country president joe biden finally announces an executive action about the border. i don't think it will solve anything but we'll hear from wyoming senator john barrasso in just a moment. tommy tuberville later on in the show. first up however our own edward lawrence live at the white house. he was there at the president's announcement. so edward, are what's cooking with all of this. >> reporter: potentially the president now laid the groundwork for large-scale deportations of people crossing the border. the executive actions if the number of people crossing between borders, reaches 2500 no more asylum claims is taken. until the number gets back down to 1500 level. that is when those asylum claims will be taken again. at the moment 3100 people a day are crossing between borders. so under this plan tomorrow people crossing between ports of entry will be deportenned under

title 8 if they don't mean heightened u.n. convention of credible torture. president biden: this will restore order in the process. this ban will remain in place until the number of people trying to enter illegally is reduced to a level our system can effectively managed. >> reporter: there are some exemptions though. unaccompanied minors will be exempt. raising concerns about child trafficking. 1500 a day with appointments through the cpb one app or exempted country list would also be allowed in. already more than five million people including known got-aways currently reside in this country who crossed the border illegal i under president biden. 26 states including district of columbia have population less than five million people. those moved into the united states legally extremely upset. >> my family had every type of visa you can imagine as you should and going through the

lawlessness? any talk about deportation at all? >> reporter: not of those folks currently in the country. that is not what this is about. this is under title eight what they're using. if you do the math, united states said they had 36 deportation flights in the past two days. say 200 people per flight, 7200 people. you have 3100 people crossing each day. so under this, they're going to fill up those facilities. so what happens when they can't deport all the people they need to deport? this is the issue. and you know there has been some discussion, some concern about hey, maybe they're just going to have to let go some of these folks? we'll have to to see in a couple days when the facilities get full with deport east what happens to those people. when you're flying back to nepal, we found, from china, those are long flights. you can't just turn that plane right around. larry: got it. edward lawrence, thank you very much, we appreciate it. joe biden can pretend all he

wants that he is solving this border catastrophe but frankly nobody believes it. that is the subject of the riff. joe biden's not going to fool anybody. this last-ditch election ploy to curb the flow of illegal immigrants coming into the u.s. looks to be vague, riddled with exceptions an frankly unenforceable. then again does anybody really believe mr. biden wants to enforce any limits to illegal immigration? don't think so. i mean here's a guy whose policies have already let in at least 10 million illegals with all the horrors that accompany that number including sex trafficking, drug trafficking, kidnapping, crime, and enormous experience to taxpayers. joe biden refuses to invoke section 287-g of the immigration and nationality act which empowers the border authorities to work with local police enforcement in sanctuary cities in order to identify, catch and

then deport criminals. now an effort like this would pay huge dividends and would send the right message to the illegals themselves where they're from. there will be a numbers game coming out of the white house but frankly nobody is going to believe it. i've seen estimates when migration is limited to 2500 per day, if you put that for a full calendar year, crossings would hit 912,000 but hundreds of thousands more have come in using the cpb 1 app. of course biden recently issued an executive order to let in roughly 400,000 through a mass parole scheme. cubans, haitians, nicaraguans, they can all fly directly into america. that is another 400,000. so analysis in the new york post suggests suggests biden's new crackdown could still permit 1.75 million new arrivals every year. now does anybody have confidence that he will even implement

that? my thought is, how about zero illegals entering into the u.s. each year? personally i'm very much in favor of legal immigrants, maybe a million or so each year. that by the way was a number proposed by then president trump but let's not blur the distinction between legal and illegal. legal immigrants who speak english, who know some american history and sings, provide evidence they have a job waiting for them or going to make a significant investment into american business, these are all ideas put forward by the trump administration using a point-based system that shows qualifying or non-qualifying. this policy by the way copied from countries like canada, new zealand and australia who have very successful, legal immigration programs but the

democratic congress would have none of trump's plan. joe biden never mentions a plan for legal immigration reform and that's a pity because a good plan would solve so many problems. now one more point, in his brilliant speech in waukesha, wisconsin earlier in may, mr. trump talked about the spiraling cost of illegal immigration and how that is going to damage major entitlement programs. take a listen to what he said. >> i mean it's just, it is a going to end up cutting social security by allowing millions and millions which is not sustainable of people coming into our country through the southern border you're going destroy social security. you're going to destroy medicare. you will destroy the fabric of the country. it is not sustainable. it is not affordable by any country. larry: this is such an important point. so far cost estimates for food, housing and health care are

running upwards of $150 billion, that according to the house budget committee. in all likelihood the true cost is much greater but trump's point is so important. the spiraling cost of illegal immigration will crowd out america's basic entitlement system. this is a problem no one but mr. trump has dared raise. on the other hand just ask taxpayers on the street already footing high cost bills of illegal immigration. joe biden can pretend all he wants that he is solving this problem but the reality is, nothing is going to change. nothing is going to change until that is the white house changes hands, all right? that's my riff. now, joining us to talk about this we welcome back to the show senator john barrasso of the great state of wyoming. mr. barrasso as always, sir, great to see you. you heard my riff, but what's

your own riff, what's your take on this thing? >> larry, great to be with you, this is the politics of panic and it is much too little too late and the white house and biden, every open border democrat has a right to be panicked because they know our open border is the number one concern of american voters. they know they let 10 million illegal immigrants into this country. that is what they have done over the years biden has been in office. they have 94 executive orders, democrats have put forward opening the border. now they have one that they say they're going to try to shut it down. this is campaign camouflage. that's all that it is. this is the biden administration saying oh, my god, we know that we're in trouble, we know that the american people don't trust us on the border. we have to do something. we have to pretend we're doing something. whereas if they really wanted to do something to secure the border, they would finish the wall, they would get rid of the policy which is

catch-and-release. we would restore the remain in mexico policy that worked so well while president trump was in the white house. larry: by the way the newly-elected president of mexico, the woman, she said she would stop to cooperate with the immigration problem. obrador, a.m. low was cooperative with trump. when biden repealed all the executive others mexico turned its back. to this day never restored the 25,000 troops they put on the border to stop all of this. as you well know this history, mr. barrasso. just a simple question, who is going to enforce this, how is this going to be enforced? honestly 2500 per day for a week. then we go to 1500. then we go up, i don't understand this. we don't have the man power. already it is bad enough that the border authorities are being used as babysitters rather than

actually military authority those be stopping be how will this be enforced? i don't get it? >> the open border democrats have no interest in enforcing it. they're interested in smoothing the flow, instead of stopping flood of illegal immigrants coming into this country. when joe biden walked into the white house that first day our southern border was secure. so the democrats are completely responsible for the drugs and death and destruction that has come into our country ever since. we're talking about criminal cartels, drug dealers, people on the criminal watch list, the terrorist watch list. those are the people that are threatening america. that is who the attorney general was talking about today in the house when he said he is really worried about a terrorist attack. you've seen that venezuelan, the 19-year-old who just shot two police officers in new york. remember it is the democrats who stopped building the wall. the democrats stopped "remain in mexico" and brought us this catch and release. it is democrats that stopped allowing our border patrol to do what they needed to do to

enforce the law. i believe come november, that the american people are going to hold all these open border democrats as well as joe biden responsible, accountable and throw them out of office. larry: is anybody talking about, seriously niche talking about deporting criminals? that is tied up with sanctuary cities. i just heard, there is a story in today's "new york post," i think it was today's, sir, might have been yesterday, the post reports how our mayor eric adams who can be so good, so not so good, i don't want to get into that, a different segment, adams meeting with biden officials in washington, basically said he wants to end new york city's status as a sanctuary city. he actually said that. had an argument with the white house senior staff person who is now the campaign manager as i recall in this story and basically said i can't get rid of these criminals and i don't want to pay for them. we're going to change our status

away from the sanctuary city. now as you know, senator barrasso, that is a key element of solving this problem or beginning to solve it. is anybody in the white house or the administration or dhs or, i don't know, you know, humpty-dumpty sitting on a wall? is anybody talking about this? these would be meaningful solutions? >> i agree with you, larry, they would be meaningful solutions. i don't think the democrats want that. the democrats love that sanctuary cities are magnets for illegal immigrants. see it in colorado, denver, see it in san francisco, see it in chicago. what that means, more illegal immigrants moved there, they're now counted as part of census. as you know the census in my opinion should be for u.s. citizens. it should be for anybody that happens to be there. they use the census to determine how many congressional seat as state gets. how many electoral college votes that state gets.

it impacts our elections. so many blue states people are leaving, they want to get out of there with states with high taxes, that crime, they need population centers to continue their role in elections. the white house is happy to have all sanctuary cities as magnets for illegal immigrants counted as part of the census. larry: i would make a small suggestion with the greatest of humility, you and your colleagues put together a legal immigration reform, a legal immigration reform plan and please feel free to borrow heavily from what many of us in the trump administration worked on in 2020. the clock ran out. the democratic congress didn't want to touch it. you may recall this, john, based on a point system, know some civics, speak english, know some american history, show you can get a job make an investment into an american business. we borrowed heavily from canada,

new zealand, australia, which have frankly much better legal systems than we have. i think it would be great to show a positive. here is what a legal system can look like. we'll have big changes. restore remain in mexico, the wall and so forth, deport criminals, all that yes, at the same time, here is what the legal system would look like. run on a positive platform. democrats don't want to touch that one with a 20-foot pole, they never did. >> it would only work if donald trump was back in the white house. he would actually enforce the law. we have a lawless president right now in joe biden and lawless democrats who will not enforce the law even if that was the law that was passed. they're not enforcing laws on the books now. there has not been a change in the law since you and president trump left the white house and biden came in. the border was secure the day he came in and no law has been changed. it is a matter of what they refuse to enforce, which is why

larry: let's talk economics. mike fall can der, american policy institute and "breitbart"'s john carney. gentlemen, welcome. jon, you're day-to-day guy with your great "breitbart" bulletin. the hotlanta fed marked down its gdp for q2 to 1.8%. they were above four at the beginning of the quarter. as you know the first quarter was 1.3. a lot of this was because of the slump in manufacturing and today the jolts report showed that job openings continued to decline. so it looks like a slump is in process, john carney, what do you think? >> so the 57% decline in gdp now is probably overstating what happened. there is no way in three weeks that the economi

a little wary of reading too much into that decline but i do think that there is a real signs of a slump happening in the economy. if you look the way the stock market has been responding to economic news, it has gone from reading bad news equals good news because the fed is going to cut to bad news actually being bad news. we were up a little bit today but not by very much. you would have thought if we got a weak jolts number the stock market would throw a big party because the fed would cut. i think that didn't happen because investors are wary with what is going on in the economy. larry: mike falkander, it is the business side, yes, real retail sales looked very sloppy this year, but, the ism manufacturing report dovetails with lousy numbers for industrial production, manufacturing production, and the production of business equipment and machinery, right? that's the business side or the supply side of the economy.

and that will drive things down. i mean, in some sense if you look under the hood, it's business that really drives the economy, not the consumer. you know, there is this gross output model, i don't want to go into it, we don't have enough time but i'm just saying business-to-business spending is very important and it looks very slumpy fall can der? >> yeah we're seeing weakness in quite a lot of places, larry. as you said the i ism numbers lk weak, industrial production numbers, if you go back to the consumer side the numbers last three months in inflation adjusted terms are flatdowntown in february, down in april, very minor increase in march. look at the pce number which came out last week the biggest contributor to the gdp number, it was down for the month of april which april is the biggest contributor to the q2 number around so it does seem like there's a slowdown on the consumer side. you've got all the things that

you mentioned on the business side. couple that with the fact that the biden administration is just in overdrive in its regulatory zeal in order to get a bunch of rules out that will continue to slum business investment, and it's no wonder that you're seeing this reduction in forecasts of economic out put. larry: we talked about it last night with former energy secretary rick perry. we talked about how the biden administration wants to jail oil and gas ceos. what a fun thing. trump is not enough, they want to go after oil and gas ceos. we may all be next. john carney, the fed is not going to cut-rates though, is it? >> no, the fed will not cut-rates. one or two months of weakness is not enough to get them to cut. there are people who are saying they will cut in july or september. i think there is no way they cut in july. the september one would create a political explosion. larry i do want to say some signs while april is very weak,

may may have had a little bit of a rebound. if you look at things like jobless claims or the s&p global pmi, it is kind of indicating that april was bad, may might not be as bad. so, you know the gdp now number is pretty much all april numbers right now. we're just getting in may. so we could actually see a little bit of a rebound. larry: yeah, i take the isms over those s&ps, that is just me, that's just my view. mike falkander we've been talking about joe biden's faux attempts to curb illegal immigration. how much of a hit are real wages taking as a result of this pandemic of illegal immigration? >> well you know, larry, back in the trump administration we had the blue-collar boom that you and i talked about so often and a lot of it came to the fact we finally had some labor pressure on middle and lower income jobs because there wasn't this flood

of illegals putting downward pressure on wages. so for the first time in quite a long time you sawdust steel production workers and non-supervisory workers seeing higher wage growth than managers and supervisors. the bottom half of the income producers were seeing higher wage increases than the top half. when you have a competitive labor market for low-skilled, medium-skilled jobs you will get better outcomes. whereas if you flood the market with illegals. you allow them to have work permits so they immediately enter the workforce, that will depress wages particularly at the lower, middle income portion of distribution. larry: we looked at some numbers last night. real wages went up, i don't know, per family, on average by i think close to $6,000 during the trump years. all four trump years including the pandemic. >> that's right. larry: real wages under biden have fallen over $2000. that is an 8,000-dollar swing is
