>> this is "maria bartiromo wall street". >> happy we can all welcome to the program analyzes the week that was in hopes position you for the week ahead. i am maria bartiromo. the biden impeachment probe may be coming to a town near you for the holidays, members of congress are home for a 30 week winter break but the investigation into the bidens is not slowing down house oversight committee chairman james comer announcing he is sending investigators on the road to depose and interview witnesses locally who have been subpoenaed, this week they heard from a witness testifying that the president's brother james cashed in on the family name and americorps health trustee claims that jim biden took $600,000 from the struggling healthcare company with the promise of using the biden name to bring in funding from the middle east. a service he never provided. house judiciary committee jim jordan said some of the money that james got from americorps can be traced directly to joe

biden's. >> with americorps jim biden gets paid $600,000 in the very same day he sensed $200,000 to his brother it was always about giving access to the brand. >> we think will talk to jim biden in january and rob walker and eric swearing tony bobulinski, tony morris who paid a large portion of his tax bill and we think will have those individuals in pre-deposition at the start of the new year. maria: before all about joining his house oversight committee chairman congressman james comer, thank you very much for being here. >> my pleasure. maria: you sent teams out to do investigations to get depositions taken of the local towns because they said they could not make it to washington? >> they said it is christmas time we have a lot going on we can afford it in the vernacular be able to make it there it may be a couple of months and we said will make it convenient for you i will send biden posers to

you we will go to you wherever you are and in this one we went to florida and we will continue to travel wherever it takes and if you're in a foreign country, whatever we will get the depositions done in the next 60 days compaq or high water. maria: you a lot going on i want to get your take on the americorps health story. we've been talking and trying to trace money that was coming from overseas to the biden family. this is an american company and date to pay the biden family according to what you are sa saying. >> jim biden operated a little differently than hunter biden but they work together and it was all about selling the brand of the brand was joe biden. jim biden focus domestically but he used international as his gimmick and what he did, he found this company americorps health which is a company based out of florida he found out they were in financial trouble so he approached them and made a

presentation and obviously they knew who he was. it was joe biden's brother. he said because of his brothers contacts in the middle east he could get them all the capital they need to get back on their feet but you have to pay jim biden 600,000th and will call it alone so we don't hunter reported to the irs. what is interesting about that, the last payment that they paid americorps health pay jim biden three payments of $200,000. the last 200,000-dollar payment the day jim biden received it he wrote joe biden a check for $20000 that is direct evidence that joe biden benefited from his family shady influence peddling scheme. what we learned from the interview with the trustee of americorps was that this was security fraud one-on-one by jim biden. maria: this is incredible.

have you heard back from jim biden on an explanation over this. i know you want to speak with him in january. >> we're going to have jim biden in in january and i have an opportunity to explain himself. we obviously have a lot of questions about the americorps health scheme but there are many, many more schemes. when you look at jim biden llc and the payments that were received. it raises a lot of questions. we talk about hunter biden and his shell companies and all the wires from the foreign nationals and if you look at jim biden's llc he got a lot of wires from a shady american people people that we believe were seeking favor from the biden vice presidency or the biden presidency. maria: that is unbelievable. you have so much witness testimony on all of this and yet the democrats and the media continue to say there is no evidence against joe biden. >> they think if they keep

saying it people will believe it. every story i have read this morning shows some type of reference to no evidence but they still provide no evidence no evidence of wrongdoing by joe biden which is completely ridiculous every american keeping up with this investigation knows that we have provided mountains of evidence of wrongdoing about joe biden and at the very least joe biden has lied over 21 times who he met with and what he knew and who we communicated with more evidence is coming forward that joe biden was e-mailing the shady characters in hunter biden's orbit that he claimed he never met at the beginning of our investigation now we know he was sending and receiving hundreds of e-mails but using a pseudonym e-mail a fake name to disguise his communication with these people. joe biden knew exactly what he was doing and exactly how his family was receiving tens of millions of dollars from our enemies around the world and we will continue to provide more

evidence. maria: you have all of these questions surrounding president biden and allegations of influence peddling money laundering, bribery in his failure to keep the border secure. ineptitude on policy and putting our country in harm's way and yet its former president trump who democrats are trying to remove from the ballot. he's off the primary ballot in colorado now california is pushing to take them off the california state ballot it is creating an incredible situation rather democrat states want to remove trump from the ballot he has not been convicted of anything and yet they're taking them off the ballot, your reaction. >> i think the american people see that we have layers and layers of corruption in this government. this is purely political what they're trying to do, you cannot remove from the ballot the former president of the united states who is leading by five or six points in every poll in america right now from the

ballot. the things that they're using in these cases revolved around insurrection which is the civil war era type thing. they provided no evidence that donald trump led insurrection. elisa january 6 was a rally that went bad. there's time after time in evidence after evidence that trump was telling people to calm down and go home and we have reports that there were people instigating. i don't know what happened, that's a part of my investigation but one thing i know what the democrats are trying to do to donald trump on the ballot will backfire read the more that they do to donald trump the more he will increase in the polling. the american people see that joe biden is a shady character that has bad policies with the negative impact on their lives and at the same time they tried to do everything in their

ability to limit his top political opponent from being on the ballot i don't think the american people will stand for and i bet donald trump carries colorado in the election. maria: that's a great point what a prediction. if ever there was a time that america is declining it feels like it is now and people are laughing because of this attack to our democracy. if ever we felt like a banana republic it is today. now we have this exclusive from breitbart says republicans are drafting bills to remove joe biden from ballots in georgia, arizona, pennsylvania they're talking about a dereliction of duty because the border is wide open 8 - 10000000 illegals have come in and they get court dates 9 million years from now to get up in america waiting for the court date if they ever show up again. are they going to start removing people from ballots when there is no evidence and no conviction now the republicans want joe biden off the ballot. >> the democrats have set somebody dad presidents and their investigation in their

and things to slow down and i am surprised we've not seen a bigger hit to growth as the fed raised rates 11 times. >> he would not be alone in that sentiment certainly is quite remarkable and obviously we had a stunningly strong third-quarter but so far in the fourth-quarter the gdp now tracker posting numbers that are north of 2.5% which is still above trend growth in the economic conditions. the consumer has been amazingly brilliant and high prices and more recently the trend to cooperate with year-over-year increases but nonetheless it's building on was elevated price levels from what we knew a couple of years ago from this point. in the meantime the real key is the job market that's what's helping sustain demand and so far we have a 3.7% unemployment rate which is indicative of how tight labor conditions are in

spite of inflation which is receding but above levels the fed is targeting and secondly as you mentioned the federal reserve raising interest rates almost at a historic rate and to a level that is clearly by their own admission type. maria: how closely are you watching the shipping story in the red sea you have a number of shipping companies bp in the oil sector, couple of others deciding to reroute their ships because of attacks from the houthis rebels in yemen. as a result they have to go around to go through africa and that will mean a longer trip and more use of oil and i'm wondering if this will create snarls in our supply chain. are you looking at this as far as impact on the economy. >> yes we are so far it has not necessarily surfaced any measurable way that we are

seeing. it could have an impact on not just obviously capital goods but prospectively oil prices because of the additional cost being accrued by these companies and any risk of something that lunch a metastasizing further influencing on shipping activity as it relates to oil tankers. maria: oil had one of the best weeks in a long time this week. i suspect because of this issue. let's talk about 2020 for the new year is upon us, how do you want to be invested. >> i think you want to stay long certainly were generally constructive on outcome for 2024 and might be a year where one needs to be more noble with regard to how their thinking of investing this year 2023 turned out to be remarkably good year for the s&p 500 and now it's broadening out immersing sectors outside of technology to participate and it's all based on the narrative liver can have

a soft landing and miraculously inflation comes down and the economy stays relatively healthy in the labor market is supportive of providing the demand that is propelling economic activity. in that case one wants to be more pro-growth or cyclical meaning industrial immaterial companies and financial stocks. at the same time one cannot ignore the fact that the tech giants in the technology sector and those that are leadership in the communication and consumer discretionary like amazon and meta of the world besides the usual suspects in the technology sector are still iconic brands with most of their businesses generating enormous free cash flow and hard to not expect them to be among the leadership in 2024. maria: it is great to see you, merry christmas and thank you for your time. >> thank you, you the same. maria: mark joining us, helping our heroes for the holidays, the

before i started the foundation i was reaching out and trying to help a lot of different military and first responder nonprofits raising money and raising awareness doing psa's and whatnot and when i started my foundation the gary sinise foundation it was an extension of all of that and i wanted to do more so we have a very broad mission at the gary sinise mission i was involved in so many types of things. if you look at the programs we are dealing with world war ii veterans, supporting them and their families trying to get as many world war ii veterans down to the national world war ii museum as possible before we lose them all we're in the goldstar family fallen heroes space and trying to do everything that we can to make sure goldstar families it in fallen heroes no that they're

not forgotten. one of the programs as you said you showed some clips is called snowball express we take hundreds and hundreds of children down to disney world each december and they expanded the program to take children of fallen first responders. we did two events back to back this past december a couple weeks ago and thousands of children and goldstar families. we have a lot of support from the american people so were expanding our program all over the place. maria: i love it thank you for all that you're doing. we talk about the economy all the time on this program and most people i spoke with are expecting a real slow down things are tight and inflation is up. has that impacted things, or you seen a decline in charitable giving or is it stable. how would you characterize things in an economy that is

clearly troubled. >> thankfully the gary sinise foundation we have been fairly stable there's always ups and downs of the nonprofit world but we are very blessed that the american people are supportive of what were trying to do at the gary sinise foundation. maria: how did this become so important to you. >> like you i have veterans in my own family and that's where it goes back to world war i my grandfather was an ambulance driver during the battle of the argonne and world war i and he had three sons and his three sons including my father served to win world war ii and my dad was in the navy in korea and my wife sighed many veterans it all starts there and then i got very involved 30 or 40 years ago supporting vietnam veterans and that snowballed into a bigger

effort after september 11 where i wanted to raise my hand and support the men and women that were responding to that attack and that led to so many great relationships with great organizations out there, great individuals and i met incredible heroes through this work. we can always do more we can never do enough, but we can always do more these are our defenders and we want to take care of them. maria: thank you for all that you are doing we appreciate and thank you for being here. merry christmas to you. >> my absolute pleasure. gary sinise joining us. one important thing ahead ofyou' next week and that is next.
