>> letitia james is a politician. when donald trump blames the biden administration for his prosecutions he is not wrong. president biden isn't just the commander me chief of the military. he is the commander-in-chief including the d.o.j. it is within his control and discretion to pardon his political opponent to create a feeling that there is fairness in the political process. he has no interest in doing that. so you can really understand donald trump's ire when he knows that president biden really is able and capable of controlling this. >> julie: hunter biden, by the way, speaking of another candidate and his problems, his son, our president's son, pleading not guilty to all nine tax-related charges yesterday in his first appearance in los angeles federal court. accused of a year's long scheme to skip out on more than a million dollars in taxes and in delaware charged with lying about past drug use on a firearm

"new york post" columnist miranda devine pointed out that a film crew was with hunter and reportedly working on a documentary about him. that man making that documentary, kevin morris, was with hunter on capitol hill this week. >> it was made for this movie. i'm not sure that it is a very clever move other than seizing the moment and making hunter look like this sort of anti-hero of his own imagination. how that helps joe biden in his re-election campaign is a mystery. >> julie: it is. miranda devine pointing out if any one of us had rejected a subpoena and walked away as if no big deal, the cops would be

on us. somehow it is no coincidence this is the president's son and got away with it. he should be held in contempt, shouldn't he? >> he is facing a lot of trouble not just for the contempt in congress but the tax charges are really bad. the evidence seems to be really strong against him. we are going to start to see over the next few weeks what evidence david weiss intends to use against hunter biden in trial. we see the indictment against him. it mentions burisma and the chinese holding company. so i think david weiss is going to be all hands on deck. he will go after him. i think he has a very strong chance at a conviction there. i don't see a way out for him and we have the contempt proceedings. maybe hunter biden thinks his father will pardon him in the end and flitting the law in the way he is. >> julie: hunter's lawyer. he needs to comply with the law. hunter's lawyer is saying new
