nominations. good afternoon, everyone. i am the executive director here at the nationally known new hampshire institute of politics at saint anselm college. we are so happy to be hosting this fantastic event that we do every four years. this is because new hampshire is the place where if you want to practice your civic activities and be part of democracy, this is the place to come. once again we are hosting this lesser-known candidate forum at the new hampshire institute of politics. i want to welcome up our secretary of state, david scanlan, who is going to provide some opening remarks. david. >> well, good afternoon, and thank you, neil. thank you to saint anselm's college and the institute of politics are hosting this event, and especially and came in who has
6:49 pm
put a lot of work into this, and the students that help out with the registration and the logistics. we appreciate the very experienced well-known, and highly respected panelists of journalists today. we have holly -- from ap who will be asking questions and kevin from the union leader. both of them have done a great job. most of all, we appreciate all of the candidates that have shown up today for this event. this is a tremendous opportunity for you, and it is a great opportunity for the voters of new hampshire to have you here. this is the 14th lesser-known candidate form that has been held once every four years since 1972, so if you do the math, that spans a period of more than 50 years. this event has become an iconic part of the new hampshire first of the nation tradition.
6:50 pm
lesser-known candidate forum is a great example of the importance of the first in the nation new hampshire presidential primary. new hampshire may be the only state that provides a true opportunity for any qualified united states citizen who aspires to become president to actually try to make it happen, and you are seeing it happen here today. an example of the other side of that equation is recently there was a very large state in the south that decided to cancel their presidential primary and simply certify the nomination of the incumbent president of the united states, bypassing this process. in new hampshire, ballot access is very easy, and running for president in this state does not require high name recognition, great wealth, or political connections is simply a willingness to walk down any
6:51 pm
main street in new hampshire and have the ability to connect with voters. all of the candidates here today are a testament to that fact. in the end, the voters of new hampshire will decide their choice for being the nominee for president of the united states, and that is the way it should be. also, for the candidates, having the ability to compete at the beginning of the nominating process is critically important to their success. if they can do well in new hampshire, they can carry that forward to other states, where as if this process occurred at the end of the nominating process, it would be pretty much meaningless. with that, good luck to all of you in this form tonight, and with that i would like to introduce josh mcalpine is going to be our moderator -- personality of the state and has done this before and done a fine job.
6:52 pm
>> thank you, sir. appreciate it. secretary scanlan, anyone. i've never done it with 18 candidates, so we are going to move things along quickly. a couple of rules of the road, no props, hold your applause, and don't be disruptive. be respectful of the people next to you. is not an easy thing to do, but for all you lesser-known candidates, maybe there is a dimon in the rough. let's get things started in the top row my introduce yourself and tell us where you are running. >> microphone check, thank you all for being here. thank you to the institute of politics for allowing me to have a platform and to share this stage. i am frankie lozada and i am honored to share my story and vision for the future of america with you all. i am a proud american with a puerto rican heritage shaped by the streets of hollis, new york for the past 15 years have organized events across the country but it was my experience working with asylum

seeking families and unaccompanied minors at the border that changed my life. i'm not a typical politician. i don't accept corporate funding. i rely on grassroots supports. i've seen the flaws in our system, and it is time for a change. my vision goes beyond politics. i want to uplift minority communities, boost businesses, homeownership, and education. what sets me apart is my commitment to the 99% of americans who deserve better. i believe in eliminating dirty money in politics. it is time for term limits and time to focus on fighting poverty in america. my dedication also intends to honor the sacrifices of our veterans and make sure that we dedicate our resources so that the veteran is ever less homeless, sick, alone, or deported. i stand for unity, leading with love in a time of divisiveness. as martin luther king jr. said, love is the greatest force in the universe. together we can bring america back together, prioritize education, and create opportunities for all. before i end, i would like to
6:54 pm
remember roberto clemente's words. anytime you have the opportunity to make a difference in this world and you don't, then you are wasting your time on earth. i am wanting to make a difference, to lift latino spirits and remind every american that their voice matters. together we can shape the world and make americans stream again. thank you, and let us create a brighter future for all americans. >> thank you sir. let's hold applause until everyone is finished in the interest of times. mr. limes, please. >> good evening. my name is stephen patrick limes. i was asked by this prestigious institution if you questions, what is the most single important issue to me in this election. i couldn't answer that, because i had quite a few serious issues . the economy, taking care of our kids and u.s. citizens first , protecting our american children, china threats to our

national security, closing the borders, drug and human trafficking, becoming self- sufficient again, climate change, balancing the budget, mental health care, cyber warfare, taking back our streets and neighborhoods while the thieves, robbers, murderers, and all other criminals. care for senior citizens so they don't have to go back to work again after they retire. women's rights to be able to make their choice for their bodies. both sides of the government are broken. nothing gets done. the last three administrations set the deficit up so high that future generations will never be able to pay it off. i have no illusions. i'm coming into the fourth quarter with minutes left against the millionaires and billionaires and large greedy corporations that are heavily influencing and shaping the way they want the united states to be run. no sir, no ma'am. i stand here
6:56 pm
in front of you this afternoon with no ious or -- in my pocket. i cannot be bought or bribed. i am untouchable, always have been and always will be. my shield now belongs to your shield of protection. >> have to ask you to wrap it up. >> all right, so, all you democrats, only republicans, and all your independence, immoderate as they come. please go to my website, made and donate. lyons 2024 . i am starting tomorrow. you can follow me on twitter and instagram. >> thank you sir. >> on the last of my kind, a dying breed. >> thank you. next. >> my name is raymond murray rose -- ukraine and defeat hamas
6:57 pm
. thank you to saint anselm's college for inviting me and thank you for c-span for all of the programming that you do, especially the book festivals around the u.s. i've learned so much. i am running for president to protect the workers and the working class. if elected i would help protect the middle class by increasing unions and union membership. to do that i would increase the powers of the national labor relations board to find big corporations, amazon, tesla, for fighting unions. also profamily and would like to think president biden for being the first sitting president to walk the picket line in the uaw strike. this is helped the labor union movement tremendously. not like president reagan who back in the day fired all of the air traffic controllers, and since then, they've given corporations the go-ahead to crucify labor unions and as a result unionization in the

united states is down 10% today. we need at least 30 to 40% to help keep corporations honest and give these workers good wages. >> 10 seconds left. >> i would also like to thank them for the lowest unemployment rate in 60 years, under 4%. please about in your own economic interest and benefit by voting democratic, and i would also like to come if you don't vote for me, rely on biden to help the workers, and if you are irish -- >> thank you, sir. >> make president biden proud -- >> thank you. appreciate that. >> thank you. thank you saint anselm's for having me here. my name is derek naito -- wow. i was born and raised here right in new hampshire. i down the road in merrimack. i attended high school and community college right here in

new hampshire and went on to learn from some of the greatest mentors a guy could ever ask for. i am a small business owner, inventor, and was recently referred for two jobs at nasa. i have several green energy paint and pending examination in the u.s. pto which i submitted two patents for humanity. i solve problems and connect people. it is what i do. my main goal running for president of the united states is to put the power back into the people's hands. for far too long, our government was formed on the three branches system in which we've seen these powers go unchecked, abused, and thrown out of balance to negatively affect our people. i believe now more than ever, america is looking for a people's champion, one who is not a lifetime politician, corporate liaison, or a dictator. this is going to take tackling issues and making changes that many people and politicians are unwilling to touch, but these
7:00 pm
are very real issues facing our country today and need to be dealt with. i believe in putting people first. i believe we need someone willing to put people ahead of their own interests. i have in fact put my own money, time, and energy into running for office. in fact, i am in donating my campaign proceeds to the state of new hampshire in the form of energy projects and afterschool programs for children. i encourage everyone at this table and not at this table to do the same. i am asking me american people to stop voting for their favorite color and who you trust your children's future with. >> we are >> america needs an upgrade in our country is entangled in too many foreign wars. our congress is dysfunctional and our leadership is geriatric. it is time to pass this to a

new generation who are standing up and ready to put their hat in the rain. we understand the 21st century while remaining committed to the values that are eternal here in america. liberty, justice for all, and the pursuit of happiness. i am a unique candidate submitting myself for public service. i have been working in the world of business and philanthropy and with colleges and universities for the last 25 years of my life. i worked at the bill and melinda gates foundation and i have been a turnaround leader and i have worked with more than 20 entrepreneurs that have created jobs and more than $1 billion in capitalization. we need someone who actually knows how to fix things and bring solutions to this country. that is what i have done over
7:02 pm
the course of my life. i have architected a platform based on three pillars i want to explain to you. >> you have 20 seconds. >> i will do it in 20 seconds. the first is conscious capitalism. there is a way here in new england to reorganize our economy around b corporations instead of c corporations and we can upscale jobs for the 21st century and modernize government. it is something we can do together. >> in your name, sir. >> jason palmer, baltimore, maryland. >> okay, next. >> good afternoon, my name is donald mccart and i am from cambridge, massachusetts and i am happy to be here today. i want to begin by thanking the organizers of this for him. when i began months ago, i had
7:03 pm
a stretch goal to participate in a presidential debate and here i am. i also want to thank the other panelists and i am honored we are sharing the pallet together and it is very exciting. i want to be clear too that i do not feel like i am running against president job biden. it is not just a name on the ballot. i feel that voters are clamoring to be able to make a choice. it is not healthy for our democracy and that there democratic party in particular for there to be a presumptive nominee. i wanted to have my name on the ballot so people could make a choice and i fully expect they will choose biden. that's okay but i want them to vote. if they vote in the primary and it is active and healthy and exciting, they are more like you to come when it is time.
7:04 pm
thank you. >> thank you, next candidate. >> hello. >> hello. >> the average american is lucky if they have $400 in their bank account for a rainy day. since the pandemic, 700 billionaires have increased their wealth by $2.2 trillion. the politicians and leaders are doing theater on us. we need to start spreading love and we need to do that in a major way. it is our time. i am an artist, activists and author who has built a movement over 80,000 strong based on love and creative solutions for the future. we need more policies based strictly on love . we need policies that give positive reinforcement. the same way you can get a ticket for doing something bad or
7:05 pm
negative, you should be able to get a love ticket for doing something positive in your community and helping your fellow people. when i am president, i will give away $1 million to 1 million people in the country every year that are doing something positive for their community as a way to inspire and help motivate positive change. we need old, drastic solutions to spread love instead of funding war and genocide in places like gaza and congo to keep our economy alive. >> 10 seconds. >> most politicians use fear to control you and i am here with love, inspiration and logic. it is our time, thank you so much. >> thank you, sir, next candidate, please. >> hey, america, i am a candidate for president of the
7:06 pm
united states and as a veteran it would be my honor to serve as commander-in-chief. it would be impossible to introduce myself into minutes but you can go to my website and read all about me there. you will learn i am an independent democrat and an outsider in politics. i am really team america and i love all americans regardless of how you vote. you will learn i have been on my own since i was 14 years old after my father was murdered. you will learn i am a dad and i come from a family of veterans and a life member of the vfw. the navy took me all over the world including most of europe, the middle east and north africa . i worked my way through college as a bartender, a so is shout out to furred's issued service people. i worked as a stockbroker and for the university of baltimore and then worked for a think tank. not too shabby for a kid from a trailer park. i have been the owner of a large art company and we make statuary for public
7:07 pm
art. i specialize in military monuments and there are over 700 monuments around the country with my name on it. you will discover i am single. we have never had a single president before but we've never had a presidential wedding before either. >> 10 seconds. >> if you don't vote for me, it will be the start of the zombie apocalypse. >> thank you for your service, we appreciate that. >> then the starship enterprise will have to come to earth and save the world. i am happy to share my solutions for defeating the zombies. >> sir, you're out of time. thank you very much, we've got to move on. and the next candidate, you're up, sir. >> my fellow americans and others, as your president, i
7:08 pm
have promised to engage in hostilities only with powers that i deem to be a real and immediate threat to our peaceloving nation. that is why i have ordered the interdimensional strategic space force demand command for narnia in five minutes. if we do not fight them in their to mention there, we have no choice but to fight in our dimension here. it is a threat to our way of life. we will not stop until we have reached middle earth in the last is dead. in this uncertain time, we must unite as a country and let us out pray for our fearsome flying unmanned pony drones as they rained fire and death upon our subhuman enemies. and for lots and lots
7:09 pm
of hobbits. >> we need to wrap that up, thank you very much. >> we move to the next table. >> hello, my name is john valen i'm from easton in the white mountains. the first thing about me is i am not fit to be president of the united states. i thought my age at 77 would rule me out but apparently it doesn't. there are other things that would disqualify me. there is a good reason to vote for me and let me make an observation. there are many people who are hysterical about donald trump and i am hysterical about money in politics and getting it out. the largest piece of our common ground in this culture is this concern about money and politics. notice the people who went in
7:10 pm
on january six, that was one of the primary issues. the money and control of government. i understand there is a difference between tweedledee and tweedledum in this election. so, why vote for me? the question is what and not who. we are at the end of the process of electing someone who will solve this problem. what we need to do is the what and the what is the money out of politics. it is the only thing that will get us out of this thing. there is a thing about who and that doesn't really seem like much of a post between tweedledum and tweedledee and somebody who has no chance. i would say let's vote for what which is money out of politics. we are entitled as citizens to vote in that way. i want this job done and i don't care who
7:11 pm
does it. i want money out of politics. thank you. >> thank you very much. down to the front table. >> and i am from washington, d.c. and it is a player village to be here. i am a progressive activist and an atheist. to be capitalist and anti- fascist, we must reject the abortion industry and in particular later abortions. every single day in this nation, thousands of families feel they must choose between having their unborn child killed. meanwhile every year in this nation, 10,000 abortions happened late in pregnancy, many for nonmedical reasons. opponents believe abortion should be respected restricted to the first trimester but this is unreviewed in the democratic party. i formed pro-life in san
7:12 pm
francisco and last year i recovered the remains of over 115 aborted babies outside of an all term abortion center. five of them were past 30 weeks and many of them were whole. some were completely dismembered . it was the worst experience of my life but they were all unmistakably human. this has changed my life forever . i am not running for president to be president, i am running to disrupt the status quo of the most egregious human rights travesty of this time. i have seen and held in my own hands the victims of abortion extremism and i will not be silenced. through my campaign, you will hear me. >> you need to wrap it up, ma'am . >> go to my website at teresa 2024.com. we can change the world and it starts here in new hampshire.
7:13 pm
>> hello, i am ethan cambridge for more than, california. the reason i am writing this because i have always been involved in politics. as an eagle scout and of truth 409 out of my church. i can see the people here contributing to their community. the reason i am running now is because i think as a political science major out of hampton, university, there are objective answers to a lot of the questions and issues we have. for example, in terms of the middle class, we need a tax cut for overtime wages so people feel encouraged to actually go to work. we need a tax on corporations buying housing and residential areas. single-family housing it is very hard for people in my generation to buy. if we tax the corporations at 30% to keep them out of the
7:14 pm
market, that would help. those things would pass without a filibuster. the reason i am running is because i have actual solutions for a lot of our problems that no one is talking about. in terms of israel, we need a one stage solution which is the united israel where palestinians and israelis are not separate but equal and are joined together into one nation. in terms of the filibuster, we need the nuclear option and we need to get rid of the filibuster so democrats can focus on things like election reform, police reform, marijuana legalization and things we have talked about for years but we have not been able to do in the american people public. go to vote cambridge 24 at instagram. and also twitter and look up my
7:15 pm
policies. please support a gofundme vote cambridge 24. >> next candidate, please. >> good evening, i would like to give everyone their opportunity to express their vision for america. i must address something that happened yesterday in my community. i am from las vegas and there was a mass shooting on the unlv campus. my thoughts are with the community and i want to encourage them to demonstrate. for the rest of my fellow americans, my name is gabriel and i am actually an entrepreneur. i am just a guy who does work when work needs to be done. in my experience in all of these places, i have learned that everybody in those communities values there families and their friends and their community most of all.
7:16 pm
that is a time in this moment that i believe we can vastly improve the experience we share together in this nation. some of those actions required to make this experience greater is taking bold action. most obvious is the state of our healthcare which is atrocious. i lived in a society with universal healthcare and the peace of mind is vastly different than what we have today. secondarily, we have a growing wealth disparity. with the well disparity, many in the community are barely surviving. and it was popularized in 2020 and i am profoundly in favor of that. i would like to help all americans take the transition of just surviving to thriving. at come to gave 2024 to help me renovate america. >> our final democratic presidential candidate. >> my name is paul and i am
7:17 pm
from the city of worcester, mass. . i want to thank everyone in attendance and i want to thank the students. i teach at a college and i have had over 5000 students. every issue brought up here tonight is relevant and important to changing the fabric of our lives. i want to thank the secretary of state. i am on the ballot this evening because of my students. they believe you need to be powerful, well-connected, and be of an elite class to participate at the highest rung of our democracy. that is not true. i may not when, but everyone has a right to run. we need not to forget that as we proceed. my background in my first professional job will be street counselor for the homeless. in the city of worcester, we had a drug problem back then and we have a serious opioid problem today. we have a serious mental
7:18 pm
health problem. to the students here, we have a crisis in our education and we need to be more current with the challenges facing us in the future. finally, finally, we need to talk about immigration in this country. people that are waiting in line for several years to be legally brought into our country, there is no need for that. people who are in our country currently, we need to find a pathway to make them productive citizens. we are all the same. we are a divided country and we need to come back to be a unified country. and my biggest fan in life is robert kennedy. some people see things as they are and he said, i see things that never were and ask why not. we need to change. >> thank you and how about we
7:19 pm
interject some q&a. i would like to welcome a democratic candidate with an issue him from being on stage but thank you. the first question comes from -- who was the first one, i forget. >> from the associated press. >> we are here today after a gunman killed three people and wounded a fourth. a few weeks after that right here in new hampshire, a security guard was shot and killed. what, if anything, needs to happen at the federal level to combat this kind of violence? >> all right, i appreciate the question. i alluded to living in another country and that country was canada. while i lived there, i asked why is that they are so polite
7:20 pm
and why is it they have a reputation for being kind? i concluded that it is peace of mind that comes with universal healthcare. they do not have a war on drugs like we do which is in perpetuity, unfortunately. i'm not against the second amendment and it has a place, especially at the time when it was enacted. if we are being honest with each other, there is a distinction between having a firearm to defend yourself in a firearm that has no place in public. in terms of taking away guns, i don't think that is something most americans will be in favor of. i do think it is important to regulate where and when the gardens are used. if you are sportsmen are hunter, these distinctions along with training in mental health assessments, these are all actions that i believe will take us into a safer place than what we have now which is
7:21 pm
basically a lot of loopholes when it comes to regulations. >> thank you very much, you guys need to keep your answers under one minute unlike the opening statement so we can get its many people as possible. >> it comes down to accountability and we have to raise accountability. what is happening is that too many folks are getting access to guns they should not have. whether does background checks or training, everyone who holds a firearm should have training. to understand the power they hold in their hand and to no what they can do. in the accountability as far as access to guns. i believe every gun should have a blockchain indicator that can be traced and i need to no where every part came from and to track it down from the manufacturer to the purchase.
7:22 pm
that will reduce ghost guns on the streets and reduce crime from gain. once you hold people accountable. >> and track enforcement. >> i agree with both of these gentlemen but i will go further. they need to have not just boxes but safes. not as safe you can open with digital that but it has to be spun barrel. we need to touch more on these guns and make better laws. mental health, like they said and everything like that. i believe in the second amendment, i do, but we need to change some laws to protect people. >> thank you very much. ma'am? >> you've got to be ready. >> sure, i think we do not have a culture of life in this country. we literally allow unborn children to be murdered with impunity through the ninth
7:23 pm
month of president pat pregnancy like in seven states in this nation. i recognize a gun problem in this country and we do need common sense gun laws, but we also need to recognize another genocide going on in the death toll is in the tens of thousands every single year. we need to acknowledge that in take that seriously, especially as democrats. it is our party perpetuating this injustice. >> thank you very much, sir. >> as an emt and a licensed emt, i transport people in danger to themselves known as 5150s. we need a website so medical professionals, when someone admits they are a danger to themselves, they can go onto the website and enter that and they are flagged so law
7:24 pm
enforcement agents go to that person's house and get their guns if they acknowledge they are a danger to self. we also need free gun registration across the board so people can easily register their guns and so we can track the guns. once again, if you look at you've all the and other situations, these are people with mental health situations that went on a rampage. we don't have a system to check their guns before they do it. >> all right, you have fellow candidates down the line. >> it is a two-tier problem. number one i think the firepower on the street needs to be checked. i also think that people who want to get illegal guns will secure illegal guns. we have a bigger problem in this country
7:25 pm
with mental health. we need to look at the family's and our children and why our children are turning towards distraction with weapons. i firmly believe in the second amendment. i believe there is probably too much firepower on the street for what is needed but there is an adequate amount of help for our children relative to the issues going on today. i want to give manchester a shout out for their engage program dealing with the opioid crisis. >> thank you, sir. >> you know how many guns there are in the united states? there are 400 million in its insanity. ar-15 and a regular hunting rifle, you don't need an ar-two dean.
7:26 pm
he said the second amendment interpretation was the greatest travesty in history. the number one cause of death with guns is suicide and it is mental health issues. i mean, you've got to take these guns away. some people have 200 or 300 guns in their house. >> you have said what is the most important thing. >> first, i do believe in the second amendment. i believe in -- you have three more seconds. >> i believe in digitizing gun records with the goal to be to keep guns out of the hands of felons. digitizing the gun records is crucial to that. i also believe in reoccurring revenue to improve that process so the united states has terrorism insurance but we don't have mass violence. i
7:27 pm
think we need the reoccurring revenue from that as well. so digitizing the gun records and getting them out of the hands of people who should not have them which includes the felons and mentally unstable people. >> next candidate, please. >> this issue is why 90% of young americans are tuning out of politics. >> the issue has occurred over and over again and we have not come up with a bipartisan plan to resolve it. i have a bipartisan plan to resolve it which is called gun violence reduction. it respects the second amendment and the right of people to bear arms but also focuses on evidence-based solutions that will work to reduce gun violence. those include things like gun training for new gunowners. those include things like
7:28 pm
preventing semi automatic weapons from being in the homes of people who have been convicted of domestic violence. those involved red flag laws related to the mental health of individuals. you will notice i am saying this calmly and the reason is because people get inflamed over this issue. there is a bipartisan evidence based way to solve the problem in as president i intend to solve it within the first year of my administration. >> thank you, sir. >> i am a software engineer and maybe this is a different way of looking at the problem. i think we are focusing too much on the people who carry the guns and not the people who choose not to. i think it is possible, using technology, so the people are aware if there is a gun in the room. i don't care who has the gun, i
7:29 pm
just want to no it is there so i can choose to be elsewhere. i would like to have no gun restaurants and walk into a restaurant and no guns are there. much like non-smoking areas that we used to have back in the day when everyone smoked. >> thank you. you have 30 seconds. >> right now we have a culture of gun violence in this country . we have an extreme gun culture and what we need is an extreme love culture. if we are not coming together and spreading love in a real way , this gentleman next to me, i didn't have a water in front of me and he gave me water. if we don't have energy in the world that wants people to come together with love, we will keep pushing each other away with hate. right now the gun violence, first off, is a local issue. it is not so much as a national
7:30 pm
issue as local and needs to be taken care of in each locality. the biggest thing is coming together with love and creating what i call love centers where people can get together and learn about each other and their community. >> that water may have made him a millionaire if he is elected president. >> this is one of the reasons i came here. democrats and republicans cannot talk to one another. the reason is democrats want all or nothing on guns and republicans want all or nothing on abortion. americans don't generally agree and they do overwhelmingly by the polls. yet, the politicians do not feel comfortable to get behind it. what we need is a president . >> by the way, abortion is the same thing. democrats failed to acknowledge that abortion is bad and unfortunate. they never acknowledge that and
7:31 pm
that's the same that republicans are doing with gun rights. i was a republican turned democrat. >> you got to wrap it up, sir. >> i think there should be more bipartisan conversations about this and bring gunowners to the table. >> that is obviously problem- solving 101. >> the supreme will take away your guns and give you better one this. these better guns will shoot marshmallows but they will still be lethal. >> there is an internet rumor that i am a super evil human trying to turn humans into ponies. no, but i do support the human and pony hybrids.
7:32 pm
>> thank you mr. supreme. >> there is more on our website which is send no money.org. if we took the second amendment seriously and that it had to do with well regulated militia is, we would have an opening for taking guns and putting them into armories. the military type hardware where it is locked up and controlled and released when necessary with training and supervision. >> thank you, let's go to our panel. >> you referenced an endless war we will start this question with you. regarding the war in gaza, should the u.s. insist upon an extended cease-fire in order to get the american hostages out of israel or should we defer to the military and political leadership as time goes forward? >> i am a baker bike background
7:33 pm
and i think all life is precious and every life has value. a cease-fire is what the united states should be recommending with regard to the israeli in gaza conflict. to do everything in our power to minimize the loss of life. this conflict has been going on for decades in america keeps kicking the can down the road. we need true leadership here. hamas who committed the atrocities need to be brought to justice but not at the expense of the palestinian people. both the israelis and palestinians are living under corrupt governments. we can hold to thoughts and our heads at the same time and we need to focus on loss of life. >> thank you very much.
7:34 pm
>> i think back to when we were attacked by terrorists in the reaction in our country. we wanted to bomb everything because we were so hurt and and what the solution would be. i think it is an understandable reaction but i don't think it meets the goal of a solution. you cannot really bomb people into peace and i don't know if a cease-fire is the answer or if we can dictate what the answers to be but i appreciate we should have influence to bring about peace as soon as is possible. >> should the u.s. have a cease- fire to get american hostages out or to follow the military. >> i do support the cease-fire and i believe america should pressure both sides to come to
7:35 pm
the table and i think it is important for both countries to pressure their president to come to the table to find a solution. i do not support funding a religious war. i believe not putting americans further into debt to fund a religious war. it is up to the people of israel in gaza and america, as president, to pressure these people in charge to come to the table to find a solution. >> thank you. >> they started it and they should all be dead. >> next candidate, please. >> i can't see your name. >> steve lyons. >> staying out of four is harder than going into war. hamas attacked israel and
7:36 pm
israel has the right to protect themselves but not at the cost of all palestinians. the kids and women are in the sending got hurt. you give them a week and get all of the palestinians out of there that are innocent and then let israel go in there. they have a right to protect themselves but not at the expense of innocent human beings and little kids like that. thank you. >> nobody deserves to be terrorized. at that same token, fear mongering should not be tolerated. it is having faith in people and i think deep down nobody wants to see anybody lose in life. everybody in this room has lost someone and it is devastating. i don't believe
7:37 pm
what innocent israelis or innocent palestinians believe. i think there is ways we can promote peace and work together . at least to stop the violence. >> ma'am. >> as a pro-lifer, i have a deep commitment to nonviolence and in violent should only be used in the most egregious situations. life matters, obviously, and we need to take this seriously. watching my instagram feed and seeing how many are commenting on the plight of children in palestine and israel, i obviously sympathize with that deeply but i am constantly shocked by my peer's inability to see the genocide happening here and now and i encourage everyone to look at those
7:38 pm
victims. >> ethan cambridge and as an intern for barbara lee, i have experienced of working for the only person who voted against the patriot act and voting against going to war in iraq. we need to rethink about this in terms of the original sin of the creation of israel is that we did disenfranchise the palestinians when we created israel. to bring that back into focus and fix that problem, we have to number one bring palestinian refugees back to israel and we have to create an environment in which both people can find peace. which means possibly using the you in to reformulate the country. for example, israel is currently breaking international law by building settlements in palestine. we are not doing anything about
7:39 pm
it. last but not least, nelson mandela in south africa with the ending of apartheid, the job was not done because there was still apartheid in palestine. we have no control of what has been happening because we have been propping up israel far too long. >> thank you for participating. >> i want to be deadly serious. we have a lot of leverage here and these are our allies. our allies are bombing american citizens who were taking hostage and that does not benefit anybody, especially us. as commander-in-chief, my thought would be bringing back americans. it is necessary for all americans and all who and kidnapped. because we have this
7:40 pm
leverage, it is important to leverage the fact that we can push for peace. it is possible to come to solutions because they are our allies. with the might of the military, that is not something i am in agreement with because peace is possible and we do have leverage. >> thank you very much. >> it is an extremely complex issue. first and foremost, the pain and emotion are the same on both sides. a mother holding her child on the other side of the equation of this battle feel the same pain. i believe in a two state solution. i believe we are finding $100 million, potentially. we do have leverage and i do believe, though, that terrorists need to
7:41 pm
be eliminated. peace is a wonderful thing and i promote it and believe in it. when there is cancer, the cancer needs to be eliminated to make the body healthy again. so, i believe both sides have a right to live in peace. i believe the international community need to eliminate the terrorists so both sides can live in peace. >> thank you. mr. vale. >> of course there should be a cease-fire. the point is to have water going forward. i am a christian and my church uses part of its liturgy for confession. i am thankful for people like ernie sanders who has the strength of courage to stand up and call out the israeli
7:42 pm
government for the mistakes it is making. if we were all calling out the people in our own tribes, we would be much better off. >> thank you. mr. supreme, i love the idea of a marshmallow gun, but this is a sensitive area, what are your thoughts? >> i believe i addressed this in my opening remarks and i believe in a two state solution . it has been a long time since america has had states added and would be of wound to the flag making. i believe we could put israel somewhere in wyoming in palestine somewhere in texas for a little breathing room. thank you very much. >> thank you. >> to directly answer your question, they are complex
7:43 pm
negotiating situations and i don't believe we have the power to include hamas very much. there have been prisoner swaps but generally, i would agree there should be a pause to get americans out of there if there is any way at all. >> i appreciate that and wrapping up this topic. >> think you. i'm sorry, i can't remember. >> it is paperboy love prints. >> we need to spread love across the world in a real way and take that very, very seriously. if you have war, some people when they hear shooting outside, they get afraid even though they are not coming from you, you get afraid. if there is war on your soil in your home, it is a terrifying thing. love and inspiration, if we
7:44 pm
actually tried that and put $800 billion into spreading love and for supporting citizens in a way that regenerates that love . right now we create more terror. the more war and energy and hate, we are creating more terrorists and people bloodthirsty with hate and negativity. why can't we create people that want more love and more unity and more passion. to create a future we no is possible to live as our highest selves. >> thank you. now back to the panelists and the associated press. >> president biden who finished fifth in the new hampshire primary four years ago in skipping this and secretary scanlan referenced florida democrats scrapping their primary altogether. what do you
7:45 pm
make of these moves in the process by which we choose nominees? >> it is bull ship. >> please be respectful of the crowd, folks. >> this is a little state and you can get open ideas. i think what he is trying to do is go to the turf that is safe for him and trying to push people out. it is passing the baton, essentially and he is not ready to do that. his poll numbers were abysmal and he should allow for a new generation to come out and run this country and he is not doing that. >> if you agree, please
7:46 pm
abbreviate the adjective. >> i will say i ran for congress in 2020 with $20 and i got 14,000 boat. i empowered a lot of people in the campaign. in 2020 i ran for mayor of new york city and got 80,000 votes and was able to platform issues that folks were not talking about at all. i ran for city council just this year in new york and congress in 2020, the year before that. what is my point? it is important to have folks that put pressure on the system and that is what democracy is about. we have so little representation as it is and we should be finding more ways with all of the technology and communication, we should find more ways for folks to come together and hyperfocus on these issues. to get morphosis
7:47 pm
more voices into the conversation. >> you need to wrap it up. >> there are folks with positive things to say. >> we need to let your fellow condit candidates have something to say. >> i will be quick. i think back on the philosophical movie, kung fu panda. it shows if you act out of fear that your fear will be realized. that is something we are realizing with the approaches the democratic party is taking. they are afraid biden will make a mistake and threaten the democratic election. >> thank you. >> i will add this is probably the most important election of our generation. it is very important there be a positive vision of the future that the democratic party put out for this election. if it is
7:48 pm
just against trump, we see the polling and how it will go. there needs to be a positive vision of the future and a movement of people to be ready for november of next year. my hat is in the ring to put that out with a large group of people behind me. >> and what is your take on it? >> i think president biden is actually afraid of everyone here . he is trying to change the rules to benefit himself and go to a state where he feels more comfortable and uses excuses for that. new hampshire is first in the nation for over a century. president biden will change the rules to benefit himself or his family. a double standard is usually his tactic to go to. >> demographically, it makes
7:49 pm
sense for biden to do it. the next time around, it will be back to normal and you will have new hampshire first. i think he needs this win because if the other side gets in, it is a white nationalist and fascist party. after biden gets in, we will go back to the new hampshire first policy. it's all about race like a lot of things in the country. >> thank you, sir, appreciate it . what do you think? >> it reminds me of what trump did. he was not allowing people to vote and it was ridiculous. what biden is doing now is just as worse. let the people vote. you might be surprised. it is terrible what they do. they use their political powers
7:50 pm
to say, i'm going to take away florida. you can't do that. let the people vote for who they want. i don't think biden has a chance this year. he is doing exactly what he criticized trump for and it's wrong. >> do you agree? >> it is devastating, i will tell you that. i don't no how many candidates are looking to be on the ballot, but there are eight so far. other states said we are only putting joe biden on the ballot. i represent a latino community and we don't have a platform and that's why representation is important. let me speak. if you take florida away from me , it is the highest population
7:51 pm
outside of connecticut for puerto ricans and a huge battleground for me. i should be there and i'm allowed to and i think the states for honoring those ballot access laws and allowing us. >> thank you. >> this is not the first time that joe biden and the dnc have ignored the will of the voters. they have ignored the democrats who think abortion should be restricted to the first trimester. in fact, the democratic party removed inclusion language that allowed diversity of views on the abortion issue and replaced it with unrestricted abortion on taxpayer dollars. does that represent you? they did it anyway. >> what made george washington great? >> it wasn't that he won
7:52 pm
battles or was the first president. it was the opportunity that when he had to be king, he walked away and that made america great. joe biden is holding on to power in a way that if we continue down that road whether it is biden or trump, we are seeing our democracy dies slowly. i know that i called the tennessee democratic party in the michigan democratic party and i did not receive answers and those parties were integral in getting me on the ballot. the state democratic delegate plan, tennessee's says you need to have your name in by december 10. >> keep your focus and we are trying to talk about new hampshire. >> i'm talking about the national race. >> wrap it up. >> they voted on who they were going to nominate and what
7:53 pm
names to send to the secretary of state a whole month before. those are the kinds of things done in secrecy and make people feel this country is it really worth it. >> i'm sorry to wrap you, but we've got to get everybody in. >> we have all of these ideas to be heard and thank you for allowing the voters to determine who is the right leadership for them. what this indicates to the rest of america. if you are not willing to allow other candidates to be presentable to the constituency , are you indicating your strength? if you are afraid of competition from lesser-known candidates, how do you think you will hold up against trump? >> the reason i am in this race is because i couldn't stand for trump or biden 2.0. we start at
7:54 pm
the top and take action and give power to the people to vote . thank you for this opportunity and i hope the rest of the states here this and i hope they follow. >> thank you. >> to reiterate what my students said earlier. to be powerful, you need to be connected and you have to be an institutional player to access ballots. i also want us to think about our party when we talk about the republican party. the republican party trying to deny access to people to go out and vote and participate. let's look at our voting machinery. the people that are keeping people off the ballot and setting up the plan about going to new hampshire first and that is a tradition.
7:55 pm
it is our own machinery that is creating a message to our young people that the game is rated. >> thank you, sir. i appreciate that you didn't get to part just paid on this but we need to look to the closing statements. >> the website at send no money.or, michael is to serve as a valid line. you can vote for what and not who. money out of politics and that's all i can say. >> thank you for participating. mr. spring. >> remember there are two types of people on this planet. those who love ponies and those who will not survive the transition times. the road will not be easy and not all of us will make it. there will be hardships and there will be sacra vices. human sacrifices.
7:56 pm
let me tell you this, the road will be paved with our vanquished enemies. >> we need to wrap it. >> you are from the website. >> thank you, sir. >> it has been really great and i'm glad to be here and appreciate the opportunity. i don't no how i got so lucky. >> you did great. >> i am a serious candidate and i really do think i have leadership skills to do the job and to have people listen to what i have to say and it is difficult to get media traction in this country. biden is doing abysmally and the mess at the border has not
7:57 pm
gotten better. the problems with his son will just not go away. if you want more years of the same thing, vote for biden to get gridlock and investigation. >> thank you very much, appreciate that. >> paperboy. >> can everybody say love? >> love. >> everybody say love. >> say love. >> i am bringing love to the community. i am being positive, what's it going to do to me? >> i am in new hampshire bringing unity. it is our time, thank you so much, new hampshire. i love you so much and i'm so excited about the future of this country. this is about making a statement for the future of
7:58 pm
this country and taking a hard pivot from the politics of the past and bringing things together with radical love and unity. i'm not ashamed or afraid and proud to stand and i am happy to be here with you. say it one more time, love. >> love. >> and this is a high five for america. >> i love the energy and positivity, thank you very much. >> i am don picard and i was raised in a republican family even though i have ended democrat my entire adult life. one thing i want to caution is you may not support trump, and please don't. but you should listen. i know of people in my family who are highly educated and well informed although their information is different than mine. you need to be able
7:59 pm
to talk. you can disagree but don't dehumanize anyone. you can actually talk your ideas through or your be creating more problems. thank you. >> one minute. >> hello, again, my name is jason palmer and my website is jason palmer .us. when i first came in earlier, i talked with fellow candidates and i was interesting to hear how people were saying similar things. yet love, unity, working together, working across real lines. it is so impressive that multiple candidates mentioned they were on the ballot in multiple states like myself. we have to build our economy pp

skills for the 21st century andp embrace the technology that is our future. manchester has done a fantastic job of building up the city. i met the mayor earlier today and it is so impressive what the city has done. southern new hampshire university where i have known the president for almost 20 years, the largest university in the u.s., we can do what has been done in manchester in the entire country and i invite you to go to my website and learn more about my candidacy. thank you. >> thank you everyone for coming out tonight. thank you for hosting the event. i believe america needs a president who is in their prime. i am asking the americans to stop voting based on their favorite color and who they will trust with their children's future. more than ever we need a president who will be a champion for the people, fearless, and without bias.
8:01 pm
so help me god, i intend to break the wheel and put the power back in the hands of the people. thank you. >> elect morose. help the workers of the usa by increasing unions and if not, please write in joe biden because he has helped us tremendously in the labor movement. >> mr. lawrence. >> today is december 7. a lot of people forget what happens december 7, 1941. pearl harbor day. let's not forget this. we also must not forget the men and women serving today, protecting us and this beautiful

country. next time you see one, thank them. i want to see this country turn around in the worst way. go to my website. if you read about me, find out the truth. thank you, happy holidays, happy hanukkah tonight. >> i do not take corporate money. democratic party, you can make the race as hard as you want. in high school i was a champion

runner and my strength was running hurdles. just like back then, somehow, someway, i am going to win the gold. >> a few minutes before i found the box of aborted babies, i helped a woman in an abortion center cancel her abortion. she was facing eviction. i raised money for her because she did not want an abortion, she was just broke. it is tragic that that is what so often stands between parents being able to keep their children and and exploited industry going after them to exploit their situation for profit and this is something republicans just cannot address. it is up to us democrats to recognize the injustices happening so we can provide for people in the country, we can do

the hard work of creating safe and sustainable communities for every american and if you agree with that value, i invite you to visit my website teresa 2024.com and join the community. josh: mr. cambridge? >> i'm on instagram, twitter, facebook, vote cambridge 2024. the streets are talking. you have a lot of people like cardi b going on social media saying they do not feel energy from the democratic party. we will need those people or we will lose. i'm the only candidate constantly put up policies i know we can pass, for example, a tax cut on overtime for hourly workers, a taxon corporations

buy residential housing, more imaging at hospitals. those three things will make our health care system better, have more americans with money and increase housing. go to my gofundme vote for cambridge 2024, i need your help. thank you. >> on the oldest of three boys and my father called me the family estate manager. during the pandemic i moved to my grandfather's house because his legs stopped working. i renovated their house and looked after my grandparents ever since and that is who i am. if anything, walk away knowing my character. i look after friends, family, community. i was in a near fatal car accident in 2011 and i became

hyper aware that there might not be tomorrow. i would like to help shape the country so we all have a better experience. i would start with health care because we all know it is broken. gabe2024.com if you are interested in supporting me. >> i want us to take a moment and think about some of the people we know that are suffering in life. if you have a family member, a friend, a neighbor who have died from an overdose, i want you to think about the time you drove down your street in town and you found someone under a bridge or on the sidewalk. i want you to think about a time we would be on the road and see someone with a sign, hungry, needs help.
8:07 pm
i want you to think about the elderly you know that have to sacrifice food or medicine. and then i want us to think about how our party runs. unfortunately, too many politicians run on soundbites. we have too much work to do, too much incomplete paint to solve. i know i am not going to win but i want to thank my students for believing that anybody can run for president, anybody can get out and effectuate change in a life. thank you all. [applause] >> for a group of candidates the size, i want to thank you for being respectful of each other. let's give them a big round of applause. [applause]
