so surrounded by secret service, they of course protected them because that was a moment when he didn't know if there were more shoulders around. but uh donald trump immediately raised his fist. and also when he then was brought to the car, he raised his fist again and said, fight fight, fight. and the crowd reacted immediately. turning their backs actually also to join the saying, this is your fault. this is the 4th of the liberal of fault of the liberal media. so there is a lot of tension growing here and we will see over the next hours and days where this might lead to. it definitely seems like, yeah, like you say, a potentially difficult situation. it's not likely to get any better. well, you know, so i want to come back to in just a moment. but 1st, let's take a look at what i witnesses to the shooting who were standing directly behind. trump

. and i let spring enos pull our dw washington bureau chief back in for more information, as looking at those pictures of donald trump injured but totally defiant. what's the reaction to this? no, as well, he himself put out this news as saying that he was shot and the bullet appears. the apple palled him off his ear. and so that was kind of the 1st reaction we heard from him. but then the other problem and invoices are coming out there. for example, a new gingrich, the former speaker of the house, and to probably could say one of the brains between the mazda move and the make america great. again, movement. he said he was very emotional when he saw these images, he of course noticed the former president a very well and then he immediately started to blame and i quote him,

a representative from georgia and a very kind of one can say extreme ride leaning politician. and she said, i quote her here as well. may god have mercy on our enemies because we will not. so imagine the president the phone for then just got shot in the representative. a policy maker, a law maker, very, very well known lawmaker of this country says, may god have mercy on our enemies because we will not. so this is the situation we are in here arrived now and uh, uh, joe biden. and his statement, of course, try to calm down, people is saying that this is sick, sick sick and he also said that he's grateful he dro vitamins, grateful that you heard of that. uh donald trump is safe, and that to you,

joe biden is praying for him. and then he also said that there should be no place for this kind of violence in the united states, and that the united states must unite as one nation and to use condemning this extra violence. of course, a clearly it is certainly a power allowed to be drawn between those 2 sides. i mean, clearly very dramatic. got possessions from some republicans and vicious words as well. but then alternatively, as the say, president biden has condemned this shooting pretty magnanimous words. they're from bite and he referred to president trump as donald m. how likely is it that this will potentially dial back to the company that we've seen in the presidential campaign so far? i wouldn't go on hold. the often incident like beds that everyone kind of would stand for a little bit back and take
