particular good to hear the cityscape of new york city on this friday morning, the one and only ray charles. it is 10:00 eastern. i'm ashley webster in for stuart varney. let's get to your money, the dow continues to move slightly lower but the s&p is up 10.2, the nasdaq, any gains will be a record high, nasdaq up 86 points. let's look at the treasury yield, treasuries have been falling as we've seen the unemployment rate take up to 0.1%. maybe the fed will take that is assigned to cut. the yields down for basis points, 4.31% on a 10 year. look at the price of oil, up $0.24, $84 a barrel.

bitcoin, the crypto space has been dropping to a 4-month low. bitcoin is down 56,180. now this. president biden is resisting mounting pressure to step aside. donors are pressuring to pool their money and democrats calling for a new candidate seems to be growing by the day. tammy bruce joins me in now. all right, can democrats convince joe biden to drop out? tammy:here's the problem. if he understood the situation and accepted it. all of this convincing would not have to happen. it seems everybody understands this on the democratic side with the exception of joe and jill biden. joe biden is the decision-maker
10:03 am
here so they are team but the fact is you shouldn't have to have open it orioles in the new york times which indicates there's no communication by the pravda of the democratic party even in the white house. you have major democrat operatives on television clearly trying to communicate into the white house what should happen, that tells you there's no unity in working together and if convincing still has to occur it means the bidens themselves do not want to go and this is the big problem, not because it's generosity of letting him make the decision. he won the delegates. we had a primary. going through the process at the convention. he has to agree that doesn't look like it is happening. ashley: is a biden replacement
10:04 am
good or bad for trump? depend to the replacement is but could end up hurting trump? >> this race is not about president biden personally. it is about policy. at the end of the day no matter who the democrat nominee, especially if it is kamala harris who has a hand in burning down the country, this is about the economy, the broken border, crime, all those things affecting everyone every day at the kitchen table and doesn't matter if they put a new mask on the person who is destroying our future and that's the message. it is president biden, yes, but it's the policies that have been implemented by the cadre of unknown people with him as their front facemask on. ashley: with regards to kamala harris, donald trump thinks she will replace biden, he said
10:05 am
this, quote, how did i go -- how did i do with the debate the other night, we take that old broken down pile of you know what he is saying, he is quitting the race and that means we have kamala. i think she's going to be better, she is so bad, she is so pathetic. harsh words indeed. what do you make of this possible trump/harris matchup, how would that go? >> donald trump at this point as we've seen with everything they've thrown at him, as they continue to try to destroy him because they knew they couldn't beat him. it is now clear and this is where everything they've done has backfired, that he is the person who can get this nation back on her feet, no matter who the nominee is, he will be fine because this is not about personalities, it's about what did trump coppage versus what have the democrats done to this country. when it comes to debates she
10:06 am
couldn't survive even a little bit into the debate, she dropped out when she was running for president and disappeared, her own state was not happy with her. whoever it is donald trump will be the next president of this country and we are going to get back in order. ashley: we will leave it there. tammy bruce joining us this morning, thank you, thank you. some delegates to the democratic national convention you should blow to biden's nomination. good morning, what's going on? kelly:democrats are scrambling for more time. axis is reporting delegates want as much time as possible to decide on president biden's candidacy. the democratic national convention is the week of august 19th, but democrats 19, but democrats are planning to hold a virtual rollcall by august 7th. that was originally the ohio deadline to get on the ballot
10:07 am
in that state, very important for president biden to be on that key swing state, the republican governor has signed legislation moving the deadline to august 23rd but democrats are still a little skeptical about that holding so they want more time because of president biden does drop out, that is a tighter turnaround to figure out the solution and this also comes as more elected officials are coming out publicly, massachusetts congressman seth moulton said the parties having tough conversations and considering all viable options. he shared this on twitter. representative moulton was an advisor of mine going to my undergraduate degree. i can vouch, he's a motoring man, he doesn't say these things lightly so when i hear him saying things like this, you know that there is trouble. ashley: nice bit of inside information. another one for you. one democrat congressman bennie thompson says does biden step aside, kamala harris is in trouble. explain it to me.
10:08 am
>> it all comes down to money. the funds that were raised under the biden/harris campaign can be easily transferred to her, parties leaders like the obamas and clintons would likely throw their support behind her, be very hard to go against the big block and representative thompson said it would be the kiss of death to push her aside since, quote, you can't say biden has done a good job without saying she has done a good job. nominating harris would avoid the chaos of an open convention which would be televised. ashley: must-see tv for sure. thank you. stay there. you're with us for the hour. we appreciate it. thank you for that. let's look at the markets. the dow up a quarter of one%, the s&p and nasdaq moving slightly higher. dr barton joined me now, great
