a word even though patrick mahomes could have given the flu to everybody. he actually had it. dana, that's actually how we treated illnesses in sports for my whole life. michael jordan is even more famous than he otherwise would be because of the so-called jordan flu game. we expect athletes, when they are not playing 100%, to step it up and put it on the line in big games even if they are ill, even if they are throwing up and even if they have the flu. that's been the expectation for a long time. i think what djokovic did was stick to the long-term expectations which are athletes know their bodies better than anybody. if they want to play, then they should be able to play. it wasn't just joe -- there were athletes in different sports. when novak won. what immediately happened when

speech. in that piece she explains why. do you get a sense this is a turning point on college campuses? >> i love that we are having the free speech conversation. i wanted to have it for a while, even having speakers who on campus might be -- have some what's called reservations towards jews. there is a clear difference between free speech and calls to violence, supporting terrorism, breaking policies. i think -- i do want to make it clear the distinction between the two. there is one penn club who has a history of vandalism. at their last rally they could see them holding a designated terrorist group's flag and they are currently sleeping in the student center and inviting outside members of the community. go to their instagram and see
7:11 am
comments people based out of ohio want to fly in to enter our student center. this is not free speech. the building closes at 12:00. you can't sleep there. and so i think people are all of a sudden acting like they are free speech warriors when they don't understand you can't break the rules and then just cite free speech as your excuse for why you shouldn't get in trouble. that's just ridiculous. >> dana: you filed a lawsuit this is before the resignation. does that lawsuit continue now? what do you hope to accomplish? >> just like the examples i stated, there is still a lot of work to be done. you install professors who have classes that are focusing on convicted terrorists and portraying them as -- i mentioned yesterday on fox that there is a professor at penn who compared protestants to al qaeda and said the u.s. and the rest
7:12 am
of the west should learn from al qaeda on their human rights, to learn the u.s. and al qaeda about human rights. this is scary stuff if this is what's being taught in the classroom and this is what students are learning, then it is no wonder the mess that you have on campus. because these are the students that they're educating and raising through the years and it is scary. no one should support terrorism. it is crazy this is even a conversation that we need to have in the u.s. after just how many brave men and women have sacrificed their lives so i can go to school and feel safe and yet now the problem for some reason is internal. the "new york post" article said cited a non-jewish student saying that penn, quote, has a serious problem with terrorism. >> bill: well, it's all been exposed now. thank you for coming back. >> dana: great to see you. have a good week. >> thank you so much.

burisma and which might have ensnared his father, who of course was the vice president at the time and was point man for the obama administration is ukraine, those have just magically disappeared because david weiss and his team in delaware allowed when statute of limitations to expire. so there were just so many ways that the deck was stacked for joe biden and it looks nakedly like an attempt to protect the vice president, the future candidate for president, now president. and so i find it just ironic when the likes of the "new york times" say oh well, look, hunter biden might have been late on his taxes, minimizing the fraud, and -- but it has absolutely nothing to do with joe biden. i mean, it has everything to do with joe biden as some of your clips have just shown. hunter would never have earned any of that money if his father

had not been vice president and these favors were being sought by corrupt countries and adversarial countries. >> bill: in all your reporting do you know who was tipping off the biden family? >> well look, numerous people. there is supposedly an f.b.i. mole that tipped off hunter biden to these four sealed indictments in the southern district of new york that named his chinese partners. within the delaware u.s. attorneys office there was a prosecutor who is now been taken off the case, leslie wolf seemed to be the one tipping of hunter biden's lawyers that there was a search warrant coming up of the storage unit of his. somebody in the f.b.i. tipped off the biden transition campaign in december of 2020 that there was an i.r.s. agent and f.b.i. agent in california who were going the next morning

>> bill: i want to take you to capitol hill now. we've been watching this during the commercial break. protestors that are calling for

a cease-fire in the middle east. keep in mind now between the white house and the senate and the house, they are in negotiations right now to figure out what the u.s. government will give israel. what we will give ukraine. and what will republicans get for border security in the american southwest? so all that within the context of what you are watching now. >> dana: aishah hosni with us. is this in the visitor center? >> the hart building, the senate building next to the building i'm in now, the russell building. these are three senate buildings and hart has a ton of senators who cel offices there. it is happening in the atrium. there is a giant sculpture where you see the sign that these protestors have hung from that sculpture.
7:32 am
fascinating here is that somehow some of these protestors have climbed up the sculpture and are on top of this sculpture that you see. it's very tall there. and i'm being told by one of the senate aids that alerted me to this also in the hart building sending me some of these videos, that several of these protestors have now been arrested. some of them have been carried out by capitol police because they were refusing to be escorted out of this building by them. another one being arrested on her feet. some of them i've seen in videos have been carried out almost like children you could say. but you can hear it right there and i'm being told it is extremely loud, which is, of course, a problem for all those senate offices that are just surrounding this atrium. this is happening as negotiations are ongoing on this global aid package for not only
7:33 am
israel, but also ukraine and republicans trying to get some sort of border reforms in place as well. i will tell you about that as we watch the scenes unfold here. i am told that lead democrat negotiator chris murphy says the white house will get more engaged in these talks and we will see some of that intensify this week. now you see right there what i am talking about having to carry these people out, guys, because they are refusing to walk and be escorted out with capitol police. they have to do that one-by-one. it looks like they are laying down and we have seen protests in previous protests in the capitol. they are pretending as if they are dead to obviously solidarity of the thousands of palestinian people that have been killed. they are wanting a cease-fire from several different senators and house members, but we've seen as you played that clip
7:34 am
earlier senator bernie sanders as well a progressive saying no to a cease-fire -- saying that israel has the right to defend itself, rather. this is just one of another number of protests we've seen on capitol hill. people creating chaos here on capitol grounds. >> dana: they feel like they are doing a lot but actually persuading no one. >> bill: dhs officials telling lawmakers they are releasing an average of 5,000 migrants into the country every day. texas governor greg abbott is here to talk about this and more. as we look at the numbers talking to griff jenkins last hour at eagle pass and bill melugin in lukeville, arizona every day last week. 5,000 into the country. that reaches into about 1.8 million illegal entrants in that time frame. so let me ask you this, governor. if you could negotiate
7:35 am
successfully with the white house and democrats in congress, what would you get to slow this down? or to stop it? >> sure. well, two things real quick. one is remember, president of the united states and administration have proven they can secure the border. it was just four years ago we had the lowest number of illegal border crossings in 40 years. that's because president trump put in place four policies. remain in mexico, title 42, end of catch and release and building a border wall. when biden came in, he eliminated all of those four policies. that said, republicans right now in congress are negotiating with the biden administration with policies that would provide extraordinary relief if not eliminate all of the illegal border crossings. they must hold fast and negotiate with the biden administration to achieve two things. one, to prohibit any asylum
7:36 am
offered to anybody that crosses between the ports of entry. second thing is they also must eliminate any asylum for anybody who does not seek asylum from the country from which they have left or from the first safe country they arrive in. those two policies would dramatically reduce any illegal immigration into the united states and would stop all of the visuals you are seeing on tv about the way people are crossing into our country illegally. >> bill: you are coming into an election year. i want to see if i can tie a few things together and get you to respond to this. president biden last week said he is open to significant compromises. secretary mayorkas over the weekend said that some of the proposals from republicans are reasonable and worthy of discussion. others he said are frankly not. however, you had all republicans in the senate stick together last week. do you -- and you know how much
7:37 am
this administration wants to help the war in ukraine and in israel for that matter. do you think finally you have reached a point where republicans, including yourself, can exact some change out of washington? >> so absolutely republicans can exact some change and the republicans in both the house and senate must hold fast right here and not give in. they must stand not just for more border funding. most of the border funding the biden administration is talking about does nothing more than provide more of a magnet to people to come here illegally. when need policy changes. policy changes that will stop people from crossing the border illegally into the united states. and i think the republicans hold the power position right now. they better not relent it. they better hold fast and make sure they do not let up until the biden administration finally puts into place policies that will stop illegal immigration into our country.
7:38 am

they have been taken out one-by-one protesting the war in gaza. and you see the banner come up and each one individually is taken away with the zip ties and the hand of the officer you see with the white zip ties there. the live look, there is this big statue called mountains and clouds, a sculpture. i have to think it's at least 30 feet high. there is still one individual who is tucked away inside that sculpture. you see him with a helmet on. he is the remaining hold-out, it appears. stand by. there could be more. that was going on capitol hill as we speak here. dana. >> dana: just about one month until the iowa caucus. new polling shows trump running away with the lead surpassed 50% amongst republican caucus goers and ron desantis getting ahead of nikki haley. marc thiessen and marie harf. the iowa poll came out.
7:46 am
get you to react. 73% of iowa voters believe trump can win against biden. that's up from 65%. strange in a way, it seems to be what at least until recently democrats were focused on saying he will never be able to win and get support from republicans because of the lawsuits. apparently 73% of iowa voters said that's not true. >> that's exactly right. look, we're now on day 1053 of the biden presidency. if you look at the average. joe biden is the least popular president in the history of this country going back to the world war ii not named jimmy carter. it's also true before the 2022 mid-terms joe biden was the least popular president since world war ii and turned in the best mid-term performance of any president except for bush going
7:47 am
back to john f. kennedy in the six 0s. voters didn't like the alternative the republicans presented. so if we present them with an all turn -- they will have a choice between two candidates they dislikes for different reasons. they don't want a trump-biden rematch. if that's what they end up one party won't like the result. it could be the republicans. >> dana: or it might be the democrats. look at this from the "wall street journal" head-to-head. trump at 47%, biden 43%. dissatisfaction with biden call for number three year, 53% of the voters polled said they have been hurt by his policies, 61 disapprove of the job performance. do you think the white house or the campaign is figuring out a way to turn it around? they don't have a lot of time. >> well, there is a lot of time

left before the general election in the political calendar. polls this far out are concerning bust not predictive. the hope the biden campaign doesn't dismiss them and makes clear they need to make a better case to the american people why joe biden should get a second term. but my friend marc is right here. elections are choices, they are choices between two people. what is so interesting in some of those iowa polls, dana, is that there are a lot of republicans who actually don't want to vote for donald trump. they are just split among three, four or five candidates. we saw it in 2016 as well. if this election will come down to what, five states maybe a couple thousand voters in each of them, those are the kind of voters, independent swing voters who don't like donald trump who in 2020 and 2022 elected democrats because they did not like donald trump and his policies and how does that change if he is convicted of a crime between now and election
7:49 am
day? so look, i think democrats have to make their case. but if it's trump versus biden, i think democrats feel better about that match-up than some of the others. >> dana: give marc one last chance. she talked about electability against biden. nikki haley topped biden by 17 points, 51-34, right? that's compared to trump's 4-point lead and i know she will try to make her case. she might not be able to get there in the end but giving it a shot if president trump is that the far ahead. last word to you. >> i mean, i can ask marie who would you rather run against? trump than against nikki haley. what's interesting about the polls. if you look at them, if one party takes either trump or biden off the ballot, that party crushes the other party. so if you look at the "new york times" poll of the swing states, if you take biden off the ballot, he crushes -- the generic democrat crushes donald trump in all the swing states by
7:50 am
