agenda this friday, steve, also in north carolina. she says she's going to stop inflation. she's been in the white house for four years. she's going to talk about, you know, corporate greed and price gouging. if that were true, where was the price gouging under trump? if i mean, inflation is at a third of where it was -- it was a third of what it was under trump, but now it's now above 20% compounded. i mean, and she's going to, again, she's going to blame policies that she had steerage over for four years. remember under obama he was throwing thunder bolts at the oil companies saying oil prices are high, we're going to do a task force? that didn't fix anything. >> well, first of all, i've seen that video that you just played, liz, because it's going viral all over the place. so people -- it really touches people when they see that, because it relates to so many, you know, black voters and hispanic voters and working class people who just are having a tough time paying their bills.

and, you know, it's aa sonnishing to me -- astonishing to me that democrats want to take this victory lap on bidenomics when just a poll came out the other day showing 60% of americans think the u.s. economy is in a recession, for goodness sakes x. that's because, liz, if you're losing money, if you, if you're peer today than you were -- poorer today than you were four years ago which is the case for most workers in america, you are in a recession. i don't care what the official definition is, i know what it is, two straight quarters of negative growth, and we do have gdp growth, but we don't have income growth for the american workers -- elizabeth ble yeah. the real wage growth -- yeah, wages are still down 2%. >> yes. elizabeth: they got a pay cut under this biden white house. you know, the government just relaxed again emergency withdrawals from 401(k)s to cover emergency personal pensions. now, so you heard trump -- expenses. he's focused on policy. we had peter navarro, kellyanne

conway urging him to stay on policy, stay on messaging, stop talking about the kamala's identity and rally sizes because they have nate silver saying the race is a toss-up. the nonpartisan cook report says vice president harris is slightly leading or tied with trump in all but one of the seven battlegrounds. trump still holds a slim lead in nevada. do you think he did it today? do you think he's now focused on policies, he's not going to bring up her identity and stuff like that anymore? >> well, look, i think trump sometimes -- and i'm a big fan of donald trump's. i've worked for him for eight years now in one capacity or another, but sometimes he truly can be his own worst enemy. and when he really focuses on the issues that matter to people, the reason he won in 2016 and, by the way, don't forget in 2016 at this time of the race people were literally saying he had a 1 in 1000 chance of winning, remember that? and of course, he won. so i'm not bothed by these polls. i just -- bothered by these polls. i want him to have a positive

fox business' edward lawrence has the latest. edward. >> reporter: and, liz, also this is exactly what the federal reserve wants to see, inflation coming down slightly, so they can make their first rate cut in september. inflation did overall come down just under 3% for the first time since march of 2021. now, this inflation report also showed the economic pain if americans continue to endure. from the month president biden and vice president harris came into office, overall inflation up 19.5%, rent is up in that time more than 22%. auto insurance up about 55%. food at the grocery store up more than the 911% -- 21% from january 20 the 3211. the president frustrated, though, people don't feel what he sees as a success. >> yes, yes, yes. i told you we're going to have a soft landing, my policies are working, start writing that way, okay? >> reporter: however, exploding credit card debt, up 48% since president biden and vice president harris started institute thing their policies. the delinquency is rate on that

[cheers and applause] >> america needs to know my story concerning governor tim walz and what he did to me as well as so many other business owners in the state of minnesota. southern minnesota was a lovely wine and coffee bistro, and it had been in operation for going on eight years by the time that my business was shut down and destroyed. >> governor walz and, you know, his staff, they were happy to sit home and collect a paycheck. well, that's not something i could do. he's not good in a crisis. elizabeth: okay. you know, minnesota governor, you just heard him, tim walz saying, quote, mind your own business. he didn't do that when he shut down everyone else's businesses in his draconian covid lockdowns and small businesses were lit up, on fire when he delayed sending in the troops to stop the 2020 the riots that burned small businesses to the ground. joining us now, former minnesota bar owner lisa zarza.

lisa, we admire you so much. thank you for coming on the show tonight. >> thanks for having me. elizabeth: what happened to you? your story is so heartbreaking, we just wanted to find out -- so you lost your bar and were forced into bankruptcy under tim walz? what happened? >> well, essentially, tim walz shut down our state with the entire country, the first shutdown on march 17th of 2020. on this november 20th of 2020, he the decided to shut our state down for a second time when most of the nation had already, was starting to see that shutting down and social distancing was not maybe the most effective way to curb covid. he shut our state down, and on december 16th me and about ten other business owners decided to open up our business and violate ton lawful executive orders. what ensued from there was i lost all my food licenses, my liquor license, i was barred

from the state. i lost two businesses. i owned two different, separate businesses. barred from the state for having a liquor license for five years, was forced to file personal bankruptcy, was fined over $300,000 from the attorney general of minnesota, keith ellison, and now i own an amazing business in wisconsin because if you look at what tim walz did when he shut down our state, he was crossing the border and coming into wisconsin and going to dinner in the wisconsin bars that he shut down in minnesota. elizabeth: lisa, you know, this is outrageous. you were bullied. small businesses were bullied under keith ellison and tim walz. they had no right to do this. so you were also threatened with arrests and fines by walz's administration. you feel you were unfairly targeted. you filed for bankruptcy. i think you have $300,000 in legal fees. when tim walz let big box stores like target, walmart and home depot to operate, but they really went after the small business guys and gals.

>> well, unfortunately, the same executive order -- they shut down the minnesota bars on, like i said, november 20th. we were all running at 50% in minnesota. that executive order shut all bars down from 50% to 0% occupancy. it's the same executive order that opened up all stores, all retail stores 100% which fell a week before black friday. there was an e-mail string in october saying he saw no correlation between bars and restaurants and the spread of covid, and this was sent to the minnesota department of health director, and they said, let's get creative to we can find that correlation. there was no correlation. he just targeted small businesses that congress fight back. we weren't the big stores. we couldn't fight back. elizabeth: it's wrong, lisa, what happened to you. thank you so much for bringing us that story. you know, it's no wonder -- stories like lisa's, you know, job growth collapsed under tim walz period, full stop.
