david: hello folks welcome to kudlow, i'm david asman,
7:01 pm
in for larry kudlow. new migrant scrai caravan of 8 thousand people is headed for america's southern border creating a bigger dilemma for biden administration, despite a official downplaying this situation. saying, these reported caravans generally travel very slowly and often splinter before they make progress moving northbound. all of those immigrants usually get their way and come in. and all this is as record number of illegal migrants flooded to southern border, already 250 thousand encounters this month. grady trimble is in dc with more. reporter: biden administration officials were in mexico, meeting with the president. and other officials there. we didn't get any specifics from homeland security secretary alejandro mayorkas. or secretary of state antony blinken. but most of the details
7:02 pm
we're getting about the meeting are coming from mexico's president obrador, saying two sides agree to open border crossings that were closed because of surge of migrant. he said, fentanyl hardly came up. two sides did agree to meet against next month, that time it will be here in washington, d.c. the critics of biden administration doubt alejandro mayorkas characterization of meeting that he called very productive. >> it is a check the box, let's pretended we're doing something, there are no solutions. >> we have no strength, they know it they went down there for a photo op, policies have not changed. mayors of new york, chicago and denver want president biden to sense them more -- send them more money to deal with the inplu int influx
7:03 pm
of migrants. >> this is the federal government, looking the other way, they can have all of the talks with mexico they want, but this is our border, our problem, we need to do something about it. reporter: with border encounters and crossings at an all-time high and massive caravan on the way that likely mines more migrants headed to sanctuary cities, they are already stretched thin, we'll see what they do. david: grady thank you. >> joining me now is new york congresswoman nicole man. >> i just heard from grady. i heard from no talk about
7:04 pm
fentanyl, what is it, that harming americans more than anything else from the border right now. 100 thousand americans died as a result of fentanyl, how do you respond. >> it is outrageous. thousands of people died alone here in new york city, it is because of the open border that is allowing for fentanyl to stream over, making the drug cartels billions of dollars a year, and fact that our president, this administration, not only refuse to secure the border, but refusing to bring up the issue of fentanyl, that we know is coming from china in form of ingredients to mexico over the open border, president has to do more to be proactive. to stop this flow. it is concerning, you see so many governments unfortunately corrupted by the drug cartels, we have
7:05 pm
seen convictions of countries -- officials in central and south america, our own administration won't bring it up begs the question to why? why do they continue to allow the drug cartels to profit off deaths of american people. david: what is the answer? why are they not talking about fentanyl? at major meetings? >> you know, i don't know. that is the problem. no one in this administration will address this issue that we're sounding the alarm on, everything they say is classified perhaps. americans are dying is the bottom line, we should be
7:06 pm
proactive, this a combination of fentanyl killing americans, then policies and states like new york that release the drug trafficking and dealers back on to streets without bail, they want to have some -- many of left wing democrats feel we should be an open drug society, netw new york city council wanting open drug use to be decriminalized in new york city, that is what democrats believe, people are dying as a result. david: other thing decriminalized is illegal immigration itself. through sanctuary cities, here is some sanctuary city mayors and they are crying for help. because they can't afford it. pause they lured thei immigrants in. >> without real significant investment from our federal government is not just city of chicago that cannot maintain this mission but the country at stake. >> we cannot continue to do
7:07 pm
federal government a job. we have spoken to fema, and other federal officials who expressed concern about border surge but not offered additional help, we need act and now. david: i know there are costs it will cost new york, 12 billion in next 3 years, migrants are expecting same for themselves, that citizens are getting and more so. but the expenses are huge. it costs 38 thousand dollars to educate a kid in k-12 in new york city right now. per kid. but don't a lot of su sanctuary cities have to blame themselves? >> that is right. these mayors, including mine in new york city are incentive advising this illegal immigration, they are offers all sorts free services, i find troubling
7:08 pm
about that clip, they are not calls for border to be secured or surge to stop or legal immigration who have been waiting in line are further pushed to justice system to heard to have visas. they are instead asking for is more money. that sewell it comes down -- that is ass all it comes down, toes democrat solution is always more money. it does not solve the problem. they don't care that the drugs are coming in as well, they care about more resources for the city, their approach wrong, if i were mary would tell chuck schumer, that needs to do his job and pass border security act that house passed in may, he has been sitting on since then, that would restore policy of previous administration and end what president biden has been doing by executive order. david: other thing that the democrat mayors and people in senate are flames is governor -- blaming is
7:09 pm
governor abbott from texas for sending in migrant to their city which is nothing compared to the thousands that are coming. that federal government is responsible for -- the supervisor of san diego, jim desmond, we saw a sound bite him from. 62 thousand migrants have come to san diego in just the past 3 months, and here is what he says about their putting blame on the texas governor. >> i think it is ironic that you mayors of chicago, and new york, and denver, all blame you know state of texas, it is the border itself, here in station county, it -- san diego county it is federal government tropin dropping people here at a parking lot. and then these people are helped by our nonprofits who
7:10 pm
are funded by county and local taxpayer dollars. >> governor abbott has responded. >> he says: >> has governor abbott got it right? >> look, governor abbott is accounting for maybe 10% of individuals coming to new york city, it is irra irrational to think that 10 million people will stay in one state, they will spread all over. but, our mayor has been misinterpreting new york city right to shelter law
7:11 pm
that is meant for homeless new yorkers and insists it is responsible of taxpayers of new york industry city to provide free housing. david: a lot of those -- tax payers are moving out in particular those that provide the most revenue for the city, wall street is moving to florida. and texas, rapidly right now, causing tremendous problems for the revenue keepers, in new york. saying, not only are they spinning more on migrant, but they are getting less from the taxpayers in particular these wall street titans. >> what is the common thread. migrant crisis, crime is skyrocketing you and have high taxation driving out middle class in particular. and jobs and companies. to lower tax states, these
7:12 pm
are what democrat policies are doing to cities like new york we need to reverse course. i didn't think that someone could be a worse marathon bill de blasio perhaps we're wrong. the mayor needs to stop incentivizing the mass migration to new york city, and telling the senator of his own state and city, chuck schumer to do his job, pass your bill, or pass your own bill, but do something, you see what is happening in the city, mayor saying it is bankrupting new york and hiring freeze of police officers, we need to do something to address the crisis, house republicans had a solution, senate should pass it. >> these cities it really is a race to the bottom. who will go further toward the the bottom. thank you happy new year to
7:13 pm

contempt of congress. what about hunter, will he get some kind of a charge? >> i'm sure we won't, he should. but if merrick garland does not pursue the same thing for hunter biden, he did for peter navarro and steve bannon than we do have a two-tiered justice system, but we know we do, peter navarro was on staff of president. he believed and i think he is right, that the eco executive privilege that extended to him in working for president meant sep r separation of power was such he was not able to go to talk to members about congress about what conversations he may have had with the president, that is a different situation from hunter biden who had no executive privilege, he was not under the house

protection. there needs to be separation of powers, it has nothing to do with hunter biden, and hunter biden should be forced and compelled to give the testimony. david: a great point. there is another aspect to this two-tiered system of justice, main to it. but the classified documents case. where you had president biden and lord knows how he got those classified documents that were stu all over the place. but how did he get them out? president trump we know how president trump got the classified documents, he was president. and under president at authority act he had the right to take some of those things out, whether he mistreated them is another issue, but prosecutors are slow walking a obvious case against joe biden but rapidly pursuing the case against donald trump.
7:22 pm
>> i don't think it is a slow walk, it is a no walk, they won't do anything, why did he have documents as a senator, he was not allowed to possess those documents they had to have a in the scif, private room in capital, they could see documents nots could not take them, but president could take documents. he could declassify them, he is only person not a vice president or senator, no one else can declassify documents just the president can declassify documents and say, these are no logier classified. -- the question is did dodonald trump do that, he say he's dsome people in archives say high did not, but let's face it even sander berger who worked for bill clinton stuffed classified papers down his pants and nothing happens to him, this is insane, i think
