>> it is working. in case you have not noticed, it is working. >> the president saying the vice president kamala harris will not distance herself from the current economic policies. both blame companies for inflation. a federal law banning price gouging with the ftc leading investigations. also calling out middlemen as examples of raising prices. vowing to increase competition. inflation a target for former president trump. listen to this. >> we have all of the television the greatest commercial they have ever had. but that is what happened. this is inflation. this is inflation. this is what has happened. i just happen to have somebody

giving me this one today. i think we'll put it up as an example of inflation. >> that is what happened under the biden harris administration. going back to the policies that created low-energy and almost no inflation. you remember probably the federal reserve having discussions about how low inflation was. they were trying to spark it in 2020 because it was too low. they could not get it back to 20 %. kudlow: thank you so much. are you better off now with biden harris? that is the subject of tonight with. ♪ taking a few wrong exits off the i-95 on the way to the white house, donald trump is totally back on message. hats off to michael mckenna writing in the washington times giving trump a strong policy oriented interview posting on xbase solid critique of the economy and immigration.

a conversation with elon musk. all true, all true. yesterday, his intellectual speech on the economy in north carolina. you know, mr. trump is who he is he is authentic, he does listen to his friends, but he also has a tremendous amount of knowledge regarding the key policy messages that hit voters in their gut and win elections. in fairness to him, for over two years in his historic political comeback, he has repeatedly stayed on message regarding tax cuts, deregulation, drill baby drill, closing the border, putting out the foreign fighters even though foreign polls, they show them doing very well across the board. even better in the breakdown. white and nonwhite working-class voters.

plus, strong leads on issues including the economy, border, foreign policy and crime. you know, kamala harris really a lot more hype than reality. now, in north carolina, talking and some length about bringing down energy and electricity costs by unlocking the fossil fuel spigots and of course drill baby drill. bringing down prices with the whole government approach. people really do not realize how much fossil fuel related costs permeate the entire economy. i always keep a list in my folder from the energy department slightly less than 200 items linked to petroleum. ballpoint pens, cell phones, computers, dog collars, eyeglasses, golf bags, purses,

shampoo, shaving cream, solar panels, tennis rackets, toothpaste, clothing, that is just to name a few. the point is by deregulating the fossil fuel sector and encouraging more production, prices could drop from $80 a barrel to somewhere around $40. that would/costs literally throughout the economy. that is what mr. trump is getting out. also in north carolina mr. trump emphasized his tax cuts two-point oh. curving federal spending, promoting growth and doing so well through republican national convention in milwaukee, mr. trump in north carolina was growth here. talking about growth and more growth here. just take a listen to this. >> our current deficits will be reduced to practically nothing. our power will be by growth. paying off our debt.

all of this income coming in. >> growth dissolves deficit and debt. that from the supply side of the economy will also curb inflation by producing more goods. on trade, he emphasized the principle of reciprocity by saying we will have 10-20% on foreign countries that have been ripping us off for years. he did not mention anything about baseline tariffs. reciprocity is a far battle property. mr. trump is dedicating himself to ending the bias harris affordability crisis for prices have risen faster than paychex in real wages have fallen. he did it once with the successful policy and he is ready to do it even better a second time. meanwhile, kamala harris

example, none of that is in the cpi. it really ought to be. >> larry, go buy some insurance. home insurance, car insurance, they have skyrocketed. it is amazing that people don't really look and understand what is going on. a lot of it is because of crime. a lot of it is because of illegal immigration. it is just something that people look at one thing and food prices. the interest rate, like you said , they will drop them. who cares. they will drop them a quarter percent. people are struggling. they cannot pay their bills. they cannot send their kids to school with the right things to have in terms of learning. this is a tough time for the american citizen in the american family. >> let me just play a little bit more tape from trump's speech in north carolina yesterday. have a listen, sir. >> this is how we will end that era of inflation, mayhem and mayhem unleashing every race,

religion, color and creed. [cheering and applause] together, we will deliver low taxes, low regulations, low energy costs, low inflation, low interest rates so that everyone can afford groceries, a car and a home. every one will prosper. every family will thrive and every day will be thrilled with the opportunity, hope and joy. >> there you have it. for those folks concerned he was off message, i've got to say he was sure back on message. what do you think of that? is he back on message now? >> 100%. low taxes, local -- low regulation. that is what the american people need. we have to give them a chance. we are not giving them a chance with the biden harris administration. we will not give them a chance if we put them in terms of biden harris or biden tim walz,

whatever group that is a give them the same playbook. they need to change that playbook. kamala harris says she will bring prices down. how about doing it right now for the american people. not wait for january the 20th. >> i like that plan. we found studies, joe biden said this. price gouging, meat companies, chicken, poultry companies and then studies were done by all of these agencies. they came up with nothing. san francisco fed which is not known for its conservatism. they came out with the study that said so-called price gouging had nothing to do with inflation in the u.s. they always talk about corporate greed. this will be kamala harris big economic speech tomorrow. this is so tired, we have known now for 50 years. ever since richard nixon made the mistake that price controls never work and when the price

controls come off, prices come shooting up anyway because of demand to be at we have known this. how tired is that kind of approach? >> i can remember back in the 1970s when i was a young guy. putting caps on rent. absolutely almost destroyed the inner cities in terms of apartments because nobody built apartments. if you cannot rent them for what you need to get your money back out of them, if you are the developer, there is no reason to build. that is exactly what will happen here. i am anxious to hear her economic speech. it has been a disaster for the last few years. all socialism. giveaway. make the american people send in tax money. the american tax people say 330 billion. we spent 545 billion. we cannot continue to do this, larry. we are dead broke the one president biden proposed federal rent controls for the whole country.

i bet you that kamala harris has said in her plight. what you saw in the cities, they want to do it nationwide. it is absolutely incredible. interestingly to me, we did a review. trumps polls are actually quite decent. he has a small lead. one point lead nationwide. this is cnn fox. nationwide does not mean much, really. serving as swing states. he is also doing very well among working-class voters. he is outperforming harris is, he is outperforming obama. he is outperforming joe biden himself. trump is doing very well whether it is minority working-class voters or it is white working class voters or it is all working-class voters. this is his hidden weapon. he is appealing to a working-class coalition. interestingly nobody wants to

say this but the numbers are there. the poll suggests he is succeeding in building working-class coalition. >> he will explode after labor day. people will come to their senses it is coming. we will compare to the senate races. we are doing very well. trump is doing just as well or better. >> governor of minnesota, tim walz, at a boston fundraiser says this is from the press pool i will quote, i feel like one of my rolls in this now is to be the anti-tommy tuberville to show the football coaches are not the dumbest people. this is a guy that was an

assistant high school football coach. what is he getting at? what is he, by the way? >> i think he is trying to make himself relevant. i had a decent career in 35 years of coaching. enjoyed every bit of it. when you start comparing politics with education, there is no comparison. education is so important in this country. he did not last very long and it this is a guy that left his unit and did not go to fight when they had to go fight in afghanistan. he did several things as minnesota's governor that just abandoned the police. i do not take that with a grain of salt. i am proud is what i did as a coach. i am proud of the procession and all the kids that i worked with. they were great. he has one step away from possibly being vice president of the united states. i do not know how he's done it, but he has worked his way up but i guess it's by smoke and mirrors. >> are you fixing to be glued to

your tv set and watch the democratic national convention in chicago illinois? are you fixing to do that, senator? >> i will be fired up. i will probably play golf real late. i've never played golf but i might play night golf. you have to pay attention to some of these numbers. mr. trump is still going strong and some of the polls thanks to working-class voters. joining us now to talk about this is charlie hurd fox news

contributor and katie townhall .com editor and fox news contributor. both of you are keer. charlie just said i got the short end of the stickies on said in your remote. >> dang it. that's a bummer. interesting numbers here. overall working-class voters support. overall working-class. obama in 2012 was plus four. joe biden was minus four in 2020 kamala harris minus 50 teen right now. that is how blatt -- that is how bad she slipped. obama minus 20. kamala minus 38 right now. even nonwhite working class which obama had 67% in 2012 ms. harris only has 29.

i know this is supposed to be a big room for kamala, but these numbers suggest that mr. trump is doing just fine for his working-class coalition. what do you think about it? >> first of all not exactly a relatable candidate when it comes to the working class. that is the first thing. the second thing it is very clear that the working class in all these different demographics understand that kamala harris is tied directly to bidenomics and the administration. they been living this nightmare in terms of inflation. not being able to avoid goods and services. they do not want a redo. they then told that inflation was transitory. that everything was fine. they know that it is not. that is why you're seeing the working class working against us mandates for example and that affects workers in michigan in terms of building cars and it also affects people who just

want to get to work that cannot afford an electric car. if they had one it would probably break down on the way. >> indeed. you cannot afford the insurance for it anyway. working-class numbers. if we are talking about michigan , wisconsin, pennsylvania, she's got problems she has a problem. let me read something else. fox pulled. trump's plus six on the economy. narrower than biden. plus 19 on the border. plus five on crime plus seven on foreign policy. it is not like the trump campaign has collapsed. leading the media outlet it has collapsed. >> i would grant the miss. i do think that this is a high watermark for the harris campaign. she has gotten unprecedented amount of propaganda the last few weeks. we will see another week of just hysterical propaganda.

hopefully, we will also see some of the crazy side of democrats. >> we will see every nut cake in the country. giving speeches nonetheless. tommy tuberville will play nighttime golf. >> we will get paid to watch it. we do not have a choice. i will have my pen and paper and i intend to tell everybody all the crazy stuff that i hear. >> after this, i think we get, talking about these important issues, the american people are not stupid. the policies that are good for them and the policies bad for them. you are talking about two people with harris and tim walz in the public sector their entire lives basically. never in the paycheck. never created a job. the comparison against jd vance and of course, obviously, donald trump. people have created jobs, worked in the private sector, created real wealth.

these angry class warfare political schemes usually do not pay off. >> they don't. especially for the great middle class. i am just reading from michael. government run healthcare. by the way, no private health insurance which is a killer. 220 million some odd american spirit opening the southern border, confiscating funds. higher taxes, more spending. how do you sell that? how do you flip-flop your way through that, katie? i do not get it. >> trying to sell their campaign as freedom and minding your own business and yet you just listed off the things they want to take away or control in their own lives. tim walz and harris not being in business, not being in the

private sector, but they through people in jail for months for disobeying covid laws after opening up their own businesses because they wanted to survive as a business and pay their workers. you cannot tell me there were -- therefore the working class when they're throwing people in jail for operating their business. of course, you have kamala harris who is very much engaged and a supporter of these mandates that control business and control people's livelihoods that is a record they want to run away from. they are running towards beating donald trump without his name. that's why they stole the tax on tips and probably a bunch of other policy positions as well. these are democratic positions, not trump spirit if their opinions in policy positions were popular, they would not be running away from them. they would be running towards them. the propaganda campaign getting

away from their actual record. >> charlie, another point, senator tommy tuberville used venezuelan style price control. we don't need soviet style. price controls, price gouging, we hate businesses, corporations are greedy and evil. you know, this is us so old i cannot believe it has political value at all. when joe biden started on the price gouging as an explanation for 9% inflation, everybody looked at it in the federal government came up with nothing and the san francisco fed did a study on it said, no, price gouging is not a part of the u.s. inflation. you try to play this over again. this movie or this record or this nightmare is so boring. >> it is pure communism. if you believe all wealth is created by government

intervention, that is communism. we've tried this before and it has killed 100 million humans on the planet over the past 100 years. it is a very dangerous thing. in the past, americans have never been willing, you know, they've seen through this. quite frankly, not to get really dark about it, it's my belief, this is why democrats have done all they could to destroy education. they don't want kids to know the history of communism because they will try to rebrand it and sell it with, like katie said, freedom. it is very dangerous. it kills people. people starve under these policies. >> really quick. trump has a proposal to take the energy department, basically, slam it down and said the segments off around the country, what is left of it. charlie made me think of it on education. i think that's pretty ideal,

this gave investors confidence that maybe the job market is slowing, but not falling off the cliff just yet. the dow left up over 500 points. s&p and nasdaq knocked off its fifth straight day of gains. the s&p has fully recovered. losses from the big slide last week. it was led by consumer discretionary. we see a coupl the stocks on the screen that go back to that notion that consumers are still spending. walmart earnings. beat top and bottom line and the raised guidance line for the rest of the year. few companies especially retailers right now are doing now. just a word of caution. walmart gains came from higher income households. a trade down due to higher prices elsewhere. we also got a read on manufacturing production. that came in cooler than expected and that is month over month. that tends to be a leading

recession indicator. that did not really come through in the markets today, larry. >> industrial production minus 0.6%. it is down and so is manufacturing. mr. trump was focused on the growth your message last night. here is scott with the president in north carolina. take a listen. >> kamala harris will start with the kamala crash in the stock market and then it will be the kamala crash in the economy. kudlow: well, guess what, scott joins us now. founder and ceo of t-square investments. joined by steve moore. are you looking for a big stock market crash? 1929. >> look, larry, i think we cannot rule out anything at kamala and the democrats get back in november. they love big government had as

governor tim walz and their failed policies. you can see his narrative improving on that. i think most of all, he gave a positive outlook for the future and his vision for trump 2.0. >> steve moore, i know you are itching to get in. i want to play some tape from yesterday's speech. here it comes. >> further reduced consumer prices. i will immediately eliminate every single costly job. in my first term our regulation cuts save the typical american family $11,000. by repealing the biden harris onslaught we can save an estimated $20,000. we will make additional tax cuts that is what gave us the great economy. we will make tax cuts traditionally. we will make them permanent.

>> steve moore i'm sure you read more and hurt more and listen more. he has his groove back, i tend to agree. this is the growth ese has been since the republican national convention in milwaukee. steve moore, what do you make of it? >> i know wall street is doing well. i am happy to see the stock market up high. there was a poll that just came out a month or so ago. 60% of americans still think america is in a recession. a lot of people in the media laughed and said how stupid are these americans. technically we are not in a recession. i understand that. for the last three and a half years, the average family has lost $2000 of real income. reagan used to use the term real take-home pay. that is being reduced for the average family. i would submit to you, if your income is falling, your ability to pay your bills is falling,

you are in a recession. that's the part that kamala harris does not understand. she has tried to convince people that bidenomics has been a success. every statistic larry, almost every single one shows the economy did substantially better when trump was president. whether it's small business optimism or the stock market or people's real incomes or gas prices, almost every one of those was better. >> politics aside for one moment two days retail sales were better than expected. no question about it. the numbers were the numbers. it is interesting. it has declined. manufacturing production looked to be frankly -- they are now falling. the level is falling. business equipment which is a very important proxy for business investment on the supply side of the economy is

falling. it's been falling steadily. the housing situation has been following it is an uneven economy. it is not a rosy scenario. it is not yet in a recession. maybe the front end of a recession. >> it is a bifurcated economy. as steve said we see in this the past year. the bottom 50% have been in a recession. their inflation expectations are twice the medium inflation expectations of the average household. they are expecting 6% inflation because it has been so high. food and gas and you know the other thing, larry, the government has a huge budget deficit. just going to a certain cohort. this is not politics. it is reality.

if you are not an industrial company that is not part of the green new deal, not part of the chips act, you are being crowded out. >> steve moore. the expectation tomorrow is kamala harris will give her speech on the economy and federal price gouging or price controls, an attack on business, we have looked at this. there is no price gouging. the evidence shows san francisco fed. they are not the only ones. this is like a repeat of richard nixon for heaven sakes. not a good idea. what do you think? that is what she is going to come up with? that is her whole thing. >> i remember i was 12 years old and i remember richard nixon giving a speech. nobody can raise their prices for nine or six months. it was eddie a policy. it did not work. you have to be an egg neuron --

hunter biden just kind of got busted for lobbying the u.s. government for burisma deal in italy while his dad was vice president. joining us now is greg gerrit, fox news legal analyst. they wanted information from the state department and the justice department about burisma and hunter biden. they held back. the request was held back until joe biden dropped out of the presidential race or was dropped out, however you want to put it. hunter lobbied the state department, he lobbied the commerce department to help marie's mode with the geothermal

energy deal in tuscany, italy. just coincidentally this information comes out now after mr. biden, president biden dropped out of their base -- out of the race. >> joe biden state department, greg jarret at the helm. they knew for years about the peddling schemes. it is not just italy and burisma and ukraine, give china, romania , russia, kazakhstan, the list goes on and on. how hunter was selling to foreign adversaries. the evidence, larry, suggests that his dad was involved. complicit, aiding and abetting schemes. vetting the family tens of millions. the state department worked to hide the incriminating files and cover up the suspected crimes. first they said, oh, geewhiz, we

don't have any documents. maybe we do. but even then, the state department refused to cough up the smoking gun documents until joe biden quit the race and states, well, that is just a coincidence that is laughable. it runs the. they stonewalled to protect him politically and illegally. >> it was a freedom of information act. state department withheld it. they had to withhold it if the justice did. the point is that is what you just said. none of this was released. none of it was released to thetd out of the race. the other part of this, hunter biden lobbied the state department. he also lobbied the commerce
