move out of the alliance and teach the europeans a lesson some towns in and ambassador volker, thank you both so much for your insightful answers this morning, appreciate it. john. >> all right. we are just minutes away from opening statements in the involuntary manslaughter trial of alec bohm all the way in scorching temperatures screaming winds, rain made of glass in now, the smell of rotten eggs, a new discovery found but one dangerous planet is also very stinky this situation blitzer locked in, knighted six. >> cnn do you know about medicare part c plans, also

i'm. stephanie elam in los angeles, and this is cnn opening statements are about to begin in the involuntary manslaughter trial against alec baldwin, the actor has pleaded not guilty to a felony charge in connection with the shooting death of cinematographer halyna hutchins on the set of the film rust cnn's josh campbell is outside court in new mexico, has been tracking this all from the very beginning. >> what is expected to happen in court today, josh that kate, we're about to head inside for the start of this trial opening statements begin this morning, and according course, there's long been this question. how do you find an impartial jury in a criminal trial involving a megastar that has been seen around the world, but the court here thinks they did just that in paneling when the jury yesterday, 11 women and five men who will sit in judgment of alec baldwin. now the prosecution spent most of the day yesterday basically asking jurors about what type of media coverage but they had received almost everyone in that courtroom said they had heard something about this case most of them said they could set all of that aside. now for the prosecution's part, interestingly, they actually
6:53 am
brought up for number president donald trump appearing to make reference to his unflattering portrayal on saturday night live by alec baldwin, the defense attorney actually say saying that, look, although this is an actor, he may have played someone in a way that you didn't like imitated a character that you didn't like, please set that aside and render an impartial verdict here. now, as far as the prosecution, there's one critical thing that will not be discussed during this trial. and kato course, you and i were live on the air last year and exclusive tv interview with the lead prosecutor at the time let's remind our viewers what they said the strategy in this case was, then have a listen is baldwin being charged as an actor who was holding the gun or as a producer on the set, who was negligent about the safety standards, can you help describe that? he's being charged as both? he was the actor that pulled the trigger. so certainly he's charged as an actor, but also as a producer. he also had a duty to make sure that the set was safe
6:54 am
now, that second part is key here because the judge in this case and a major victory for baldwin's team says his role as a producer cannot be brought up in this trial. >> that's important because what prosecutors wanted to do was say he was not just the person holding the gun when it went off, but he was also responsible for this culture of unsafe practices that will not be part of this trial. again, opening statements begin just a short time. this trial expected kate to last about two weeks, right? >> josh. thank you so much for laying it out for us. important day there. john. all right. this morning we will hear from the crew of the boeing starliner for the first time since they launched, astronauts, butch wilmore and suni williams. they are still in space on the international space station, kind of stuck. they're weeks after they were supposed to come home because they've had a technical issues. kristin fisher is with us now okay. it'll be nice to hear from them when can they get back? >> we just don't know yet, you know, john, these two astronauts were supposed to return to earth sometime in mid-june. it's now almost mid
6:55 am
july, and we still don't have a targeted return date for when boeing's maiden voyage of its first crewed test flight of this starliner spacecraft is going to return to earth know targeted return date. in fact, they've even tried to extend their time up there by reducing the battery packs on starliner spacecraft so it could be several more weeks before we come back. and of course we know that they ran into some issues on that flight to the international space station. they had those helium leaks and then the big thing when they had some issues with those thrusters and these thrusters are like really tiny motorized engines that are used it's to make small maneuvers in space, specifically, those tricky maneuver is like actually docking with the international space station and d orbiting and re-entering the earth's atmosphere. a critical part of re-entry, which is a pretty dangerous time as the spacecraft is re-entering the earth's atmosphere and hitting those really high temperatures. so that is what they're
6:56 am
troubleshooting right now, nasa says that this spacecraft is safe for them to return in an emergency situation, but they still haven't allowed them, obviously, to go back in a normal situation. so now john, we he finally are going to get to hear from these astronauts themselves and the big question i have is, do you guys feel safe to get in this spacecraft and go back to earth? nasa says, it's safe for an emergency situation. but would you all feel safe actually getting in the cockpit cockpit and flying back to earth. john, it very quickly, kristen, i understand you've got news about a molecule on a very sticky planet yeah, it's outside the solar system. >> it's a planet that's even bigger than jupiter can you hear me and what they found was a small amount of hydrogen sulfide. sulfide, it really smells like rotten eggs here on planet earth. so this was a discovery that was made by the james webb space telescope. and
6:57 am
so they've known so much about this planet for so long it has this glass rain really hot temperatures, but now thanks to this discovery from the webb telescope of hydrogen sulfide, it's probably pretty stinky two john you that's what they say in space. live there thanks. >> i'm good here on earth. appreciate it. thank you, kristen? thank you for joining us. this is cnn news central. cnn newsroom with jim acosta. it will not be stinky up next i'm never shopping for car insurance again because with the experience insurance marketplace i don't have do they do it for me? >> yeah. experience. it's a whole new way to not shot for car insurance they take your info and shop it with over 40 top providers to find you a great rate and experience monitors, you're right. if there's something better you get an alert can they keep
