"big weekend show" the big story tonight, the final countdown from the iowa caucuses and iowa is in the middle of a deep-freeze but the battle to win over hawkeye state voters is red-hot. fox news power rankings has former president trump is a clear frontrunner. ron desantis and he haley jockeying for second-place. vivek ramaswamy still hanging in foxbusiness correspondent grady trumbull picks up team coverage from iowa and des moines. trump is attacking vivek ramaswamy. >> he hasn't spent much time focusing on vivek ramaswamy but today he is perhaps indicating vivek ramaswamy caucus goers will eat away from supporters who might go for him and this is for the former president posted today, he says a vote for vivek ramaswamy is a vote for the other side.
9:02 pm
don't get duped by this, vote for trump, don't waste your vote. all of the polling does suggest former president trump is in the driver seat in this race but weather has been upending plans and the other candidate plan, or campaign events scheduled this weekend, only one of them is still taking place and the other three canceled. he's holding a virtual town hall or virtual event in about 30 minutes time. a look inside president trump campaign hq in iowa, volunteers you can see them looking bones trying to reach as many islands as possible in a pino we can push. he posted a video message on truth social telling voters to show up for him, no matter the weather. >> one way or another i'm getting there, if you have the worst weather in recorded history but maybe that's good because our people are more committed than anybody else or maybe it's a good thing for us.
9:03 pm
>> florida governor ron desantit trump today for not being here in iowa while the other top gop candidates are crisscrossing the street and state trying to reach as many caucus goers as possible and speaking of government desantis, i'm going to send it over to bill melugin who's covering all things desantis. >> i am bill melugin and west des moines, multiple campaign events in iowa today despite freezing temperatures, supporters can do think the state all day long and that includes desantis his own mom, she came from florida knocking on doors in 2 degrees weather. here's a little of what the floor governor said a short time ago. >> people realized this country needs leadership and we can't just rerun the 2020 election so here's the thing. you will never have an opportunity to participate and vote in a way that will pack as much punch monday night.
9:04 pm
>> government desantis says he's planning to count on his game on monday night. he's visited all 99 counties in the state of iowa, he's got endorsement of the popular republican governor in iowa and super pack never back down says they've knocked on 943,000 doors in iowa. supporters say he's the right man at the right time. >> the country is divided and we need less divisions, somehow in florida hopefully we can do the same think nationally. >> tonight that o'clock eastern for multiple everyone is waiting for will be released, des moines register poll is been going since 1943, the last they want before caucus night and it will show if donald trump is still firm on his usually or if other candidates are starting to make up ground. >> thank you from des moines. let's look at the pole we have, the biggest we have right now is the subject's university pole. here are the numbers, former president trump 54% mike nikki

haley drunk number 222%, desantis at 13, 6% for vivek ramaswamy. these numbers, a new poll in eastern time but is this a one-man race? >> the only person who's had consistency for.has been president donald trump and nikki haley and ron desantis for second-place, a hard time gaining momentum especially in the last weeks and days leading up to iowa but bottom line is pulling is a snapshot in time and historically polling has been difficult for iowa caucus, less accurate when it comes to caucusing been new hampshire primary for example so previous polling has not been the ones who have come out on top on caucus night so we will see if the numbers add up when the votes come in. one thing on the turnout, clearly every campaign is working hard not taking anything for granted when it comes to getting everyone up. caucuses are about convincing
9:06 pm
friends and family who the best person in the race is an deserves their boat and we will see a lot of that monday night but people are talking about that now as you saw at the fox news town halls, the number of candidates, people coming and saint i was thinking of voting for desantis and went back and forth voting for trump and voted for trump last time and now nikki haley so people in iowa are changing their minds and it's exciting even at this is the kickoff to the delegate race in addition. >> it is and ron desantis has gone to every county and iowa, he's been all over the state multiple times. he had a very interesting exchange, one of his offense was somebody that kind of call him out for but a lot of people are thinking about recent poll numbers, watch this. >> thank you everyone from a government desantis i will present this participation trophy. [laughter] and probably not going to win the election but we are proud of you will.

9:08 pm
the fact that he has moved his numbers by a significant amount over the last four or five months, i think it says a lot about the electorate and a lot about him and his campaign but also the fact that he's going after vivek ramaswamy here in the last hours of the caucuses, it tells us he is taking this very seriously. it doesn't matter to him he's beating vivek ramaswamy by tenfold, he's taking nothing for granted and he understands a some time when you look at the non- trump candidates, nikki haley, ron desantis and vivek ramaswamy, vivek ramaswamy is the only one who ran as the real outsider, the one who wanted to topple the king. everybody else played it safe. >> with a business background to boot. >> like he had nothing to lose
