nikki haley, who likes the system, i guess, who says he doesn't like the system was going to change it and he never did. now it's benefiting nikki haley. he said the governor should have done something about it and he said who has a system where democrats can vote in a republican primary? >> steve: do you know what is going to happen? it's going to be like a general election, essentially. you will be able to have anybody in new hampshire vote. for the most part, the primaries are the primaries. each state party operates their own but, in this case, it's wide open. that is -- it's a streak that new hampshire has had for decades and they are going to continue it. >> lawrence: typically you don't have a general election in the primary. i have been talking about this for a couple days now. did i some more research on it. nearly 4,000 democratic voters that switched their affiliation to the republican party, undeclared primary ahead to the independents. why does this matter? i went back and looked at iowa. nbc and des moines register and surprisingly a super majority, a

folks said they were going to calculation for donald trump said they would vote for him against joe biden their preferred choice was joe biden. 27% of the people planned on caucusing were going to vote for robert f. kennedy. people voting in a republican primary that don't plan on voting for the candidate, which is typically, if a democrat wants to vote for a republican they wait until the general election. >> unfortunately right now, brian. you got a lot of democrats trying to change the way the republicans pick their candidate because they feel like one may be weaker than the other. >> a lot of states do that they allow you to do that and register for the primary. former president of the united states i look at it as a challenge. as nikki haley pointed out yesterday, republicans lost seven of the eight popular

votes. if you want to govern a country. and the president keeps talking in a unifying way. is he has gone out of his way to talk like that, obviously. if he does get a double dignity victory over that shows his strength in the general. i saw yesterday with his interview with sean hannity he did not talk about 2020 being rigged. do you know what he talked about? i got more votes than any republican in history. and he talked about looking forward bush 41 after bob dole, and the think is nikki haley, even though she has some personal strife with her dad sick and everything. she is happy warrior. she is on stage. conversational. comfortable with the issues. pointing out a contrast. pointing out the age of the president, not being put

downish. that's kind of smart. because you want 80-year-olds to vote for you too. if you keep saying 80-year-olds are terrible people. that's not a positive. i like the show now. chris sununu is telling something interesting, ainsley. he went from nikki haley is going to win new hampshire to nikki haley is going to be close. and so he is kind of ratcheting down the hoax. >> ainsley: like vivek. you are going to see a surprise in iowa. the surprise was he dropped out. >> steve: that was the surprise. >> ainsley: suffolk university does this daily tracking poll and yesterday the numbers were in for donald trump. he was getting 450% of the likely voters for new hampshire. haley was getting 36%. and desantis 6%. here what happens can happen. he takes iowa. he already did that. he got 98 of the # 9 counties. now we go to new hampshire. he looks, according to this poll, is he going to win by a lot in new hampshire, by, what, 16 points? and then goes to south carolina. and nikki haley used to be

governor there, but it looks like donald trump is up in the polls there. so, if we get to south carolina and he has won all three states, then it's done. he's the candidate. >> lawrence: that's why new hampshire is a must win for someone like nikki haley. those are your independent voters, more progressive voters, more moderate republicans. you got win that state because when you go to south carolina, you are back to that conservative circle. these more of my base there is a lot of big money sitting on the sides waiting to see how she does in new hampshire. this morning when i was getting dressed i was listening to the radio. nikki haley is going to be with us in the 8:00 hour. 8:00 this morning, i heard the governor of new hampshire, chris sununu on the radio, and he said the thing about donald trump in iowa, and across the board, he is running essentially as an incumbent, right?

>> ainsley: right. >> steve: this incumbent only got 50% of the vote in iowa. and 50 percent wanted somebody else. ultimately, he said, and i heard one other d.c. insider say the same thing. you know, an incumbent republican president running for re-election should be up in the 80 or 90 percentile, otherwise, you are going to have trouble in your own party. >> ainsley: he has to take into account that nikki haley was on the ballot and so was vivek. and ron desantis. all of those votes will go trump if he is the candidate. >> lawrence: the reality of it is even though he is known and won, he is not an incumbent. >> steve: is he running as one. he. >> lawrence: i'm saying that obviously he is the former president, but you have other republican people that are in the race. so he is not an incumbent president right now. he lost the last election. and he is coming back and saying look, making his case to voters. >> steve: he doesn't say he lost the election, actually. >> brian: is he actually not even bringing that up anymore.

what is interesting his approval rating within the republican party is around 90%. when he goes up against other republicans, they have some support. and governor ron desantis is already doing his after action report it seems with yesterday and he just brought up the fact i wish i went on other outlets. i wish did i more interviews early. >> ainsley: going to stay in until march at least. >> lawrence: now to a couple shocking incidents involving planes. >> steve: that's right. overnight a cargo flight suffered an engine malfunction in mid-air forcing its return to miami airport soon after takeoff. spectacular images we are working on get them shortly. >> ainsley: american airlines plane carrying dozens of passengers skids off a snowy runway in upstate new york. >> brian: todd piro joins us in studio. >> todd: american airlines plane carrying 53 passengers sliding off the tarmac yesterday afternoon shortly after landing rochester, international. that plane was arriving from philadelphia when it started to

slide. an american airlines spokesperson claims the incident was caused by snowy airfield conditions. i think they unlocked the mills industry there. fortunately nobody was hurt that plane was towed out of the snow and will be out of service until the faa completes a full inspection. an atlas air cargo plane experiencing an engine malfunction, forcing it to make an emergency landing less than an hour after takeoff. unverified media on social media showing sparks flying from the left wing. a flight path tracker showing the plane departed from miami just after 10:00 p.m., quickly returned after briefly flying over the ocean. atlas says nobody was hurt. meantime, the big story when it documents planes, alaska airlines expending boeing 737 max 9 flight cancellations through sunday. the airline says it is waiting for the documentation from inspections made by the faa. last week the f apartment a said 40 of the 171 planes needed to be reinspected following the incident where the door plug

parents calling for change. one student had to be taken to the hospital. the fights were filmed on cell phones where they were students between two rival schools. parents are asking district officials to come up with concrete plan on how to prevent future violence. this just in, president biden approving nearly $5 billion in new student loan debt relief for 74,000 borrowers. in a statement he says my administration is able to deliver relief to these borrowers and millions more because of fixes we made to broken student loan programs that were preventing borrowers from getting relief that they were entitled to under the law according to the white house # .7 million americans have had

yesterday we had a chance to hear some of these stories because two moms were in front of congress. they were upset that mayorkas didn't show up for the hearing. but they talked about their stories. one mom said that her daughter and it's not -- this is josephine but another mom tammy noble said her daughter was in her own bedroom and was raped and then strangled with a cord by an ms-13 gang member who is here illegally. and said she had just turned 20 years old a few days ago. and she said i got the news that no mother ever wants to hear that your daughter is dead. >> steve: this woman josephine dunn her daughter died from fentanyl which we know coming across the southern border. listen. >> in my humble opinion, mr. mayorkas' border policy is specially responsible for my daughter's death. his wide open border policy allows massive quantities of

different states from the age of 2 to the age of 29. and at the age of 29, i escaped and was able to go to a pregnancy center where i met a woman named phyllis phelps. and she shared jesus with me. she said i know a man named jesus. and she told me that there's life and that there is hope. she let me heart heart beat of my child. in that i said to her now what? i'm homeless and pregnant? how can you help me? she provided sent me to a program. i had my son. i went back working with her because i was that challenged. and i was asking her how can you help me? she opened a home called house of hope in new hampshire. there we worked together and that same woman that saved my son and my life, she actually handed me the application for branches. now i do the same thing at branches pregnancy resource center in vermont where i help women who are being trafficked as well, homeless certain circumstance situations. i just had a woman reach out and said how can you help me? i'm pregnant? i'm in distress right now just at 5:00 this morning.

that's what is what we do every day. >> carley: one of the things did you are fighting for and your story is amazing. you are such a triumph and success and you have a beautiful son and you got yourself by the grace of god and with the help of jesus out of a tough situation and now you are running a pregnancy resource center. one of the things you are fighting for today are those centers. because the pro-abortion people want to shut them down. why? >> yeah. it's crazy. sadly right now, the biden administration department of health and human services has done a proposed rule that would prohibit tanf, government funds for going to pregnancy care centers. so there was a bill that was voted on yesterday in the house, and we're going to ask marchers to reach out to their senators today to allow that government funding to go to these wonderful pregnancy care centers. >> carley: just to paint a picture in a couple hours, there is going to be 50,000 people at the march for life rally and 100,000 people are expected to march from the national mall to the supreme court where you guys will be celebrating the
