how you live the rest of your life. happened to me a couple years ago. i cracked open "the miracle morning." every morning is now a miracle. this book will instruct you on how to develop a morning routine that was that your day in motion and then set your whole life and motion so you become unstoppable, like me. let's bring in hal elrod, the author of "the miracle morning." this is my miracle morning. 5:45 a.m., wake up. first thing, guzzle water. second thing, go get some light on my face. maybe stretch, walk, run, cold shower, write, read, then it's 8:00 and i've already beaten everybody to the punch, right? >> that's it, jesse. you are a living miracle, buddy. >> jesse: what is waking up so early in the morning and getting everything done the key to success? >> i'll say this, waking up so early is not the important part. it's how you start your day. the reason it is so important,
5:48 pm
how you start your day sets the tone and the direction and it sets your mindset for the rest of the day. if you win the morning the way that you do, you set yourself up to win the day. if you wake up at 5:45 a.m. or 30 minutes earlier, it's those first few minutes of the day that set the rest of the day and motion. >> jesse: what are the keys in the morning when everybody else is -- [snoring] and you are out there hustling -- what are the things we should be doing before everybody else is up? >> i think the most important thing is to optimize your mental and emotional state. if i had to pick one, that would be it. to me, the miracle morning enables you to start every day at a peak mental, emotional, also physical and even spiritual state so you can show up at your best for the people you love, and the people that you lead, and that begins with how you show up for yourselves. >> jesse: does this even count on saturdays and sundays? >> that's a great question. i get that a lot. most miracle morning practitioners, there's millions around the world, they start with five days a week. that was made because we've been

conditioned by society to think you take saturday and sunday off. then they realized -- and you can attest to this. when you do the miracle morning, you are better, you feel better, you have a better day. if you wake up late on saturday, wait a minute, what if i did a miracle money on saturday? than you do and you go, oh, my weekend is better. most start with five days a week and then go to six and some go to seven. >> jesse: even when you drink that before you can still wake up early and get your things done, right? >> [laughs] that sounds like a personal issue. >> jesse: [laughs] well, i love the book, "the miracle morning." i suggested for everybody. i'm going to put that down. go buy my book. preorder it.
