were complimenting one another, vivek endorsed donald trump. >> steve: so weird that trump had thrown vivek under the bus a day earlier. >> ainsley: that's what he does. >> brian: not personal. >> ainsley: nothing personal in these campaigns. >> steve: nothing personal. a poll out from the american research group and they looked at primary voters. and, in this poll of likely republican primary voters in the great state of new hampshire donald trump and nikki haley are both tied at 40%. what's curious about this is it's only republican primary voters. it doesn't take into effect the democrats and independents who would vote as well. this is pretty much more like a general election. if she could beat trump in a substantial way the donor money is going to open up and they are going to go all in on her.

>> lawrence: when you really dive into the poll and demographics of new hampshire, there are a lot of republicans that are very moderate independent voters but they cavalier themselves as republicans. >> lawrence: because they are. >> lawrence: political insider also tell you listen these aren't your typical primary voters that you are going to get in south carolina or texas or florida. some of those big super tuesday states. so the criticism is, especially after you go in the hills of iowa when you had a lot of democrats and independents that switched their party affiliation on the day of to support nikki haley, is this a will strategy because it won't work in super tuesday states. >> ainsley: can trump switched the role with vivek. honor to have you with us. working with us a long timement possible vp or cabinet position. many are saying they wants nikki haley to be his vice president if she doesn't get the nomination because she could pull in some more moderates and

together great team. >> brian: kind of interesting. i don't see that ever happening. there's no way. >> ainsley: based on what his son said? >> brian: some people on the right don't want to see nikki haley run even though she is a conservative on the trump side. donald trump hasn't shut the door. but there has been $22 million in advertising so far spent there, 340,000 independent registered voters that nikki haley wants to win over. and if you watched her concession speech, which the president thought was the wrong tone, after she lost in iowa, she went right after the president and said we got to get rid of these 80-year-old guys that, was personal where, believe it or not, donald trump was the one after his victory speech saying hey, let's come together, desantis and nikki haley seemed to have a good time together. that was the best line ever. listen, let's come together and fight together. i thought she had the wrong tactic at the end. >> ainsley: democratic party is putting their backing behind her. donald trump saying the democrats support her.

>> lawrence: openly said democratic fundraisers given money to her campaign because they say that she'll be the easier candidate to beat. >> brian: the polls say a different story. >> lawrence: she has to be cautious. in her speech she got third place and she said it's a two person race. i don't understand how you say it's a two person race and bypass ron desantis when he got more votes than new iowa. >> ainsley: she is doing better in new hampshire. are. >> steve: cited those polls in the general election nikki haley would actually do better against joe biden than donald trump would. to that point, actually there are democrats who think that nikki haley would be the harder candidate to beat and we're going to play a soundbite for you by dean phillips, he, of course, is the democrat from minnesota, also running for president of the united states. >> democrat always voted for biden he said. >> right, sea regular democrat. and is he running because he

research that helped educate the virus to become more transmissible human-to-human. not pathogenic. the work you talk about today is work that they're doing that actually is changing the pathogen miss city of these viruses. i think until we more information we oug put a moratom on it. >> ainsley: people wondering if it was spread because of a lab leak and dr. fauci's exbox was talking to congress. fauci's exbox covid-19 lab leak theory was credible despite previous claims it was a distraction. so now he is saying that, but he down played it when he was interviewed with bret baier back in 2021. listen to this. >> i'm really sorry that the lab leak has become such a distraction for so many people because, frankly, we still don't

know. there is no evidence really to say. most of the scientific community, myself included think that is a possibility but far more likely this was a natural way in which a virus left a bat, maybe traveled through other species and got to humans. >> ainsley: now he is saying it is human. how can we trust the nih and why is he changing his story now? >> well, you know, i'm very disappointed in both him and fauci that they didn't provide the scientific leadership in january, february of 2020. to aggressively investigate both hypotheses to spill over in the lab leak. that's normally what the scientific community would do. instead, they very rapidly sort of rallied the troops around one idea that this had to come from a spillover even though i will say over the last 3 to 4 years all the evidence that's been gathered points more toward lab leak and obviously we haven't done any evidence to support the spillover. they did this, i think largely

because they thought they were protecting science. and the science that they were protecting is this gain of function research that they want to do. but, in fact, they did the opposite. i think we have lost a lot of credibility in both nih and unfortunately cdc because of their lack of transparency. >> ainsley: also dr. redfield we wanted to ask you about this story out of virginia. officials are warning travelers if they travel through dulles airport or reagan airport january 3rd or 4th. be on the lookout for measles. a patient was walking through the airport and had measles. i know this is easily transmitted. can you tell us more about this and what should we look for if someone watching did travel during these dates? >> yes. so, measles is highly infectious. probably the most infectious virus we have. i think covid-19 is probably the most second most infectious virus we have. and that's why, again, i think it was engineered. the reality though is if you have been vaccinated against measles, or if you are older and

had had measles when you were a young child, like i did, you really have nothing to worry about. the immunity that you get from the vaccine or from natural infection is long-term durable immunity. the people at risk are the people that have been unvaccinated. unfortunately, and people led to this with the vaccine hesitancy, there's a lot of people that really have not had their children vaccinated against measles, those are the children that are at risk. measles is actually causing outbrebreaks in number of counts around the world and that's why these travelers or potentially people come across the southern border can bring measles in. the best defense for the viewers is to be vaccinated and if you are vaccinated. you really don't need to be concerned. >> ainsley: that's the mmr, measles, mumps and robel la. only need one shot in your lifetime. >> children we'll usually give
