know we bow you. we know you live with day, not just memoriali had the privilege of serving in the united statesnrmy for more than four decades. every memorial those who gave alter the defense including the battle buddies who me. we got throughey did not. that will never go away. stories for hour after hour. for today i hope the story of hero may stand for so many more. on this memorial day my thoughts are with the family of u.s. army staffon apollo, pennsylvania. staff sergeant booker was a tank commander freedom in 2003.

his company commander once said that sergeant booker looked, acted, and sounded like the abrams tank he commanded. hembodied the power and the pride of the united states army. during the baghdad the sergeants units came under fire. he rushed to protect his teammates and his platoon's flank.t of the fight, he even fired backal weapon, lying exposed current for mile after mile -- his tank turret for mile after mile. was one of the first americans killed in the iraq war. i know firsthand how tough the fighting was that day. it is onlyting the army has named its n m-10 booker. that name honors staff sergeant book robert booker of nebraska who was positive she was -- he wassly awarded his stunningtunisia during world war ii.
