gop presidential primary debate is now in the books. the five candidates talked about banning tik tok, killing cartel members and how they would respond to the abortion debate. the presidential hopefuls spent plenty of time attacking each other and they also attacked the former president who happens to be the current gop front runner. fox coverage, political anchor bret baier will give us his top three moments but we begin with aishah hasnie in miami where nobody was pulling any punches. issue a, good evening. >> reporter: trace, good evening to you. we were warned and told ahead of time that the knives were going to come outen boy did they come out. knives especially held by vivek ramaswamy tonight as he attacked nikki haley over and over again, even getting personal at one point going after her daughter over her daughter's tik tok use. here are some of the most tense
8:02 pm
moments of the night. >> do you want a leader from a different generation who's going to put this country first or do you want dick cheyney in three-inch heels. >> i wear heels they're not for a fashion snowbelt they're for ammunition. >> ambassador haley said i wasn't doing -- she welcomed them into south carolina, gave them land near a military base, wrote the chinese ambassador a love letter saying what a great friend they were. >> i negotiate wind china and russia the largest set of sanctions against north korea in a generation. that is literally the reason north korea stopped testing ballistic missiles. >> don't lie to people what you said or what you've done in south carolina. >> my entire career is united nations. every day i fought china but on the energy side it cracks me up that ron continues to do this. he has opposed fracking, he's opposed drilling. last time he said it wasn't true and everybody found out that it was true. >> reporter: so, trace, i asked ramaswamy here in the spin room right after why he was going
8:03 pm
after haley so hard. his answer was because he's afraid she's going to start world war three. now, trace, the entire first hour of the debate was spent on foreign policy starting with the israel war with hamas, what to do about iran, what to do about china and only in the final 20 minutes of this debate did the candidates finally have a chance to tackle abortion which, of course, is that perplexing issue for republicans. >> you've got to work from the bottom up. you've got to do a better job on these referenda. all the stuff that has happened to the pro-life cause they have been caught flatfoot order the referenda. >> we need a 15-week federal limit, three out of four americans agree with the 15-week limit. 47 out of 50 countries in europe agree with a 15-week limit. >> the republicans did not have an alternative amendment or vision on the table. i know i was born raised and lived there, it's representative
8:04 pm
of the country. >> reporter: now the only candidate not on the stage tonight, the front runner, of course, former president donald trump was holding a counter programming rally just about 30 miles away, and it's really begging the question as those polls continue to show that he is still leading and beating the current president, begs the question, trace, how long do these candidates stick it out and stay in this race despite those polls. i asked ramaswamy about that. he simply said i don't disagree with the former president's policies, i just have younger legs. trace. >> trace: we're doing to talk about that later, aishah hasnie live for us in miami. expert debate analysis from the chief political anchor and host of special report bret baier. bret great to have you on the show as always. issue a was talking about the knives being out. was it mainly nikki haley and vivek ramaswamy or was this across the board in your opinion? >> reporter: there was some across the board. ron desantis and nikki haley,
8:05 pm
there was some back and forth. the structure of the debate, they didn't go back to someone who was mentioned many times. they kind of went formula. it was a different feel, fewer candidates on the stage so there weren't as many explosive moments and sometimes that's a good thing. but there were explosive moments. one i should mention at the beginning was talking about tik tok and whether they should ban it or notment ramaswamy reflecting back on when nikki haley said that ramaswamy was on tik tok making fun of that. here's his answer. >> well, i want to laugh at why nikki haley didn't answer your question which is about looking at families in the eye. in the last debate she made fun of me for joining tik tok while her own daughter was using the app for a long time so you might want to take care of your family first. >> leave my family out of your voice. >> the next generation is using it. that's actually the point.
8:06 pm
you have her supporters prepping her up. >> you're just scum. >> reporter: that end part was you're scum. you don't really hear that in debates that often, and you can hear kind of threw the screen the visceral back and forth between candidates. >> trace: you seldom hear that said at a debate. what about chris christie and his take on who should and should not get social security benefits. >> reporter: chris christie it seems like has taken over the role of former vice-president mike pence no longer in this race, dropped out, but talking about social security, medicare entitlements in a way that maybe candidates have not talked about on either party for some time. and there is a void there because it is something you have to turn the aircraft carrier eventually to make it all add up. here's chris christie. >> i've never fortunately in my life ever had me or my family on food stamps but i'm glad it's there so no one in country goes
8:07 pm
to bed hungry if they have availability to that program but i don't get a direct benefit. the fact is on social security remember why it was established. it was established as a safety net program to make sure that no one would grow old in this country in poverty. that's what we've got to. rich people should not be collecting social security. >> governor could you give mow a specific age? 69, 70, what would the age be. >> that would be a negotiation with congress, kerr step. >> didn't answer neither did other candidates about age and that's an interesting debate going forward. >> as we found out last night abortion appears to still be a liability for republicans. how did the candidates handle that? >> reporter: look what happened in ohio, it. >> greg: the state constitution amended with the protections for abortion. look what happened in virginia request governor glenn youngkin and how republicans talk about abortion is really going to be interesting because it's a huge issue for democrats. nikki haley has, it seems, found
8:08 pm
a sweet spot here in talking about this in a way that is trying to lift women up and get to consensus. here's what she said. >> so let's find consensus. let's agree on how we can ban late term abortions. let's make sure we encourage adoptions and good quality adoptions. let's make sure we make couldn't exception accessible. let's make sure none of these put a woman in jail or give her the death penalty for getting an abortion. let's save as many babies as we can and support as many moms as we can and stop the judgment. we don't need to divide america over this issue anymore. >> reporter: i think there are a lot of republicans that look at that answer and say that's where republicans should be going forward, see what it takes. i want to point out we managed to get ahold of the rnc chair woman ronna mcdaniel. vivek ramaswamy said she should resign because of what's happened last night and what's happened before. shear here's her answer to
8:09 pm
ramaswamy. >> reporter: everybody has to get headlines right? i'm going to focus on beating joe biden. i am very proud of the rnc and our staff and the work we've done to win back the house. remember, i am the person who was chair of michigan who flipped that state for the first time in 30 years and am going to continue working hard to beating democrats, and i'm not going to check other republicans. that's a fact. >> reporter: she's not stepping down. one more fun thing and we haven't seen this before. tim scott's girlfriend, mindy, was on the stage at the end of the debate. we got to see her for the first time. the reporters asked, is this the girlfriend? he said yes and they've been dating for about a year. so that mystery is over, and he took her up on stage, took a couple pictures, and there is mindy, tim scott's girlfriend. there you go. it's not people magazine. thought we would wrap it up there. >> trace: close enough for late night television bret, thank you so much for your analysis and for the breakout of mindy. we appreciate that bret, thanks

hours of witnesses. and they don't have anything. >> reporter: and raskin' not alone on his sentiment. attorney abby lowell writing in a statement hunter is eager to have the opportunity in a public forum and at the right time to discuss these matters with the committee. meanwhile, the biden camp is also said to be asking the new house speaker mike johnson to put an end to the litany of investigations to which he said they'll do no such thing. quote, president biden and the white house have repeatedly lied to the american people about his involvement and knowledge of the biden family business dealings, receiving millions through their shell companies from foreign adversaries. we have learned this because of the diligent work of house investigators who will continue to follow the facts where they may lead. one subpoena does call for the president's son to appear at a deposition on december 13th. mark your calendars trace. >> trace: one thing is certain the white house story keeps changing. >> reporter: yes indeed. >> trace: kevin corke live in dc

8:13 pm
individual accounts and then ended up, 10% of it, in joe biden's checking account. >> trace: right. >> that's what you now have to confront the witnesses with and say, under oath are you really going to say that's just paying back a personal loan? under oath did you really earn this money? did you really perform a service for this? or were you really influence peddling? were you really promising to try to influence the united states government and gather information in exchange for that money? there's a big difference between sending people out into the press and making the claim that you were just making money normally and there's nothing to hide here and then saying it under oath under threat of perjury or obstruction of justice before congress. >> trace: yeah, especially when there is very little evidence, in fact no evidence that we have seen of this loan process. hunter biden's attorney, kevin touched on this, abby lowell said this is nothing more than a political stunt but also said quoting, nevertheless, hunter is eager to have the opportunity in a public forum and at the right time to discuss these matters with the committee.
8:14 pm
man, i would-leslie i would love to see hunter biden jump on the stand and explain his end of this. >> well, apparently he will be. >> trace: i love it. >> i don't think most of us democrats, unlike republicans, ignore subpoenas. even though they're not criminal in nature, it's an investigation from congress, which is, whether people like it or not, because it's not criminal, it is a political investigation. and here are the two things i want to point out. one is, they are going to -- they are definitely going to impeach joe biden. they don't have a reason to impeach joe biden and they're trying to find one but i don't think they will. after yesterday's elections with the exception of one seat in new hampshire democrats did very well in the election yesterday and this is not what the american people want, their tax dollars and time spent on, and that's republicans as well. so i want to thank the republicans for having all these investigations because it's going to help my party in the next election.
