it will be a pretaped joint interview. we know they just wrapped it. we may in this hour get a clip from the interview. it is with her vp nominee governor tim walz, many americans asking the same question, why can't she handle questions from cnn without tim walz by her side? president trump is campaigning in michigan holding a town hall with tulsi gabbard in wisconsin tonight, joining me to talk about this katie pavlich, and fox news contributor, and byron york, chief political correspondent for washington examiner and also a fox news contributor, honored to have you both. we may have the clips come in, they will tell me in ear it ready we'll cover it live. if we get them. and your reaction. but katie, why does kamala harris need a male

chaperone? >> well, we may cover the clips, but the interview is not live that says a lot about the candidate's capability to do a live interview, i wish cnn would release the interview in its interty, not leave things on cutting room floor. in terms of her showing up to the first interview, i am sure she will get credit for finally doing it, with her vice presidential candidate, a lot argument it is customary to be with nominee. but that is not the case if the nominee, at top of the ticket has not given any other interviews throughout the course of them being in charge of the democratic ticket. i don't know why she wants to have vice president candidate tim walz to be there with her, i would think as woman who wants to be first female president of

u.s., she would want to go out as an independent nominee. and plant her flag in ground and ask americans for their vote. take leadership of the ticket. but she is bringing her vice presidential candidate. david: about time we figure out that americans can see for themselves that she can handle the job on her own, the president of united states is not commander in chief incidentally, the fact that president is commander in chief, he or she has to make the decisions on the flying themselves, if you can't do an interview on the flying you can't handle an international crises on the fly. >> i know, waiting so long to have an interview, kind of makes first interview like super bowl. everyone is watching every bit. which makes me think we'll be dis disappointed in what it does not cover. the way that harris has done this not doing any

interviews, at all. all of her time as a candidate, has set up a strange dynamic with tim walz. which is, we don't really know right now what kamala harris' publicly stated positions are on number of serious issues are, like immigration, health care taxes, that stuff. tim walz does not really either, he could not come out and do interviews, as long as presidential candidate has not established their position. so, it is almost like they had to come together to find out what they think. david: katie, one of those, a bunch of them. dealing with all different subjects but, this position change on border wall, is fascinating in 2017, kamala harris had a tweet and i'll read it trump's border wall is just a stupid use of money. i will block any funding for it. that was in 2017. she -- we have a bunch of sound bites regarding border

best fair, and most people think it is bad right now. how does she back away from bidenomics? >> you know, she did something a couple weeks ago that republicans could not believe their good luck, that is, she came out, gave a speech on economic issues and talked and specific terms about how expensive everything is and how it has gotten, that allowed the trump campaign to put together clips of that speech, with what you played which is her bidenomics is working line, her solution is very unclear at-this-point. before that speech, there was a lot of talk she was embracing price controls then after that speech, her staff anonymously again that is how they operate, talked about no, that is not what she was talking about, she was talking about antigouging pl l le-- ledge

con legislation, that would not apply to the local economy. david: although, byron, i have to say, gene sperling came on with neil cavuto thursday after her team said she did not mean price control, she was full bore, he was behinds whole price do you thi gouging, he said we have information about certain companies, you mentioned trump, we have a fing hthing happening with trump campaign, the campaign of inclusion. the word that democrats thought they owned 100%, you think of rfk jr., and tulsi gabbard, and janns jangs jd vance spoke about it yesterday, i believe in wisconsin. >> are we thrilled to have

endorsement of rfk jr. and tulsi gabbard. we are, it is funny as much as media, says that trump is the canada candidate of division, we from nikki haley and brian kemp and rfk jr. and tulsi gabbard, we're thrilled to have support. david: the party of unity has become trump. >> yeah, you know, left and media tried to paint trump as far right figure, when really, throughout his career, he was more of a democrat, and became a moderate and ran as a republican. you can argue he may be first independent president who ran and won in 2016, he was running on republican ticket, you look at reasons why the endorsements come in it is interesting to see that through the theme of why they are all coming to the right side of the political veh spectrum whether a fair fight in

election, rfk jr. and his vice presidential candidate, nicole shanahan talk about lawfare that democrats thrown at them, tens of millions to keep them off ballots that is not democratic, and president trump faced a lot of that lawfare as well. and you have republicans who come to his endorsement because, they don't believe that kamala harris is going to be a president who will bring a country together. david: forgive my for jumping in we do have -- we don't have a clip but a verbate . byron trust my reading. i think, i'm quoting kamala harris i think most important important andnitio significant aspect of my policy aspect

the rule of law in the justice department if they are allowing this. david: turning to the economy. sometimes easier to deal with numbers, you don't know the truth. the gdp came in second read of second quarter, came in up more than expected, 3% growth of the gdp after that 800 thousand, it was expected to be 2. 8%, remember those jobs revisions, and revision down by 818 thousand, do you believe these numbers about how strong the economy is? >> no, i don't believe the gdp number at all, i think my particulars is, i don't know -- expectation is, i don't know if they spoke to this, this did not account for big revision to jobs number there no way it would notified through to the gdp, what happens in a economy

you have inputs and output, if we have way fewer inputs, then, unless there was a miracle of productivity like everyone ate popeye's spin air, there is no way. my expectation is, end up revising numbers perhaps after the election, right now on gdp side numbers look strong, we'll find out ut truth, they are befuddling numbers the jac jobs report. the jobs numbers saying we're in a recession, if jobs numbers come in weak, we'll know they will revise the gdp numbers. david: you mentioned miracle, i can't get over that image, could miracle of output be government spending in terms of buying jobs, god knows whether they

are adding anything to the economy if they are government jobs is that the miracle quote, unquote that made explain the number? >> no, the numbers are too befuddling for that, one way to look at it i hate is a say these words, the statistical discrepancy. the case you add up how much income every has and how much output, they are supposed to the same, and gap right now is biggest i have seen, i think output numbersen to make sense for he given labor market stuff, what will happen is output numbers will revise down a lots in future, but if we get a strong jobs report, then that means that actually it is stronger than kevin thought. david: let's get political, and put aside your suspicions that you wrong

sometimes they blink. and barack obama did twice, they extended the evil bush tax cuts twice, there is a base that wants to seize everyone's wealth, they doing that with 65 percent estate tax proposal for example, you have to realize gains before you pay, that they are getting base riled up, at same time, their economists say, don't worry, we're not going to do that, but for me, that bottom line is, we should not let them get away with it until kamala harris tells us what her policies are, they are throwing out 10 policies and 9 are ridiculed by their own supporters, and they say we didn't mean that but we'll do the other one, they are murder boarding and testing things with media without committing to policies, i think we should stop playing that game. tell us what you will do, and we'll have a look at it,

the same lady who said that biden was at the top of his game just a few weeks ago. david: your reaction, pennsylvania is a key state that she is trying to get, to win in election, they rely on fracking, the people overwhelmingly favor fracking in pennsylvania. is that why she is prevaricating on this? >> absolutely, all that voters need to do is look at position she stated over course of her political career, and policies of this administration, she is an part of. that is reality of who she is, she would destroy
