iranian-backed militia killed three american troops in jordan over the weekend and injured over 40 more. let me say first, we mourn the passing of these brave american patriots and condolences to their families. second, we pray for a speedy recovery for those who are injured. and third, we wonder whether president biden will end his policy of iranian appeasement and begin a new policy america first deterrents? we'll h we'll have a report in washington from the daily white house briefing by edward lawrence and jack keane what the administration ought to be doing about it and later in the she alabama senator tommy tub veryville weighs in what appears be to new border bill to stop the tsunami of illegal immigration. speaking of illegal immigration,

marjorie taylor greene will be here talking about the impending impeachment of dhs secretary alejandro mayorkas. first up our own edward lawrence from the white house. edward. >> reporter: larry, you can feel tension here at white house. weight of three americans killed here at the white house. the attack hit near a living area at this particular base in the early morning as people were still in their beds. dozens more were injured as you mentioned. a u.s. official telling fox that the missile got through or the drone got through because the u.s. drone was supposed to come back about same time as mistaken identity. so far iranian proxies attacked u.s. positions at least 165 times since october 17th. 80 servicemembers injured or now killed. white house is says iran is behind the attacks but the administration stopped short going after iran.

radar sites. i'm relying here from a good news report published by "the los angeles times." mr. reagan called it a measured response to renewed iranian mining of the gulf that damage ad u.s. frigate, okay? mr. reagan said and i'm going to quote directly, we've taken this action to make certain the iranians have no illusions about the cost of irresponsible behavior. we aim to deter further iranian aggression, not provoke it, and the late president added, quote, they must know that we will protect our ships and if they threaten us, they'll pay a price, end quote. now some military analysts at the time said that on that one day reagan took out essentially half the iranian navy and remember, the reagan action was taken in response to renewed iranian mining of the gulf that

damage ad u.s. frigate. today u.s. military assets in the middle east have been taken 165 hits from iran or iran-sponsored terrorist groups. besides the three military troops that tragically lost their lives saturday, apparently two of our best of the best navy seals may have been lost from an earlier iranian-backed action. 80 u.s. servicemembers have received injuries since october 17th, plus reportedly more than 40 injured saturday night and still and still, the biden administration has refused to strike directly back at the iranian puppet masters and paymasters. appeasement, not deterrence, continues to reign over biden foreign policy. now here is another date. january 3rd, 2020. president donald trump directed u.s. military to take out

quassem soleimani, leading iranian terrorist mastermind and he did it through a drone strike near the baghdad airport. iran had recently hit a u.s. military base near kirkuk as well as other provocations as president trump put it then and i will quote, the recent attacks on u.s. target in iraq including rocket strikes that killed an american and injured four american servicemen very badly as well as a violent assault on our embassy in baghdad, these were carried out at the direction of soleimani. in other words, trump took out iran's top terrorist general and he went on to say, and i will quote, soleimani has been perpetrating acts of terror to destablize the middle east for the last 20 years. what the united states did yesterday should have been done long ago. we took action last night to stop a war. we did not take action to start a war. end quote.

and his driver i guess it was, they did that with far less provocation from iran than what biden and what would the united states has suffered recently. they did it far less. biden suffered much more, higher casualties, god forbid, god look over them, more injured and he hasn't done anything yet. it is as though mr. biden does not read any military history or maybe any history at all? >> history says, larry, if you're tough on your adversaries you don't have war and we're obviously not tough right now as you said. appeasement is running rampant. if you're a sheep herder in the middle east right now you better be careful that is what biden will target. he will not do anything that will upset iran. i don't know what is it going on there. nobody really does. larry: is there any gossip table talk? he has been meeting non-stop? they haven't done anything, it is about 48 hours, itself the clock is ticking, right?

goinghappen? kirby is not talking. the only thing kirby said i didn't like he talked about isis. i don't think this is really about isis, isis is not -- trump took out isis years ago. there is a little bit of sliver left. it is iran. it all should be about iran. >> that is exactly right, larry. the problem we have we have hundreds of bases in the middle east and those people have to protect themselves. we have to really watch what we're doing. we're on the verge of taking our people out of the embassy in iraq. we spent almost a billion dollars on that thing. it's, it's a bar getting ready to happen. you've people i don't trust running, running the show. we've got less experience. our military is weakest it has been in many, many years, since 19991. we have -- 1991, we have gone downhill with our military. we don't have the munitions. we get out there to start

something we shouldn't. we could have problems out self. which need to protect our people in the middle east he specially our allies. and it all goes back to, biden is trying to take away munitions from israel right now. this whole thing just stinks. larry: you know, something, if we get, if we get general keane back we'll see, but biden always says, and his people always say, we don't want to escalate the israeli war throughout the middle east but iran has already escalated it. my point is appeasement has escalated it. we have given iran so much running room and they have taken it. they have now escalated the war. like everybody's bombing everybody else including pakistan and iran and iran is bombing in iraq and of course hamas in israel and hezbollah and now iran is going straight at the united states. i mean, it is already escalated because appeasement never works. >> exactly right and we're also, larry, look at this, we're in a different type of world now.

in years past drones weren't used in the military. now it is a total different weapon and as you heard they didn't really realize that was a enemy drone coming in. they thought it was possibly our drone coming back but drones usually don't circle and come back. usually when somebody uses it against you it is calm kamikaze drone. feel bad for the people at all these military bases. we've been attacked 160 times. what have we done? we've gone after ol' military arsenals in yemen, so, so far away from anything making a difference. larry: senator, let's switch gears a bit. we don't have a print on it. some kind of a border deal. we may have a report later in the show. i don't know, 5000 a day,thousand a day, it is kind

of like -- eight thousand a day, kind of like if you're in a delicatessen in new york, you're number one, pastrami sandwich, kudlow, you're number two, the 499th 5,000th person they will never make good on it keeping them out. what is going on and will republicans fall for this? >> they basically tricked us into a situation to see if the republicans will bite on this. we already have laws to stop them at border. they will not to by them. for three years, larry, they let people invade this country. it is a name what is going on. it is criminal, to be honest with you. we have not read the text. senator lankford worked hard on this. i wouldn't trust people on the other side doing the negotiation. it is not going to pass the house anyway but it is extortion. they're holding the american taxpayer hostage for $100 billion to send to ukraine. hostage. if we will do a border deal. that makes no sense to me.

why would we even think about that? hey, stop the border. you have the ability to do that. joe biden today could say listen, stop everybody at the border nobody comes in. we will not do it because they want votes. larry: that is the thing former president trump said several times in the last couple days that we don't need any new legislation this could all be done by the executive branch directives as he did and speaker johnson says he wants zero tolerance policy. we don't want 5000 or eight thousand, we may get details later in the show, whatever the number is, we want "remain in mexico." that is not in the deal. >> one more is too many, larry. one more is too many. larry: that's right. >> we had 10 or 12 million coming. they say 7 or 8 million. larry, i have been there. it has been a disaster. people coming across. chinese are coming across with brand new luggage, come on. you can't walk up through mexico, get there with brand new -- larry: brand new luggage. >> look at pictures. these guys are 15 to 35.

border in maine they chased all over maine. just the way it is. when you're not strong on something, when they flow there is no ramifications for what's going to happen, hey they're going to come. larry: is president trump in pretty good shape right now in your judgment politically? >> i think he is in good shape. come on out of one primary, one caucus, very, very he will. he will win, it will be a tough election for next 10, nine months. it will be very bumpy. there will be a lot of ill will out there amongst people. we need to keep the rhetoric low and just have a good election and hopefully president trump gets elected. larry: aquila wants me to get out of this segment. but i love talking to you. i want to say, i don't know if you heard my riff, they were moving you around. i didn't know they were moving you around. that is the beauty of live tv. we'll get to general keane in a few moments. come back to my former, former boss which was ronald reagan when i was a child, i worked as a deputy in his budget office,

honor, general keane, thank you for coming. sorry about the snafu, live tv and technical issues. you don't know if you heard any of the riff, i mentioned, i mentioned stuff that you know about. i mentioned stuff you taught me about but it is interesting, if you go back almost 35, 40 years, reagan took out almost half the iranian navy. at the time, iran basically, what did they do? they set some mines up in the gulf and hit a frigate but that is all they did. they didn't hit us 160 times. they didn't start killing people, injuring large number of military servicemen and women. look what reagan did, took out half the navy. i just wonder, will joe biden learn anything from military history and why appeasement doesn't work? >> well, i'm not sure. i have some concerns that what he's about to do may not be sufficient because of what the pattern of behavior has been here ever since he took office.

the reality is, that iran looks at the administration and sees weakness, vulnerability, and opportunity for them. what has happened in the middle east, they have expanded the war in northern israel, 80,000 have been displaced by the iranian-backed hezbollah. we've seen what the houthis have done. larry, they have shut down half of the suez canal traffic, impacting the global supply chain and that obviously is iranian-backed proxies to houthis. 168 attacks on u.s. bases in iraq and syria is quite staggering and i think what we should have done, whatever we're getting ready to do let's hope it is comprehensive, we should have done it, to prevent the loss of life, not after, what was inevitable a drone or missile was going to get through.

our hearts go out to the loss of our troops and their families and temporary friends but listen, this administration has got to step up. this is the time to do it. they have got to shut down iran in terms of sanctions like the trump administration do. get after china who is buying their oil, sang -- sanction them. we have to look at the nuclear issue because they're getting dangerously close. the administration has to reset the their strategy dealing with iran and obviously some comprehensive against iranian military capability. i believe the irgc is a preferred target. its capabilities as you suggested, what reagan did, also its leaders but there are other targets. you mentioned oil fields. there is plenty of targets but it has to be comprehensive and it has to be something that iran does not want to lose and that is what is essential here if we

intend to stop this activity. larry: you know, general, on this, they should have already done it but there is -- i just want to ask you, maybe it's a sidebar but maybe not, front page of "the wall street journal," friday, first lead article this duty to warn, duty to warn, we found out, we, the readers public found out that the biden administration had picked up intel about the, soleimani's memorial service and they picked up intel that there is going to be a terrorist attack. we shared that intel with iran, who i get didn't take the intel or whatever but as i understand it, the duty to warn is, you share intel with your friend and your partners, not with your enemies. why in the world would we be sharing any intel or any money or anything with iran? i don't get that general keane?

>> yeah, it has been characteristic of the administration from day one. think of this, in january of 21 is when the administration, the first month of the administration, they began to ease up on the trump sanctions which everybody recognized was having profound impact on iranians. of course like all sanctions there are loopholes but what did they do? they eases up on them. why did they do that? they wanted to convince the iranians that the united states was serious about renegotiating the nuclear deal and they did that as a concession. so attitude of conceding to iran, to working the diplomatic negotiated settlement with them, as if they were a legitimate nation acting responsibly, responsible on a world stage which was the intent of obama negotiated jcpoa, so-called nuclear deal. here we are 10 years later after

that that deal was signed almost, this is not a responsible nation this is a nation clear about its intent, talks about its intent, dominate and control the, drive the u.s. military presence out. that is what the 160 military attacks were all about, also weaken and eventually destroy the state of israel. that is what all the proxies are involved in. until we get our head around that and develop a comprehensive strategy to deal with that with our allies and partners, we're going to continue to have these problems. larry: i mean you know the bidens always say they don't want to escalate the middle east war with israel and hamas but in effect iran has already escalated the middle east war. in fact you could argue they have been escalating the middle east war for the last several years. for example, when the sanctions were lifted that you mentioned before, the trump sanctions and whether money has changed hands, frozen account, at least some of it has. they have got oil fields, they have offshore oil fields, you

talked about they have command-and-control centers in iran, training centers in iran. that stuff would all right. why haven't we done that already, why shouldn't we do that? >> we should have done that to prevent the loss of life, not after the loss of life. they expanded the war since october the 7th? of course they have. the hezbollah have expanded. the houthis have expanded it and obviously the iranian and syria-backed militia groups expanded it with 160 attacks. the idea we're going to do something to expand the war because we're going to take action to shut the iranians escalation and expansion of the war down is foolishness. i mean, there is delusion there, that their unwillingness to confront iran. they need to work with allies and partners in the region, work with israelis on nuclear issue which is getting dangerously close and recognize that iran

you're thinking here, because these events happened fast, right, willy-nilly? the bombing and now this bill that is coming out? >> yeah. great to see you, larry and jason. i think that there is no question about the politics of the border. no question that helps trump. it was one of his most famous pledges when he first ran in 2016. samed to have done a good job because he did do a good job. crossings were down. the chaos wasn't there and now you have the chaos that everyone can see. it is not just fox and bill melugin covering it as was the case for far too long, it is across all the media. everyone is aware. even if they manage to cobble something together, even if they can do something at the last minute it's too late. that image of the chaos has been established in the american public's mind and it is very obvious that trump is the right person to deal with it. when you look at the middle east, of course right now we're all watching to see what happens. it is a moment of great tension. i don't think it is as clear-cut

as that situation politically would benefit trump. more than likely it will, why? because as you see in the middle east, around the world are the consequences of biden's weakness. remember he was sold to us, this great foreign policy genius all these years of foreign policy experience and yet the world is obviously much more unstable, and dangerous and chaotic place and middle east is the latest example. if there is, no one wants to see this, serious military confrontation with american troops at risk, sometimes you get a rallying to the flag effect for the person in the white house at the moment but i don't feel that is likely. i think again you're more likely right the middle east situation will help trump politically too. larry: i will come over to jason. look i want biden to give a tough response in the middle east. really go after the oil folds, go after offshore, go after command and control. go after training centers these
