for the white house to insist people's lives are better than they really are and it's a terrible storm to be writing into even as an income but. stuart: what would it mean for the race, the election overall, what you make of the race trump wins iowa by say 20 points? suppose it is a blowout, was the impact on the election? >> as lauren was mentioning, the 50% threshold is going to be the answer to the question. if he breaks 50% in the answer the question, is there room for an alternative in the republican primary? if he gets 50%, there's no room for an alternative but even if he gets a little bit below but it's a blowout and he's at 48%, mathematically, baby there's room for an alternative. still highly doubtful but we will go to new hampshire and south carolina from there but these alternatives to trump are going to have to do better than strong second-place and if they can't win a contest in new

they were targeting an american ship so i was in the army but i can tell you cruise missile hits an american warship, is going to do an enormous amount of damage and killed a lot of people so they are directly targeting not just israel but the united states which means the bombing campaign biden just did which was basically shut it down, they did not get the message. stuart: next one, iran is reportedly close to producing a nuclear bomb, what happens if they announced they got one? >> i'm going to be straightforward and honest here and not partisan politically which is the reality of things as i see it so officially the policy is we cannot tolerate iran having nuclear weapons. i think this whole thing, the fighting with hamas, instigation with hezbollah and houthis, is giving iranians an excuse to say look at terrible security situation is in the region for

our own national defense we have to declare ourselves nuclear power. reality is many analysts and i agree believe we are past where iran can produce a nuclear weapon, they can do this, is not a question of an assembly line you speed up or slow down and there, it's a political decision and my guess is it will do this in the near future claiming the situation in the region is so unstable, biden will be in the middle of a presidential campaign, it's unlikely he will start a war with iran in the middle of a presidential campaign. israelis likely do nothing, they are divided and they are very busy dealing with hamas so my guess is iran gets away with it, january 2025 rolls around either biden is back or new president is and they are faced with the reality event declared nuclear statement is like okay, what are you going to do about it? is a strange and terrible world but if i was a betting guy in

stuff for returns. >> your technology goes a long way to solve the solution you told me retailers will know about what they have in inventory almost immediately, tell me how it works as a practical matter. >> and practice, tags on every item in these retailers and they are able to do frequent stock because so retailers do one stop cap here and with this technology, it's one everyday so they are able to do is keep accuracy at 90% and it allows them to serve customers more effectively. >> you can do that and other things but there is a problem with refunds right now, how are you helping retailers take care of this huge amount of stuff returned? >> will got one customer managing returns the distribution millions a year. the reality is is largely chaotic proceeds for every retailer so automating that with rfid on the item, it allows them to automate that and simplify it to manage chaotic process. >> appreciate your time.

in congress once again hunting on a new spending deal, a new agreement will be voted on this week to keep the government running for another month. chad pergram on capitol hill, republican hardliners are saying about this. >> the heart right is angry but so far most are biting their lips when it comes to house speaker mike johnson. bipartisan efforts a partial government shutdown this wee weekend. johnson announced friday he would stick to the spending numbers agreed to earlier this month. a vote to break a filibuster on the bill comes tomorrow night in the senate.

>> democrats and republicans have to work together. i have worked with leader mcconnell and he agrees we should avoid a shotgun so hopefully we can get this done. it's amazing some of these hard right extremists think the shutdown would be a good thing. >> conservatives are outraged johnson renewed his word, he previously said he would not do another temporary spending bill. the bill sets to new deadlines, march 1 for 1 batch of bills, march 8 for the rest some on the right demand shut down until the border is sealed. >> is time for us to tell the government you got to secure the border or shutdown if what that takes is the threat of us withholding some of his priorities running from his of inflation, so be it. >> some republicans are dismissing a still unfinished water bill in the senate.

inflation has moderated recently but voters don't seem to agree with him, do they? >> they sure don't. by the way, jamie raskin, a congressman from the d.c. area and this is such a perfect example of people in washington living in a bubble without having any concept of what's happening in real america where i don't know if you experience this but when i go to the store, gas pump, people yell at me as i what's going on with these high prices people have been hurt the most are people in the middle class whose incomes have not kept pace, i believe inflation rate since biden came into office averages about 5.5% and i think as you said earlier, it's almost double the rate of the last four presidents, think about that. it's almost laughable to say this is a successful presidency. one other quick thing on what you are just covering on the budget, do you realize right now

we are borrowing almost $4 billion a day, a day. [laughter] they are considering this a success so we do have to do something about this out-of-control spending. i call biden a cyclist path spender because virtually zero spending because as he's borrowing to trillion a year. stuart: i will caucuses are today, i suspect the most important issue that state is farming. what say you on that? >> i think farming, we were just talking about inflation and the general state of the economy and even by the way, i walked with donald trump a month and a half ago, people in iowa were talking about the border because every state is not a border state and they are getting illegal immigrants in iowa so all these issues and i will tell you from my visit to iowa, people aren't

feeling the love, there is a bit of anger and rage about what's happening in this country. when you have 70% of americans think the economy is headed in the wrong direction, people in almost every state our feelings that squeeze. stuart: is ethanol an issue and i will? [laughter] >> it always is. i've been covering this for 35 years and yes, ethanol is an issue although, i may be wrong but i do not think i what is the number one one producing state, i was told my home state of illinois is. a major part of their economy and they do want ethanol and i have to tell you, i think all candidates on the republican side are in favor of ethanol don't quote me, i'm not sure what desantis has been saying but those who come and attack ethanol, they oftentimes don't survive politically but i'm against it, i don't like any subsidies to energy. i think we should let the free
