products. we also make proactive urinary tract thanks help product you, cora, is a lyptsi tried today at your core.com when nancy pelosi speaks, democrats listen, but we'll joe biden the former speaker, says the president needs to make a decision about his run for the white house there's just one problem. >> he's been saying for days. that is minds already made up we're going to see president biden this hour from the nato summit and opening statements today in the matter and slaughtered trial of alec baldwin, he faces up to 18 months in prison the film's armorer has already been found guilty. we're covering every development and two astronauts are talking for the first time about there unexpected time on the international space station. when they could return to earth despite their malfunctioning spacecraft following these major developing stories and many more all coming in right here to cnn news central from
10:02 am
hollywood to the halls of congress, growing calls from within the democratic party the president biden to step aside. >> but the white house says, the president's focus is elsewhere. it's on the nato summit happening here in washington because as he works to convince world leaders that he's up for the job, one of his closest allies, former speaker nancy pelosi, appears to be questioning the decision that he's already made to stay in the race listen it's up to the president to subside if he is going to run we're all encouraging him to make that decision. >> i want him to do whatever he decides to do. and that's that's the way it is. >> at the same time, biden is facing new calls from two prominent democrats to get out hollywood icons, george clooney and rob reiner, two major
10:03 am
voices. and major fundraisers as well we're covering all the angles of this story. let's get you out to the white house with cnn senior white house correspondent kayla tausche and kayla well, the biden campaign is trying to move on even with this growing group of nervous democrats boris within the halls of the white house and within the biden campaign, there is a desire to move on from the debate, get back to what one official called business as usual, but it is hardly business as usual for democrats with domino's continuing to fall and support continuing to erode from some powerful corners of the party even now, 13 days after the debate, where many democrats walked away from that, unsure of how biden would proceed as the nominee. >> and just today, george clooney writing in the new york times about his change of heart toward president biden writing this, it's devastating to say it, but the joe biden, i was with three weeks ago at the fundraiser was not the joe big effing deal biden of 2010 and
10:04 am
he wasn't even the joe biden of 2020. he was the same man. we all witnessed at the debate and cloning who included who co-hosted that fundraiser that raised $14 million in los angeles three weeks ago, says that what biden does not have on his side is time, and that's something that cannot be reversed. and for his part, rob reiner saying that's my friend george clooney has clearly expressed what many of us have been saying. we love and respect joe biden, we acknowledge all he has done for our country, but democracy is facing an existential threat. we need someone younger to fight back joe biden must step aside and then this morning, senator richard blumenthal, democrat from connecticut, saying to reporters that he is deeply concerned it's about biden's prospects of winning in november after just in recent days saying that joe biden is the nominee and the biden campaign putting that in a press release this morning. and boris, i've just learned from my own sources that organizers for a convention lunch in chicago, that would
10:05 am
feature high dollar donors owners. they've decided to scrap that event. it was a relatively small event in the grand scheme of things, but it captures the mood of the donor class right now, which is flashing bright red warning signs, especially in a deep blue part of the country that many of these donors do not feel comfortable tapping their networks and asking them to max out when susie asm is waning and they're not sure what the convention will look like. boris important nugget there from kayla tausche at the white house. thank you so much. let's go ahead and listen to president biden, who was at nato right now with regard to defense production they've, they're significantly ramping up their production of weapons eu initiatives, and vehicles and they're doing it with the help of china. north korea, and iran. we cannot in my view, we cannot allow the alliance to fall behind fact is that so many of my my me put it this way i'm very pleased this
10:06 am
today, all nato members are making the pledge to expand our industrial base and are capacity like our defense spending commitment is a critical step to maintain in our security the first time ever every nato nation is pledging to develop plans for defense production at home that means as an alliance will become more an innovative and competitive were able to produce more critical defense equipment more quickly. than we should that we may need it will not be suppressed. we cannot be surpassed by anyone when it comes to our readiness here at home, americans have seen the power of investments like these in my administration. we've already invested $30 in defense manufacturing to restart or expand production across 35 of our states we're investing billions more result stronger
10:07 am
supply chains stronger economy, stronger military and a stronger nation let me close with this this new pledge sends an unmistakable message to the world that every nato member is committed to doing their part to keep the alliance strong we can and will defend every inch of nato territory. and we'll do it together and that we're investing in our future strength to ensure nato will always be ready for whatever threats real face should be a clear message we're making too sending to the world so i want to thank every nato member for your commitment for our shared security and i will add now ask the press to depart so we can get started. >> thank you so much president biden for those remarks and us president joe biden speaking at his 75th anniversary of nato
10:08 am
world leaders convening in the nation's capital to talk about the future of the alliance and the ongoing threat from russia in its invasion in ukraine, the president saying the alliance can and will defend every inch of nato territory, boasting about investments in the alliance by the united states and members of the group saying we cannot allow the alliance to fall behind at one point, the president seemed to try to get away from the script and very quickly changed his mind and veered right back into it. obviously this comes as there are a lot of questions about the president's mental acuity, even from within his own party. so let's get the latest from cnn congressional correspondent lauren fox, who's with us on capitol hill because lauren today, an eighth democrat came forward, essentially calling for the president to remove himself from the top of the ticket for the white house in november yeah. >> this has been a slow it's ramp oh, i think that the white house had hoped that by tuesday
10:09 am
evening that they had put this episode behind them instead, what you are seeing is democrats very carefully coming out one by one, stating their position on the president and look, there is a minority, obviously, of democrats who have outright come out and said and that biden needs to remove himself from the top of the ticket. there's also not that many democrats who are just forcefully saying that biden is the best person to beat donald trump. what you are finding is much more solidly in the middle ground many democrats making the case that biden needs to make up his mind what's interesting about that, of course, is the fact that biden and his campaign have made clear that they've already chosen to stay in this race. but i think this is an interesting tactic. i actually just talked with senator peter welch of vermont is i was walking over here and asked him, you know, it seems like you keep saying you hope that biden makes the right choice, but he's already stated what his position is. and here's what welch said to me just moments ago, quote, i'm hoping
10:10 am
that concerns that are being expressed are being heard even if not yet acknowledged. i want him to look at the evidence and make a hard decision. he's earned that and i think the last piece is really key here, because a lot of democrats, they like joe vize i hadn't they believe in joe biden. they are proud of what they've been able to accomplish with joe biden. but here's senator joe manchin, laying out his view do you see a world in which the president would change his mind at this point though, i've always said this if you can't change your mind, you can't change anything everyone let's see if they see facts and they felt that the right decision is the right decision that they want to make. that right decision even though they may some overtures other than that, i've always believed rational people do the right thing. >> and i think that that is the challenge right now for the biden campaign, is that this just doesn't seem to be going away. these questions are not
10:11 am
being answered and a lot of democrats continue to say on capitol hill that they have concerns now, do more members come out, right and say that they want biden to remove himself? from the top of the ticket, will see time will tell lauren fox live for us on capitol hill. thanks so much for the latest jessica and joining us now is democratic congresswoman debbie dingell of michigan, congresswoman, always great to have have you on. thanks for making time today. i want to ask you first about former speaker pelosi's remarks this morning on msnbc when she told fellow democrats to quote, just hold on. off until we see how this goes and says she's been she wants biden to do what he believes he should do. you've been very supportive of the president, but you say he needs to go out and show the american can people he's up for another term. i'm curious, congresswoman, do you agree with speaker polo with former speaker pelosi's comments this morning well actually seeing the actual comments or talked to her this morning but my understanding of what she said
10:12 am
was joe biden's got to make the decision in total agreement. >> there's one person that can make this decision that is joe biden. he's got to show the american people. he's got the stamina. he is up to the job and go out and do it. and i also well, i think from what i've heard, but in conversations for 13 days donald trump and the republicans have loved watching every minute of this discussion. we have got to get back as a party as leaders, talking about what's at stake in november and doing the contrast in positions and what could happen if we do elect donald trump is president and we've got to get back to that dialogue. the republican convention is next week. i can't, you know, their theme on monday let's make america wealthy again, i cannot wait to talk about the cuts he wants to give to the billionaire class and how he doesn't want to do anything for working men and women in this country and that's what we need to be talking about. and yet congresswoman, their members of your own party, your colleagues, house democrats who are calling for him to step
10:13 am
aside publicly. we had senator michael bennet saying that he has deep, deep concerns about a gop landslide with biden at the top of the ticket. we heard from ritchie torres, a member of the congressional black caucus, which has supported and voiced its support for the president. he released a statement saying there must be a quote, serious reckoning on the effect that biden could have on down-ballot races. and in swing states like your own, do you think that the president is still the strongest person to be at the top of the ticket good so i'm going to answer the beginning part of this question first, which is congress is a representative body. and what you're hearing from different colleagues is exactly what you're hearing across america. i have been yelled at by more people on all sides. i have colleagues colleagues, and constituents that are screaming and all sides, but i equally have a number. you presented one side. i have a lot of of,
10:14 am
constituents that are telling me you're going to disenfranchise millions of voters. you need to have joe biden's back. he shouldn't be forced out. there was a lot of different opinion it's about this, but as long as we keep bringing our hands and letting this drama continue and not talking about the issues that are at stake and the future of this country for the next four years that's what we've got to do. get back to talking about the substance. joe biden has said what he's going to do that's what he's truly going to do. he needs to put this term pressed with leadership of the congress, with the caucus needs to talk to everybody. that's what it is. and we gotta start working on winning in november because i believe this country will be in real trouble if we elect donald trump. and congresswoman to that end? leadership the leader of house democrats, a keen jeffries is these conversations will continue throughout the week. this is a family discussion that people need to say and speak their piece essentially at what point do you think and do you think he and other members of leadership
10:15 am
me to say that's enough, get behind the candidate or say, joe biden needs to move aside, essentially pick a side i believe that i have not talked to senator schumer, but i've talked to our leader every day this week, talked to him today. he's talked to people he wants to make sure he is listening to everybody. everybody's had their chance to be heard. and you know what, if you've talked, you know, if you're talking to members there are some caucuses that have some very strong feelings and have been making those feelings known very strongly that he needs to stay by the way, people are saying, i mean, our caucus is representative. there's a law strong feelings. i think we're going to go home for ten days. the break is coming up. that i know he knows. we got to bring people together in whatever direction we're going to go there our leadership is going to try to keep people together. our strength is our unity. we've got to have our message and when we did by the end of this week, i think everybody know when we go into the republican
10:16 am
convention next week, we can't keep doing what we've been doing for the last 13 days. and just quickly, congresswoman before i let you go, just because you do you do live in and that very important swing state of michigan? >> i do just want to ask you again, if you think president biden is the strongest person at the top of the ticket to win michigan in the fall he's the candidate right now. >> and these are do you beat your wife kinds of questions, you know, who is this truck? everybody said hillary clinton's the strongest case no doubt she's going to win and i've told you all took 15 to 16. donald trump was gonna win. i love calorie, but she wasn't the strongest candidate. what we had a good do is go out and talk the issue and we got to make sure we talked about with joe biden's accomplished what the vision is with democrats stand for? that what i mean, roe versus wade, they take credit for over attorney that they don't believe a woman has the right to make her own decisions. there now and project 2025, wanting to cut social security and medicare those are the issues we need to be out there talking about. and that's what i want to do all
10:17 am
right. >> congresswoman debbie dingell, we really appreciate it. thank you thank you and as the biden campaign tries to move on from the debate, and this particular moment in time, former president trump is challenging and to another debate what last night's rally revealed about trump's evolving strategy. >> we'll have details on that ahead. plus the future of nato and focus right here in washington dc, where president biden seeks to reassure world leaders the strength of his leadership and of the alliance we're live at the nato summit and you plan for the unexpected on big trips. but what about a few? mr. weeks in space with the starliner astronauts are saying about their delay back to earth so seen as host and shark week, short he's back who is the alpha male again? asu about to get the my chums short. mike john cena, all of this week at 8:00. >> discovery extreme on that, you know, if you or cash back

10:23 am
national security analyst, jim sciutto. jim, obviously ukraine, a huge focus of this meeting boris, the distinct feeling among senior nato officials i've spoken with over the last several days is that anything that is agreed to here stated publicly, advocated for or otherwise has a shelf life of about four months focus is on what the impact will be of the u.s. election in the fall. they look at the two options on the ballot as having a very different view. of the u.s. role in this alliance, but also the u.s. role in the world in europe as relates to russia, in asia, as relates to taiwan and china they are looking at in this election as an inflection point. and i will tell you that i heard quite the same going up to several months ago, right. even prior to the presidential debate as they saw an election and it was at a minimum quite tight. now, in
10:24 am
the wake of that debate, many folks in this room now increasingly doubt the chances that president biden is re-elected. so they're bracing for the possibility of an enormous change in the u.s role in this alliance. now, you will hear different views as to how big that change it will be, whether if, for instance trump might attempt to pull the u.s. out of nato or just reduce its role but big change is coming they see with this election. and that's why what you're seeing here really is, is a waiting game for what the effects of the election will be. and jim, going back months, as you noted, those same leaders have seemed to try to find ways to sort of trump proof the alliance, right to install securities that would be in place yeah even beyond november's election absolutely. you see that a number of ways, for instance, the most recent us aid military aid to ukraine. it's a lot of
10:25 am
money with the intention being it could last longer than just a several months until the election, perhaps even after a potentially donald trump comes into office, but other steps as well, the u.s. congress acting so that a us president could not make a unilateral decision to leave the the alliance and other language, for instance, in the communiques both at this summit, but also a previous summits that put into writing natoce commitment, at least to the idea of ukraine's membership long term. so all these attempts at what's been described at me in the simplest terms as trump proofing. the alliance it's in these many steps, but they know that you cannot prove against the commander in chief of the largest member of nato with the largest military in the world, the largest budget it's cetera, whoever is elected has enormous power to determine the role of this alliance going forward in ukraine and elsewhere so that they can trump proof to a degree but they can't trump prove
10:26 am
everything. and as you know, boris, you know, i've talked about this i've spoken to former senior officials in trump's own administration from the previous administration who said that under trump, you might very well pull out of the alliance as well as italy least reduce america's commitment to other defense alliance is not just in europe, but with south korea, japan, and elsewhere. i mean, they really are bracing for the possibility of big change yeah he certainly has not ruled that out when he's been asked jim sciutto, live from the summit. thank you so much. yeah. still ahead. opening statements have wrapped in the trial of alec baldwin. prosecutors there's are accusing the actor of breaking a cardinal rule of firearm safety while the defense says this was all just a tragic accident, what more we're hearing from? inside the courtroom, plus the boeing starliner crew is speaking out from the international space station about there unplanned extended stay in space see why? i'm confident that boeing space capsule and return them back to earth safely i love cnn

10:32 am
killed ladies and gentlemen that's what this case is about let's get the latest from cnn correspondent elizabeth wagmeister. >> we also have with us cnn legal analyst joey jackson, elizabeth first to you, bring us up to speed on what we've seen unfold in the courtroom so far. >> well, we are seeing unfold is really a tale of two different stories as we just saw from the prosecution, they're saying that alec baldwin acted recklessly he knew that the armor hannah gutierrez reed was inexperienced and that he should have been responsive it's a bull for checking this gun. they said as we saw in that clip that you played, they said that even though this is a movie set, this isn't make believe it's real life then if we go their opening statement, they are saying that this is a movie set and our client, alec baldwin, is an actor. it's not his job to check the gun we have a loo
10:33 am
we'll one of his lawyers had to say the actor's job is to act to rehearse, to choreograph his moves, to memorize his lines in the incident in question. he's pulling a six shooter to try to defend himself that's why the gun has to be safe before it gets into the actor's has his mind is somewhere else in the being of another a century away and outlaw he must be able to take that weapon and use it as the person he's acting would his attorney went on to say that on a movie set while everyone does act in harmony, that each person has their own individual responsibility, and that checking the gun would have been responsibility of the armor and also of the assistant director. >> now, you'll remember that earlier this week and a pretrial hearing, there was a big legal victory for baldwin and not the judge ruled that his role as a producer cannot come up. now why this is significant is because the
10:34 am
prosecution was intending to say that as the producer or baldwin did bear more responsibility for safety on that set, what we're seeing today is that direct result of that legal victory, which is that baldwin's defense is really relying on the fact that he is an actor and that's what they're drilling into. >> all right. elizabeth wagmeister. thank you so much for that reporting with that in mind, let's turn now to joey jackson and enjoy let's talk about the fact that these charges against baldwin were initially dropped, and yet now we're looking at live pictures inside a courtroom. so what changed? >> yeah a lot change the reality is good to be with you, jessica and boris, is that the prosecution had the ability, even though the case was dismissed because there was no final adjudication. this is not double jeopardy whenever a case is otherwise dismissed in any way without the merits, you don't get to the question of double jeopardy. and so to the extent that there was evidence which would suggest there was initial issue as to whether the
10:35 am
gun was operable. was the gun was altered, whether the gun had any issues such as to make alec baldwin not culpable. however, it was tested and it was determined that at the time that it was used and it was perfect, it was in perfect condition as a result of that he decided jessica to move forward. remember, this is not a murder trial. the issue is not whether he had the intent to kill anyone. the issue was whether he was careless, whether he was irresponsible, and as a result of that, irresponsibility, whether it led to the death, the issues that elizabeth brought up, the excellent point that she makes with respect to the battle of the narratives is very much at play. the prosecution trying to say this is a workplace and in a workplace you have to be responsible and they are cardinal rules the defense arguing what cardinal rules he's acting and he has every right to rely upon the work of others who handed him a cold gun last point with respect to this question, and that is the fact that they cannot introduce his role as a producer, jessica, into the waging goes to a lot that the defense it ignores to the benefit greatly because now you take out the
10:36 am
issue of a produces ability to establish a safe environment. what should he have done? what protocols followed? what was the workplace like? what should the workplace have been like? it all comes down to whether he acted responsibly as an actor and that's the question that has to be decided. if by this jury joey something in the opening statements on the defense side struck me and that was their argument that in his mind, he's an outlaw 100 years ago this sort of method acting argument that we're hearing that he's in a different mind and said where his focus is on the scene itself and not necessarily on the function of what he has in his hand how effective is that as an argument? >> so boris, that's important because it goes to the fact that you're acting and it distinguishes the issues the prosecution was raising in terms of the cardinal rules of a workplace. >> this is not a normal workplace and you have to, i think, judge, someone's conduct consistent with context, consistent with their environment, consistent with their role, consistent with
10:37 am
their responsibilities and what the defense is arguing bars that he had every right being an actor of another an actor of this era, right mirroring or acting from someone from another era to reasonably rely upon the gun safety measures of others. and if someone hands you a gun and says cold gun, right? why would you have any reason? until believe that it was otherwise loaded, that it was otherwise operable, that it was otherwise capable of taking a life. so i think it's going to be critical as the jury evaluates this to determine whether he was responsible and also the point to be made he said repeatedly that is alec baldwin who is of course accused that he never put his his, his hand on the trigger, his finger on the trigger? i think to the defense argument, if you buy it, it wouldn't matter because whether he put his finger on the trigger or not, he had the ability to believe and to know as an actor from another generation that he was simply acting. the gun was cold and that no projectile would come out of it, much less hit someone much less kill them. those are going to be the issues for the jury's determination joey jackson,

10:43 am
will note as well though that over the past year or so, donald trump's team has largely tried to ignore kamala harris. as soon as she became the vice president and they knew that joe biden is the person that will be at the top of the ticket. he would be fighting. they've really trained most of their attacks on him. so this is a change in posture and it clearly shows and i can tell you from my conversations with trump's team, this is how they're feeling. they are monitoring this the situation very heavily privately and watching the rest of the world to what's going to happen and whether joe biden will step aside. now, he did have very harsh words for her. i want you to take a listen to exactly what he told the crowd last night whatever else you can be said about joe biden, you have to give him credit for one brilliant decision, probably the smartest decision he's ever made he picked kamala harris as his vice president now, it was
10:44 am
brilliant because it was an insurance policy may be the best insurance policy i've ever seen marco. >> if joe had picked someone even halfway competent, they would have bounced him from office years ago now, jessica, i also just want to point off right off the top here that he was purposefully mispronouncing harris's name. it's camila not kamala been so we hear that from we heard that on the campaign part of his his way of attacking her but look, i can tell you from my conversations with the campaign that they really do want joe biden to continue on as the candidate. there are concerns about him stepping aside and part of that is because they've spent millions of dollars on modeling gathering data, months of advertising focused mainly on one single person. and that's joe biden. and so if he does ultimately step aside or is forced to step down and someone else is at the top of the democratic ticket. it really throws trump's camp pain into
10:45 am
uncertainty for the next four months. and so whether they say that publicly or not is a different issue, but they are currently delighting in the fact that joe biden is hanging on and saying that he's not planning to step aside. and in those remarks, we heard him shout out marco rubio, the senator from florida a potential vice presidential pick, and look, time is ticking on trump to make that decision, the rnc's next week. it is. and it was interesting to hear him, you know praise marco rubio last night after we have all heard him call him little marco for many years, but you know, he did kind of taunt rubio a bit last night. rubio was there with his entire family. he spoke before trump took the stage but we did not hear a vice presidential announcement. now the three people who continue to be at the top, or i should say on trump's short, shortlist is marco rubio, but also senator jd vance and nora for to cota governor doug burgum. it's still unclear and i know we're getting close. they say he needs to make this decision by

10:51 am
insist they are not actually stranded. even know when they left earth on june 5, they were expected to return just nine days later their return has been delayed indefinitely after the boeing starliner spacecraft suffered a series of technical issues here's how the missions commander butch wilmore explains the situation this is a tough business that we're in human spaceflight is not easy in any regime. >> and there have been multiple issues with every spacecraft has ever been designed. and that's the nature of what we do. you know, that monitor you've heard you're is not an option that's why we are staying here now. we did have some degradation and our thrusters and we know that and that's why we're staying because we're going to test it that's what we do. that's what we do in this instance. we're going to get the data that we need to help inform our decisions. we make the right decisions let's discuss with former nasa astronaut terry virts, sir. thanks so much for being with us. degradation in
10:52 am
our thrusters. what exactly does that mean? how does it compare to other technical issues that we've seen in the past? well, this is a test mission i've got to starliner capsule model here right now. but they have a lot of small rcs jets there on this back part of the capsule. and that's used to orient and point the capsule in the right direction. they also have some large oh, max engines that are used to actually de-orbit the capsule to get it back to earth. so when the capsule undocked, it'll turn around backwards, fire the larger thrusters that umax thrusters and come back. the small thrusters, the rcs failed during the docking. and the problem is when it comes back to earth the capsule with the crew on board is going to separate from the service module. the capsule will come back safely with the heat shield and a parachute and the service module is going to burn up so they won't have the thrusters to look at and analyze. they won't have the helium tanks that had some
10:53 am
leaks to look at they need to keep it on the space station for as long as they need to get the data, they need for this separation in the service module burns up i see. so it's not necessarily that they can't get back to earth in the spacecraft. it's more so that they want to be able to analyze it as closely as possible for the future. is that right? >> absolutely so this is a test flight for the contract, boeing needs to fly a successful test mission before it certified certified as the gold standard at nasa so the next flight is supposed to be what we call an operational flight. it'll have four astronauts. it'll be a normal rotation taking astronauts to and from the station. so they really want that big giant certification stamp so that they can consider the vehicle operational. so i think they're taking as long as they need to make sure they can get that certification. there was an emergency. we just heard in the press conference, the crew would jump in close the hatch and come back to earth. and i don't think there'll be any, no one expects any problems at all but they do want that certification stamp and so it's a lot better to take a few extra weeks now
10:54 am
than to have to fly an entire another test mission which boeing and nasa definitely don't want yeah, it's expensive, i imagine pilot sunny williams is also expecting that everything is going to go as planned. here's some of what she said during the briefing we've been through a lot of simulations for this spacecraft to go through all sorts of iterations of failures. and i think where we are right now in what we know right now and how this spacecraft flu as it was coming in to do the docking, as butch described, i feel confident that if we had to if there was a problem with the international space station we can get in our spacecraft and we can undock, talk to our team and figure out the best way to come home so you would have no qualms about getting in the starliner and coming back to earth there would be any concerns you might have no, not at all. >> in fact, the starliner has
10:55 am
already flown two times unmanned, so they've already undocked, done that, what we call the deorbit burn to slow it down and bring it back to earth. they've already gone through this fiery 17,000 mile an hour re-entry. the parachutes come out, its landed safely, so they've they've actually tested at twice without shots on board and the problems that they have would not cause any problem for re-entry. again, i think for the drama here is that the astronauts aren't quote unquote stuck in space. they're not really stuck in space, but they are getting a few bonus weeks on the space station. what's it like when you're up there? what's the in-flight entertainment to help you pass the extra weeks that you're not stranded, but waiting up there well ironically, i had the same exact thing happened during my last flight a russian cargo ship blew up and it's the same rocket that launches the humans on the soyuz. and so they decided to do a safety investigation before they launched our replacement crew. and because they didn't want us to come to earth until the replacement crew is ready. i
10:56 am
ended up stuck on the space station and ended up being in about a month extra time. but we didn't know how long we were going to be there and we were kinda low on supplies because the cargo ships, several head blown up, so i was in a similar situation, we use them the best of it. i helped film and imax movie called a beautiful planet i just use it as some bonus time and space. and it was a little bit stressful and concerning for the family, you know, they had summer plans, but in the big picture, big scheme of things they want to make sure they're safe. and these two astronauts are going to be more than happy to get a few extra weeks and space and the station astronauts are going to be happy to get some free labour. you can never have enough workers on the space station. so this is free free labor to knock off the honeydew list, which is always a space station yeah, nice to have additional company while you're out there. space can be a lonely place. colonel virts. thanks so much for sharing your story with us. appreciate thanks for having me on course. >> still to come. it's one thing you do not want to hear
