david asman in for larry kudlow. tale of two presidents in new york. joe biden enlisted former president as barack obama and pill clinton to fund raise with him at radio city music hall for a star-studded affair. a far more somber occasion, donald trump attended the wake for nypd officer jonathan dillard. he was killed on monday night during a traffic stop in queens. the priorities and contrast of the two occasions and two presidents couldn't be more different. we'll talk about it with steve hilton and doug collins in just a moments. first fox news's nate foy has latest on the scene here in new york city. nate? >> reporter: david, good afternoon, we are expecting some protesters to arrive here outside radio city music hall momentarily. i say that, because two separate groups are meeting. one of them south of here at bryant park. another south of here at a separate park called bellview park. they're meeting at 5:00 p.m.

very telling. david: steve, another reason they may not want to talk to it, it relates so closely to the migration problem. there is so many of what is happening at the bored relates directly to crime not only national crime but international crime. you have people coming in from china. you don't know why they are coming in. you have criminal gangs coming in from venezuela. in fact the former president trump has categorized that as migrant crime. that is sticking, isn't it? >> yes. because it's exactly right. and that's what's happening in is the direct result of these policies, these open border policies. we have enough crime already in america. we don't need to be importing it and reimporting it. often you have people here illegally, criminals who enter illegally, that is another crime. they commit a crime. they are sent back. they come back again. when they are rearrested completely throwing book at them, that is federal crime there, they come back over and over again to commit crimes over

and over again through this completely open border. it is an absolute outrage. when we see a situation like this, it is incredibly important we hold these democrat politicians accountable. david: right. >> because every single one of these crimes is avoidable and should have been avoided. david: doug, the point it is policy that is making things worse right now. >> yes. david: it is policy in the past that has made things better, for example, when rudy giuliani imposed the broken windows theory on new york law enforcement it increased, it improved the situation enormously. we went from 2200 deaths every year down to 400 t was, the biggest drop in crime we have ever seen. not to mention the effect it had over all in the city in terms of making it a more liveable place, increasing tourism, increasing business in new york. all those areas it improved. it is not just new york. chicago we had this horrific case of an 11-year-old boy who was trying to defend his

pregnant mother who was stabbed to death by a perpetrator. just like the guy who shot the cop in new york city, this perpetrator allegedly, alleged perpetrator had committed many crimes before. he had a huge rap sheet but he was let out because of this new law that they have in illinois, governor pritzker when he announced the new law last august after he signed the bill, he said the following, i will get your reaction. today i will sign legislation focuses on our mandatory supervised release system on creating successful outcomes for those who were formerly incarcerated and improves the safety and peace of our communities. well first of all it's a no bail law that is on steroids. it's even worse than the new york no bail law. and we see clearly it has done nothing to improve the safety of the citizens? >> exactly. someone who worked on criminal justice reform issues most of my career in congress, working with

donald trump, working across the aisle with democrats on this, the first and foremost of anything dealing with crime your safety and your accountability for crimes committed. that's working with our police, working with our investigators to make sure not only is crime prosecuted but that the people who prosecute the crimes and also investigate the crimes are properly taken care of. then you work on a system that actually rehabilitates, you put them back in the system. without the first step, what the governor of illinois failed to realize was, is that you cannot have non-accountability. you cannot have a situation which known people of violence are let back out into situations where they can reoffend. these are situations which republicans should take the lead on. republicans know how to do this. we're willing to work to make sure our cities and country is safer the right way. the idea that you let everybody do what you want to do, that will be the key to it, you're simply pandering to a bunch of voters, that is exactly what the biden administration doing with so many issues from immigration

to crime, to israel, gaza, that's when we see. david: steve, beyond pandering they're lying about the statistics right now, claiming that blue states don't have the same crime wave in red states, because the fact we have radical d.a.s in the blue states who are not reporting crimes. people i think know what they see. people know what they feel and they're used to having now the government lying about the statistics. will democrats get anywhere with these canards they're putting out about crime stats? >> no. because it is just like when they keep trying to tell you the economy is doing great. david: yeah. >> you look at biden's approval ratings on the economy. they know what is happening in their life. they don't believe all that spin. the same with crime. the first part they're fiddling around with the statistics, dividing up counties and cities, states trying to get to a number that makes them look good. reality exactly as you described. because of endless pro-crime policies where d.a.s, to in

los angeles, in california where i am, clearly saying we'll not prosecute all the crimes. whole long list. he comes into office here is all the crimes they're not going to prosecute. first of all those prosecutions don't happen. more than that, the police get demoralized what is the point responding to calls when they know it will not result in any sanction or accountability. that demoralizes the police. they don't go out. they don't stop the crimes in the first place and the whole system just collapses. that is what we're seeing in the far left districts. david: that is doug, final point to you, got to be quick that is something president trump really stuck on was we have to have a new way of looking at police in this country from the old no police or defund the police movement to new respect for these officers who are dying as a result of these horrible policies? >> it is. it is also and again the think the most point he pointed out he mentioned family today. there are family members that send loved ones out to protect

bail china out? >> thanks for having me on. for the last 50 years american policy had been to encourage the same business people to go over to china to do business. sadly xi xinping has changed the nature of the chinese regime. so i tell these leaders, middle manager ceos, everyone who works for the companies doing business in china, you're next. when xi xinping tells you it is a win-win transaction, he has stolen more intellectual property than any human being in the history of civilization by dollar value. he undermining them, outcompeting them, destroying american jobs. be wary. understand if you're on good terms with chinese leadership today, the day they no longer need you the day they will come after your intellectual property and your employees as well. david: sounds like new york city. that is a whole other story. maybe we'll get into that another time. a lot of places are wondering if

this is the place to do business. they keep coming, i wonder what the lure is in in fact china's economy is down, they're buying less, producing less. they in fact have the opposite of our inflation problem. they have deflation there so they're not able to sell as much as they used to. is there still enough of a middle class in china so that it's within their business to do gist with -- do business with china? >> it is a couple different things. some manufacture in china and make in china. so they have big capital investments there. frankly that seems fine to me. some of them are there because they are looking for new markets. i suggest there are other markets that can provide value to the company without the risk. you see that in sourcing out of vietnam, other parts of asia, companies moving out of china. some folks will tell you they were there to placate the chinese government for the day they can actually get out. they are there as exercise in

smiling while they transition their company out of china. i think probably a wise thing for them as fiduciaries. some i think are engaged in business there that actually has national security implications and it is those leaders that need to hightail it. david: right. >> we can no longer engage, we can no longer engage with the chinese communist party on dual-use technologies or things that matter for the american supply chain and american national security. for those companies weapon need to help them by making it unlawful for them to do business there. frankly the biden administration has done some of that. same way we did that in the trump administration. batch balls, blankets, that kind of thing that is a totally different commodity. we have to make sure we get the first part right, the things we really need to control here in the united states and get those out of our adversary's nation. david: i want to talk about israel, one more quick one on china it has to be a quick answer. you see all the chinese coming across the border. huge increase in numbers, from hundreds to tens of thousands. how much do you think is

calculated by the ccp? >> nobody leaves china without xi xinping knowing it. they have perfect information and perfect control. david: what do you think xi wants his people to do here if they are the ones who are orchestrating this? >> i would say there are probably several things. probably he want people to get rid of, bad actors, criminals. some will move fentanyl. they will be part of the cartel efforts to move money and drugs into your country. some handful, i'm confident he is using for espionage or propaganda inside of our country. i fear worse. some of them will work alongside terrorists and some day we'll have a really bad day inside of the united states because we have allowed these polks to come across in ways we don't even fully appreciate yet. david: let's switch to israel if we can. you hear comments coming out of this administration, we heard it from vice president harris, getting very close to claiming

israel is committing genocide in gaza. how much closer is the biden administration actually cutting our ties with israel? >> first thing i think of the matters the most everyone who is watching needs to know this is fundamentally you too. israel has conducted their defense of their nation in a way that is deeply consistent with how good militaries, how western militaries fight. so i, while i'm sure there is a handful of bad actors know this, we should all know the israelis have done an enormous amount of work to protect civilians there. it is hamas and iran put civilians in harm's way. the predicate for this whole problem is fundamentally false. she should be ashamed of herself. she reads the intel an she knows better. second the damage that is being done to this relationship is enormous that matters not only to israel. it matters to the american people as well. unsecured jerusalem, unsafe israel, unstable middle east presents a lot of risk to the united states and that will come

back to harm us in ways that i think this administration doesn't understand, that if you don't protect american interests by having good partners and friends and defend them when they're in the time of need as israel is today, that will come back to haunt the united states. david: they're pushing me to a break but i have to ask a question about the deep state and its, how deeply it is embedded into the state department. i know you tried to move some of that out. clearly you weren't able to do it. we just had this one, a foreign affairs officer who quit the state department and she wrote an article for cnn talking about how she was essentially on the side of what amounts to hamas. she wrote a piece saying why i'm resigning. so many of my colleagues feel betrayed. i write for myself but speak for many others. how deeply embedded in the state department is this deep state contingent, and is it possible to get them out?

david: so most americans say they are worse off than they were four years ago. so why does president biden keep telling us how good our economy is if people don't feel it? edward lawrence live from the white house with more on this. >> reporter: david, the reason people are feeling this price, higher prices. some respects the economy is doing well. you look prices up 18 1/2% since president biden came into office. that is what registered voters have attached "bidenomics" to, those higher prices. president moving away from the term. he only said it once in the past two months. in october he said it 14 times. "fox news" polling show 2/3 of registered voters see the

economy poor or fair. within that number, 86% of independents view the economy negatively. you need independents to win in november. yet this is what americans hear. president biden: they're not making fun of "bidenomics" anymore, thinking maybe it works to build from the middle out, bottom up. wealthy can still be wealthy. >> reporter: working americans struggle to pay higher gas price. prices inched up the past month. 61% of registered voters say the economy will be very important how they vote coming up. listen. >> if you deflate retail sales by prices, you're looking at unsales that have stagnated. they have literally not increased at all for two years. so the strength of the consumer is really inflation illusion. it is not that they're buying more stuff. they're just paying more for the same amount of merchandise. >> reporter: look at this

how much of the growth and job statistics we're seeing every month, even though they're downgraded they do look pretty good at first print, how much of all of that growth is the result of government spending as opposed to what the private sector is doing? >> going to me first? the thing i like to look at, don't like to look at but the way i like to characterize "bidenomics" is just this, that if you go back to 2019 right before covid, then look how many more people are working today, then it is 2.3 million people working today than were working back then. but to get to 2.3, we created 3.3 million jobs for illegal aliens and a million people who were in the country in 201019 have left the labor market. how did we create those 3.3 million jobs for illegal aliens? we borrowed money from the chinese. last year we borrowed more money, government debt held by the public went by more than the increase in nominal gdp.

so we're borrowing money from the chinese to give jobs to illegal immigrants. that is what "bidenomics" is. i'm happy to talk with president biden about "bidenomics," because if you look at the facts, that is what he has done. david: steve, all of this has a consequence, the consequence is what we saw in the poll edward had. 86% of independents feel they're worse off now because their lives are pull down. the cost of everything more at the grocery store. the cost of buying really big-ticket items if you have to borrow money for, the lending costs are through the roof right now. so their daily lives are bad. i want to put up something again. we talked about this before, the president's misuse of stats saying things that just aren't true. he came out with a tweet couple weeks ago, x post, donald trump enacted, excuse me two trillion dollar tax cut that benefits the very wealthy and biggest corporations and exploded the federal deficit. under my plan nobody making less

than 400,000 will pay an additional penny in taxes. point in fact the cbo shows that total receipts from taxes between 2017 which is about when the tax cut went through to 2022 is up 48%. we have received more than 48% in tax receipts because of the trump tax cuts. that's a huge amount of increase. so all of the deficit explosion we've seen is a result of spending, has nothing to do with taxes. in fact it is just the opposite. >> well that's right. by the way great tie, today, david, i love it. david: thank you. >> let me say this. i think that if you look at these statistics it's very clear why the majority of americans say they feel that they're worse off financially. you know why, david? because they are worse off. if you look at wages and salaries, they're up about 16%. inflation is up 18 1/2%. this isn't complicated math. the average family is somewhere between 2000 and $2500 poorer

how will that affect trump's case? how will they squeeze that into their argument? >> well i think it is a separate argument that's being made and now litigated on appeal and i, i think the appellate court may look dimly on the misconduct by fani willis. it makes no sense that she and her lover nathan wade engaged in the conduct that violated the cannon of ethics, that one is disqualified, and the other remains? that will be litigated separately. david: it is, on rico, aoc says it is not a crime. it is a complex crime to prosecute in order to get everything together you have to really top legal advisors who ten you through the case. clearly nathan wade was not one such person. so, so little did he know about the whole thing that he had these meetings at the

white house. what more do we need to know about those white house meetings? who was talking to him and were they actually giving him advice of how to carry out a rico case? >> you know, fani willis long claimed this is not politically motivated prosecution. there was no coordination with the white house or the biden campaign. that is undermined by the billing records of nathan wade. he charged 16 hours, two meetings, eight hours each with the white house. nobody's answered that question. and you know, i think from a political standpoint, much less a legal one, americans deserve the answer, was this entire prosecution coordinated with donald trump's political opponent? don't forget it was joe biden who urged that trump be prosecuted. david: right. >> he told it to a bunch of
