7:02 am
they also just held a press briefing to give an update on the situation in pennsylvania. the guess we are said they were close to identifying who the shoulder was. this evening we had what we're calling an assassination attempt against our former president. donald trump. it's still an active crime scene. as i mentioned, we have a number of agents on scene. we also are working closely with other federal agencies, our state partners, and our local police partners as well. again at this time, we are not prepared to identify who the shooter is. we are close to that identification. and as soon as we are 100 percent confident in who that individually as we will share it with the press. with that being said, also we do not currently have an identified motive, although our investigators are working tirelessly to attempt to identify what that motive was. how does briefing we just saw was just in the last hour,
7:03 am
but soon after the shooting, trump made a statement of force to meet up that on to for so, but he passed the united states secret service for those rapid response. trump has said i was shocked with the bullets for the pos, the upper part of my right ear. i knew immediately that something was wrong. i heard a whizzing sound shots and immediately felt the bullet tripping to the skin, much bleeding to play it. so i realized then what was happening now soon after the shooting attempt to us president joe biden also issued a statement. so i've been fairly brave my all the agencies of the federal government has some situation based on what we know now. i have tried to get ahold of donald, he's versus doctors they apparently he's doing well. i plan on talking now shortly . i hope when i get back to the telephone book, there's no place in america for this kind of violence. it's sick. it's sick. it's
7:04 am
one of the reason why we have to unite this country. we cannot allow for this to be happening. we cannot be like this. we cannot condone this strong woods fast on president biden, and from mo i'm joined now, but you've got to be corresponding. janetta do my loud from washington dc. so it's good to have you with us. i wanna start by talking about this briefing that we just had a lot of questions but nothing to answer. what's it out to you? oh yes, let me so. so at that briefing in butler, pennsylvania, which of course is where that incident took place, saw representatives from the f b i who are leading a multi agency investigation. and to this matter, run down a number of points. they say that they've deployed considerable resources in getting to the bottom of this, so they have investigative teams on the ground. they, they have bomb analysts, they have intelligence analysts. they also put out
7:05 am
a public called for witnesses telling witnesses to call 1800 f b i. if they had any information, they also set up a digital dropbox for witnesses to drop in video. so they have a number of agents on the scene, which of course is still considered an active crime scene. now in that sound bite that you played earlier, the f b i representative said that they were not at this point prepared to release details about the identity of the shooter. the associated press is however, reporting that the shooter is a white male in his twenty's. from pennsylvania, but of course, so we haven't yet to hear the official f b. i a confirmation on that. we also we also have heard that they are quote, working tirelessly to uncover a motive. no motive has surfaced just yet. now what stood out to me especially was
7:06 am
that there were a lot of questions of for so for the secret service, of course. so this is the main agency that is meant to guarantee the security of former president donald trump. they were meant to guarantee his security at that event, but they were not represented at this briefing and as such, many of the questions that perhaps could have been directed at them as of yet have been left unanswered. exactly, and we'd know they'd be announced that this is being investigated as an assassination attempt. you mentioned that there's been some reports before the show to may be were there any other details shed in this briefing about perhaps if the pseudo was acting alone? it's not clear yet whether these weren't loan bullets, shootings. it's also not clear yet whether the, the, whether there are more reasons to assume that so the former president remains under threats. but so this is we, we do expect some answers in the next ours,
7:07 am
as of course, there they are under a lot of pressure to be able to clarify as much as they possibly can. but so this is going to be a very extensive undertaking. you have to imagine that they will comb through every 2nd of that timeline. they will look at every 2nd of footage. they will comb through every inch of what you know we already described earlier as a crime scene. and it really will take some time until the full picture emerges. now, of course, so as you mentioned that it takes some time onto the quick fix the images and they really look at this very closely. this is a former president we are talking about. but what also sends out is how close to scan men got an eye witness. as soon as the bbc, he could clearly see the gunman with the rifle before the sorts of fire. let's take a listen to that. i haven't lost when arming, you know,
7:08 am
bear for rolling up the roof of the building beside us. 5050 feet away from us. so we're standing there. you know, we're pointing. we're pointing out the guy krohn up the roof and he had a gun right. he had a rifle, right. we could clearly see him with the rifle. absolutely. we're pointing out them . the police are down there running around on the ground. we're like, hey man, this guy on the roof with a frightful, in the police, are like hard work. you know, like, like any, know, what's going on, you know, we're like, hey, raise you and what we can see it from right here. we see him, you know, he's, he's calling this and next thing, you know, i'm like, i'm thinking myself, i'm like wise, trump still speaking. why have they not pulled him off the stage? i'm standing there, poignant at him for, you know, 2 or 3 minutes secret service was looking at us from the top of the barn on pointing at that roof. just standard or like this. and next thing you know, by transferring out w, as your knowledge milan stood with us. not quite an incredible allegation there
7:09 am
that you are the say, sorry, of the spectators of the valley. a thing that they could see the pseudo and they were trying to point them out, but they didn't get a reaction. did the security services will be a part of these? explain that indeed. well again, so a lot of these questions are questions for the secret service and the secret service is they were not represented at that briefing that i spoke about earlier. it was also remarkable at that briefing that all the officials who were present there were asked or did they did say that they were surprised at that shooter also got multiple rounds. and so there are many questions open for the secret service here. now i've been to quite a few a truck raleigh's myself from riley's bite in raleigh's. and security really is tight. you do have the secret service doing sweeps before you have them doing sweet, stirring. you have them securing the perimeter of the event and quite
7:10 am
a wide radio. so beyond, beyond whatever event venue that might be. and so the question is, of course of why were they not able to secure that roof? why were uh, if it is true, what these witnesses are saying? why were they not able to react to what uh, to the account. so these witnesses were, um, we're trying to tell them about. so these are, these are very, very, so these are very, very important questions, of course, is that the secret service will have to answer which points of, on their ability were there. where, where did the system fail? because we see where it did work. for example, we saw that that counts or skype or reacted quickly and was able to neutralize the threat of that shooter with instantly. but why that shooter got so close? why? perhaps the plane scanning overhead were unable to see him,
7:11 am
even if perhaps he was hidden from immediate view by a fly. i live on the roof or something. we just don't know that we just don't know that detail for sure. there are, again, i know it keeps saying there's an issue, but there are many questions that the secret service will have to answer for. right . and we would wait to hear more from the secret service, who are understandably being tight lipped about this level one a bit, to the reaction from the support or if we were just playing that image of john pulling off his fist defiantly after he's been cut, it off and that must have to go to respond or indeed. so he is taken back to his motorcade. he raises his fist, his supporters, of course, upon seeing this, a daycare. but then what happens right afterwards, they immediately turn to the media in the crowd and start jeering and yelling. your responsible, you did this. so that points to a quite significant level of, of anger and blame seeking for what had happened to the former president and the
7:12 am
presidential candidate that they are supporting. but there have also been a, let's call them divisive of reactions for more official, from more official corners of the republican party. you have the likes of republican congresswoman, marjorie taylor, freeing tweeting after the attack that she said something to the effect of may god have mercy on her ending these because the won't have mercy on them. so this is, of course, saw not, not the language that perhaps would see to calm down tempers or try to bring down the temperature in, in already volatile situation. you had on a republican law maker from georgia, mike collins saying that joe biden should be investigated for inciting and assassination to time saying, joe biden gave an order saying,
7:13 am
saying that very publicly on social media that said, there are, have a lot. there have also been a lot more let's, let's say positive reactions, more supportive reactions from many foreigners, many of perhaps out providing donald trump with supports saying that he's in their thoughts. he's in their prayers, his hearts go out to him and their families. but you do, but those sort of more inciting statements that does stand out as something that perhaps might not be particularly helpful at this time, or could serve to, to further escalate a situation that is already volatile strides. now, those with some really incendiary comments that you pointed out, but this is such a device, the device of company and already what does this mean for the country? i think it's an example, as you say, uh,
7:14 am
of just how deeply entrenched the political divisions are. we, we go all over the country, we talked to trump supporters, we talked to bite and supporters. and what do you immediately start to understand when you talk to them is very often what it means to be a trump supporter is to be anti bite. and what it means to be an anti bite, and what it means to buy to be a bite and supporters to be an anti trump supporter and so on. and the more people drift to political extremes of the more the room for civil discourse, polite, civil discourse diminishes and thus the risk of political violence does increase. he appears to now do my law on, in washington dc, following the stories for us. thank you so much now for your report and we'll be back with you soon. i and to put your mind off the sorry you were just talking about. former president donald trump has been named jordan. what the? yes, we are calling in a nation attempt of gunman fired. shaw sits on set a campaign. randy in pennsylvania. i told her to see the cube the shorter and that
7:15 am
a member of the crowd is dead. and dw new steam in the us and jordan berlin, but it keeps you up to date on that breaking story number, such as on. thank you so much for being with us. the get ready for an exciting auburn toyota for look, surprised. hi, irish. and i'm ready to dive into the hands of human to you have you have a window, so didn't even from port yet. please go to the spot. on the on expected side to side. the beauty you know, wants to help both him and his talent. then the last 16 years old as flood,
7:16 am
the water, new crane. and then in the us, um we call this the holy temple says, this space helps us live on lives on to live here. we forget everything else. can you uh, forget his war experiences and dance? the spelling. yeah, yeah. i see a lot of false false is to repeat. we don't need to. false. false. it's was the former ballerina from key is supporting ukraine. however, she's able to new law is her greatest hope is through and i'd like to make it into something special in my passion and relentless practice towards a common goal again. well, when is an old category,
7:17 am
and that's what i should the but will they when at an international dance competition in italy with eating as hell? will the new law make it to the tom? despite the war, the vanilla monk cold now lives in a suburb of mines, germany, a former ballet student at the key of national opera. he fled ukraine when russian bombs began falling on his home. no goods. and this was my not when the war broke out coming up and my father came into my room at 5 in the morning. so when you were going to drop me out of bed saying wake up son. yep. and then the war has begun. the 1st i thought it was a joke. yes. what was the what's this all about? but i'm fairly eager to we're bumper. yeah. then
7:18 am
a 2nd strike can't email vincent them. we have the more i was up. and by the 3rd strike, i thought the windows would be blown out of the paints. no, most of the stuff in there, every thing would be destroyed. oh, what a shot. after that, something needed to be done. i had to ask for someone else. i talked to my father about it and you called the vino when you said yes he can come stay with me unless, cuz i like, oh my god, on the bus. i asked them when they came here. oh yeah. i see on left homeless, we have the at the lena status thing as ballet school. everyone is on their feet today. last night, buses from ukraine, pulled into the school courtyard. tomorrow they'll set off for the war zone. everybody pictures and including eating as valet students or several weeks now the school director has been stock piling, material donations, and the seller the what's in these boxes. yeah, that's a is, this is not feed for children. so what that does is that's children's things in the
7:19 am
hills. yeah. stuff for women. so man, man, not too bad or device giddiness status. do not collect supplies to order people right to her personally straight from the war zone. hospitals ask for medical equipment, children's homes for shoes. often it's the dancers were driving out to reach you cranes, smallest villages. it's a huge undertaking for even as helpers. denila takes it in his stride stuff, but somebody didn't was the ticket to pick a new? yeah, it was our best as i knew it would come by. the a says it's like practice for him. that's because he also has to lift and carry the goals lamp and it's good training. i am guessing that the some guy and then with the thing cuz it is so good coleman, he is or should i sit there? he came from such a difficult situation himself. that's alice on this experience to to present
7:20 am
doesn't too much about it. but i know he's been deeply affected, the chief because he's the one that you got to sit the toners. got his eyes on that, and i can say he's young as positive, but he's doing a great job. and i but the 0 for the and he works very hard at his, by a he or um brother and how he copes with the tool. as a young man said, is really amazing. i mean, you're a good one and that's, this comes to the bus. now in a transport vehicle will be filled with as much as possible break time no rest of though for the new law and his 14 year old dance partner of love and tina. they still have afternoon rehearsals for a dance competition in 4 weeks time. the
7:21 am
the new law and exceptional talent comes from a dance dynasty. they all have a new tab that says um and get them from his and his father and i dont together at the say to, oh my, his grandmother was a star and ukraine had done girlfriends. that does his father called and asked the can you save us? because if he can't train then that set to buy when we had just finished putting in unless this he said, or i can only send him to you. i live there. monday, kansas is his own child. then a 15 year old boy man. this is i can this kid that i didn't think about it for a 2nd and said, yes, i cannot have the support of the good that. so interest me is fuck, well enough. but now that i'm bob, bob, bob? yeah. young funds they i on done. yeah. no, that's 12 days. it seems to just have just said, you know, that was, it was tough,
7:22 am
but that was a dream of a great career doing as right now. and by the way, school it just, this is what every student is going after. the former star ballerina from kids is one of only very few teaching talented young dancers classical ballet at a world class level. the meaning of the pod to do from swan lake is a do. it usually danced only by adults. so the way the, the dual trains for 6 hours each day puberty has effectively been called off the vm within the owners input that i, the, we find ourselves in the midst of pbc with a lot to achieve soften. we have to make the leap from a child's instruct to, to as open instruct. you lied to the system of school at 2 of i should have muscles
7:23 am
that we just carrying children's bones miss. now suddenly support much heavier, but slow to uh, take on the less than with us as who owns should be able to use if we then consent ourselves with the problems of puberty investigator. we'd never moss throughout profession, young unofficial problem and all the shots and the ones that are level of some of the hash and probably isn't for everyone. uh, but if there's an issue i la issues when the state and the zip among the teacher knows the choreography of almost all the classics by heart. but of course, from a female dancer, as perspective today, it, ina, is getting support on the male perspective via face time, from a cause like friend of hers. also a star dancer. he's performed swan lake hundreds of times, the
7:24 am
tanners, kaiser, and more little thing. kids in the background and say, when does he have to stand behind his palm that he a voice, the other west point of balance down to the millimeter milling with adviser. is that then did you at goes to macy and then do it louis place? in 4 weeks time, you'll be displaying his talent in front of an international jury for the new law and slogan, tina the swan lake and don quixote. do us represent a great challenge then we have to build you a bit by bit so that you're in top shape in time to the competition event in this, in your physical a, c, and you a morale morales. and those have problem with you think goes to problem, but the physical aspect is what we've got to focus something does a store the
7:25 am
a me yes most i was, it's a lot of fun to dance it had to do with him. she did the bottom, it says if he's always been hand over as if he were phone here along side all my other children and it came down to the was the slow and there's no contract. oh, okay. yeah, of course i missed my parents meeting. i called them every day, so the china will as low as it was very difficult at 1st to you and when i 1st arrived here and i didn't understand anything, only it was a new language for me. oh, everything was new prospect. so no, no, i'm just special project. i met people here, place ukrainians, and we've become friends with bundled room is i'm going to, especially in ninana. she's ukranian herself new and she's always there for her own people. always seeing that the states,
7:26 am
the thing is the more interesting that by some, just the general. so that's how i've been able to adapt. mm hm. yeah. so i've been living here for more than a year and they're like being here, whole annual. and especially because things here are much better than in ukraine at the moment. and i think the national, i want furniture i'm there, you can't do anything. okay. and you're not even go to school. i mean, that's almost done. i've done the mutual thing is the only time will shift as low as learner for the age shipment. elaina ordered a 150 pairs of shoes for a ukrainian children's home delivered in error to her cousin. catherine. this is, this is the books is a pretty heavy have them because they said they need to choose a different machine and so on. so between cesar, so we've done typo general, she's the oldest them publish to any a few paths of some issues. know when you get the of
7:27 am
the shop and by the way, enough for this along with her appetite, she's lost a bit of weight since the outbreak of the war. she's been restless and always wants to help me. yes. yes ma'am. crammed the same side were those also blankets? yes. the 89 has negotiated a discount from this furniture store goes to know a retirement home near van. it's yeah, urgently needs towels. yeah, that's how is it? okay. you also have trash bags. yeah, duncan, thank you. mm. hm, because we send this over in trash bags not boxes. i'm assuming counseling richardson, asking people for help for ukraine. customer, it's become a daily task for $8900.00. thank you. thank you so much. i hope the people
7:28 am
liked them. thank you. you too. bye. on that, thank you. thank you. have a nice day. you too. thanks. the clock is ticking. the departure is set for that afternoon. so this will last year they were able to send the generators twice from here to ukrainian theaters and leave and odessa and fire extinguishers for museums. 80 now has also brought her mother out of the war zone. you should then be spending. now people everywhere want to help you crazy because we are very grateful for that. which one even more? you know, we want for the chaos along the hor, lawlessness,
7:29 am
to be over as quickly as possible. we've received you eating that has also taken in the ballet master and a dancer from the key of national offer. okay. yeah. and for sure, i hope you just told him that everything is well, get better here. where the dog come from me. from here here. is that because we can't be with our families. so instead of farming that expanded this, i think it helps me understand. both are teaching at elena school. those are little dues that i, it's, and i forget that i, we try very hard to find work and many of us have tried to return to craig, and besides that, it's very difficult under the current circumstances. no. so hopefully we have to look somehow into the future and the work is worth more than what i say, i told as the bus drivers are expert packers. now,
7:30 am
a visit from the chairman of the local german ukrainian association. hello. yeah, so yeah, trunks all ready for? yeah, this is yes. this is for the children's home own doesn't always have a noun. uh and the rest is already in there and that's what i said. that was the ha dispatch we pat tool this for the old people's time. who are this time? perfect. that's great. lucas augustine has been organizing a donations since the outbreak of the war a year on a lot of persuading is needed to keep the money flowing in. he knows the bus driver as well and appreciates their work. you spend because sometimes thoughtful, i know we receive this donation just a week ago on saturday and it's kind of this is very fresh. how much on now we can see that a week later we've already sent it off to ukraine, locked in, just asked the driver i todd is will arrive in 2 days time, children's whom infinity and key or clinic and p as in the name i for the old
7:31 am
people, so what ends on the, for the drivers there will send the food to this, and that means that we can prove that hasn't just ended up in some stone pile. the kinda thing in it. right. weird, it's media type for shaking. so it'd be like start tables to balls to the customers at a time. and yeah, we have to be strong and stick together. even if the to slow, we mustn't give us. the word for commitment has spread, and today it, ina, is being well comes into the minds of rotary club. hello,
7:32 am
hello. are you excited? very much of course vincent on the most here for the past has already been mentioned. you have a wonderful talk for us here on october 19th and we have this as a symbol you can wear to display your membership pin. may i present it to you? i don't want to thank you device and with my warm congratulations of being accepted into our closed the generators donated for theatres in odessa and leave had been her greatest wish. that one mustn't get too wrapped up in other details for a country like cream along history. the protection of culture is of course, also vitally important basically,
7:33 am
exhaustive iceland and lucas augustine deliberately presents images of the most recent russian attacks in order to make the needs of the people in the war's own tangible lifestyle. this government is uh, 40 pounds. imagine what you good, those generators have done that every evening. people can have a couple of hours of pay, some man on this. it's a huge least significant. and so it's like it's st q for everything. so i know the p i to see to these in times like these can give a little bit of life and 11 cent and cannot joy because in this situation that's a different thing. so i thought so i should, i think that's very important right now because it's true. if i thought to save the world this, this is sufficient for the new law,
7:34 am
the war and his home country can often feel very close. where he comes as he talks on the phone to his family and kids at the same time, he has the competition to concentrate on until now he's been lacking a modern piece to present to the jury. so far he's only ever danced classical ballet. that's why he's meeting slogan, tina today in another dance studio in mines. they're here to rehearse a short piece of love story. for that, they both put aside their classical training to get the support they need from a contemporary choreographer. stuff in the laptop, the cash flow, sorry from the beginning. yeah. i don't know kind of feel like a pillow this is i can back like yes. yes. i can do that since you start to see how hear you feel differently from dc to this is
7:35 am
what you have to fit. yeah. and go a look at to yeah, you have to look at the from here, look, she's the issue. you say you say, oh my god, you say is you to death not look what they do. look like they do. come with me for me. come here into my word soft and she goes, who up? a lot of movie and a soft story. so yeah, i see, i'm not a false. false is to pete. we don't need to false. false. it's, well, i don't want to dance. we spoke because i know you can go to stupid stuff. your dentist. that's because you want to touch the sort of the people or she does because you want to reach emotion. you want to express where you are. you want to
7:36 am
express your story. you want to say i love to dance because you want to share with the news is 1st i'm working with me and i think it's different to suppress time working in just time, which is the dense company started as i'm seeing most of the special uh, we use the customer code base, but to us moving to more than the way result of trees through out of all positions . and then when i worked with denny, i see that there's a little bit of resistance with the pony. like if you're trying to keep strong, to be strong at the moment, maybe because i've just pray that 5 is good strong. but again of the day, yes. to find a way to free instead of continue move month, which i think can come with the just a little bit more time. yes. and then when he comes into the valet, how can you feel when the new isn't doing well when there's been another attack on key, for instance, the see to see if i can see and yeah. and his expression. see it on how he looked at. oh, see who's the you're trying to help him? yeah, yeah. as all of us have to dance school do that. but we do, we take
7:37 am
a here. do we, i'm there. send up to me by yourself. yeah. and do a here. i'm next off to be the no, no the we stuff the pre the we do we are. i'm daf file. i'm there for i'm not printing here here. color. cool. well, i'm on page one more time. you speak to your body. so you have to make sure that when you speak, you can add to creating that people can understand what you say. so when you do some see each finger, each part of your body is aware and spinning and then it gets you sharing isn't just fair. in addition, ition knowing designation, so knocking can be though the sun. i'm not time a yeah. and now in the scene. yes. yes. well i see a lot of feed per hub. yes. good. continued
7:38 am
a got you know, a what do you see? what do you see? what do you see? and you have ama. yeah. so you, i want, i want what you want. thing like fit honey. do you want to tie? so now you do this, you see the family. i won't, i won't, i will download it. the interesting you, i is what to see if you do this next then. so if you want to in the 1st price. so you want to show the technique the way you move the way you pop now and we wow, your best limits. it's a lot of fun, us as of speech, great working with a lot to the set and it's also a lot of fun with the new locksmith dining like this pitch fast. it's not as stressful is kind of so fish crest. why is it just nice to dash one? so thompson was between me and no, no stress. all good. all for.
7:39 am
meanwhile, at the home of the training and honorary console, lucas augustine is updating hands. you the thoughts on the shipment? you have on, on me and my neighbors will see the box. i've never seen so many adult people crying in my life. i have to confess video and it was standing near the bus. i really feel it in my heart and the ceiling with misery. that's done. seed the injured for let's dimensions and you know, as in touch as you, on a human level finish and have a good day and going to his feet, a land. that's one of them. i mean, what divisions are doing this, and as i know it out for me, i know that it's simply helping hand. but let me start some of the showing this is i thought, neighborly loved next me. but all aide relief is scrupulously registered in ukraine. the gratitude for lucas, a listing and eating a status team as commitment to helping as a mens uh certificate of things from the loved the national opera is he is inconceivable. and she's basically our time with ukraine. she assign
7:40 am
goodness he can. we can be sure that the nation, sir, are riding with the shoot was he comes on, he don't want to get a to large caps was to, to use, but directly to the recipient is an extra one spends on a p, like food in impacts only possible with friends here in germany, you know, there we are, right, send both here and, and great. see, she always can as often they will cut, you know, in just 2 days after the party from eating, as dan school comes news from the bus drivers with photos and videos, they document the successful delivery to a children's home and, but it's, yeah, the retirement home and the clinic back editing is dance school, it's final changes to the costumes. it's only 3 days until the competition in italy . then the low watches videos of his favorite dancer,
7:41 am
