♪. liz: okay, breaking news once again on this spot bitcoin etf approval story. cathie wood told us at the top of the show she had yet to hear the word. charlie gasparino has major breaking news. charlie. >> right, we reported earlier applicants like cathie wood it would happen today. they were told like after the bell. looks like nine minutes before the closing bell, the sec has officially approved all 11 applicants to be able to sell a spot bitcoin etf. the sec did it just minutes ago. ten minutes before the close as a matter of fact. and, listen, the market is up, bitcoin is up.

this is a big deal in crypto. i can't stress this enough. it was a bumpy road. it was opposition from the sec. it was a hack yesterday which was the most surreal situation in the world. the sec is actually investigating itself on this thing. the i.g. is involved on the hack and how someone got through and did they take, did they have the proper protocols to -- the sec's website, twitter page is a market moving twitter pain. you would think it has authentication protocols there and apparently it didn't have the dual factor which i do, and i'm pretty sure you do. all that being said it's a done deal. the sec approved it. again a big deal in crypto. it is a major step to mainstreaming the digital coin. let's be clear what an etf isn't. it is an exchange traded fund. in the past if you wanted to buy

crypto you had to go to a crypto exchange. that opens you up to some people like sam bankman-fried and opens you to other people that aren't criminals. there is opaqueness to that. what this does, you can buy bitcoin, spot price of bitcoin, by buying essentially a fund that doesn't trade on a crypto exchange but trades on one of the major stock exchanges in the world, the new york stock exchange, the nasdaq, the cboe. you will also be buying that from not some fly-by-night person. you will be buy that fund from some of the biggest players in as management. fidelity, blackrock. we'll have larry fink on friday to talk about this and other things. you can also buy from some crypto players. plus it is an easy way to get into the market. in the past you were regular person had to buy own a

2023 was the year of the gpu, building out infrastructure. you will see microsoft go big this year but you're also going to see sales force. the application of technology that enables companies to be more productive, more efficient, service now, those are the companies i'm really looking at. a.i. pc here in cvs was massive. we saw arm, amd, intel going big and all their oems are betting large in second half of this year we see the next supercycle in pcs. liz: remember last year, the chip shortage. that doesn't appear to be a thing. what is still a thing, material costs but more importantly food costs. what if people, we're getting a cpi number tomorrow, consumer price index, very important indicator at the consumer level, what if it comes in slightly hotter than expected? does that mean people will zip up their wallets tightly and not
