war, general? >> yes, yes they are. they have momentum now for sure. hamas is actually more of a military organization than a terrorist organization. they've got five brigades, 24, 25 battalions somewhere between 25 and 30,000 people under arms. terrorist organization normally operating in de-centralized cells and these guys fight in military units. and what is happening near is they delayed in northern gaza area to move their troops to the south where they thought they'd have more protection, and israel is cleaning up the northern gaza area and the u.s. in that area and most of hamas fighters with lead res are as well. they're systematically breaking hamas down and they'll take time to be deliberate about it and it's very dangerous what you're

dealing with and it's quite precedent what they're doing and they put a grid system on there and put that out to the people and based on that grid system, numbering system they're using with it and they tell them where to go and going for them and that's the commitment for the civilians out of battle zone and it's unprecedents and the fact that there's so many civilians in urban battle zones and normally when the guns start to reach the city, the people are long gone. and hamas will not let the people go nor can the people get out of the gaza strip and e i didn't want closing the border. this is a tough situation. israel will win this fight and staying in the fight and hamas is going to be defeated.

these days, stu. you can make an argument that john fetterman is the most high profile senator on the democratic side right now. heavyweights been saying things that are profoundly common sense and has taken guts to say. that's what's earning him praise from the right and center while drawing the ire of those on the left. they said democratic senator bob mendez should be kicked out of congress after being federally charged for taking part in a bribery scheme and no other democratic senator has made such a demand around menendez and po israel and walking next to pro palestinian protesters and protesting hamas instead. the most important stance that fetterman has taken has been on the crisis that's the catastrophe at the u.s. southern border. he says "i hope that democrats can understand it's not xenophobic to be concerned about the border. it's a reasonable conversation and democrats must engage".

stuart: baseball's most coveted free agent sew hay ohtani struck a $70 million deal with the la -- $700 million deal and who else benefits from this deal? >> the government, stuart. uncle sam will get paid because ohtani's decision to stay with a team in california is going to have pretty lofty tax implications. now as an earner in the highest tax bracket, 2023 tax rates for california and federal government combine to eq e 49.3% and the japanese sensation is shelling out 49% of the income and dodgers are one of the only teams that could afford the most valuable contracts in pro sports let alone baseball. the 10-year, $700 million contract is $250 million more than mike trouts deal in 2019. the la market has a big fan base and strong ratings meaning
