9:01 am
>> kayleigh: hello, everyone, this is friday, this is "outnumbered." i'm kayleigh mcenany here with my co-host emily compagno, fox news anchor julie banderas, fox news contributor and american spirit enterprises, tammy bruce and chris valletta. here we are just four days away from the nation's first presidential primary in new hampshire, with three remaining candidates, republican ones, on the campaign trail in full force hoping to generate last-minute momentum. nbc poll found -- that is majority support, nikki haley garnered 35% and ron desantis at just 6%. former president trump is ramping up attacks on nikki
9:02 am
haley and she's giving it right back. she has no chance, no way, maga will not be with her. nikki worked well for a long time, she would not be able to handle that position or the onslot. >> i know president trump well, that is what he does when he feels threatened or insecure. do we want two 80 year olds running for president with the world on fire? >> kayleigh: emily, a lot going on, we can count down the days, tuesday coming week. nikki haley and donald trump tied and the trump campaign said no, that is an outlier. since then, there are two polls that we just showed and a boston university suffolk poll showing donald trump with majority support. if he were to get majority support like in iowa, it would
9:03 am
be a presumption answer. >> emily: we can't predict the outcomes, polls say this. there is a lot of factors coming into play, especially given it is new hampshire. we know that undeclared can join in. a huge factor. we've talked before, chris christie dropping out, vivek dropping out, it is not a one-to-one ratio. i think it is really important, as well, to note no labels, they are considering a unity presidential ticket. if haley is not the gop candidate, we know immigration is top concern for voters in new hampshire and we know that 86% of republicans and republican leaning independents say that biden is too old to be president. just 34% say that trump is. i know these are a bunch of disparate facts, it is unpredictable.
9:04 am
new hampshire voters and independents tend to be moderate leaning. it is anyone's game. polls are strong, we'll find out in a couple days. >> emily: julie, they are ramping up attacks, trump attacking haley, and haley attacking in a way she hasn't until recently. nikki haley is still holding back a bit, not going full on chris christie. cbs said is trump unfit? she would not answer. cnn brought up the e. jean carroll case and she did not talk about that. >> i do not think at this point, former president trump said she does not have maga republicans in her corner and that is a fact. talk to any maga republican, they see her as a rino, and do not support her and feel she has
9:05 am
turned her back on trump. trump supporters are loyal, if you turn your back, forget, you're out. i don't think he would pick her for vp. it is interesting to see what happens in new hampshire, technically it doesn't count, biden is not on the ticket there. bottom line, if she doesn't win new hampshire, a lot of political heads have said there is strong chance she'll have to bow out, i don't see her bowing out any time soon. >> kayleigh: tammy, you get to south carolina. nikki haley has independent support and could pull out a win in new hampshire. it is possible. she stares down south carolina. bring up numbers, real clear politics. you see majority support for trump. 52%. haley 21.8 and desantis 11. say she does not prevail on tuesday. does she stay in? lindsey graham says longer you
9:06 am
stay in, les likely you are to be vice preshl pick and no one wants to lose their home state. >> tammy: i think the debates had impact for americans, they looked at everybody. there have been surprises how desantis performed or didn't perform. her numbers rose as people got to know her. she's smart by not going after a jugular with donald trump. everyone knows to revive this country takes all-involved effort, it is everyone onboard. we have to have all theitalents, there is a lot of talent with desantis and haley. some would not work with trump. then the country is not their first concern temperature is all hands on deck. she understands that. president trump loves the country and he understands that. yes, maga is not liking nikki haley at the moment, if donald trump and you have seen him become more magnanimous, his
9:07 am
attitude much more embracing in general. he likes to compete and win. but these numbers are baked in across the country. him at 50 plus, americans have decided based not just on trump and gop debates, on how badly things are going with biden. so this is the dynamic, she i think will be invaluable in a very important position in the cabinet and i think trump understands that. if he -- he has to be able to bring people together to get the country back up. >> kayleigh: chris, i cannot overstate the importance of what tammy is saying. 51% in iowa. 49% did not. you need that 49%. we must unify the party. the base stayed with trump through the legal issues and that's a lot. the base stayed with trump as desantis said he is changing his position on abortion. you can debate if that is true
9:08 am
or not true. the base has stayed with trump, and i think he would stay with him, even if he picked a vice president that was unifying. especially staring down what emily compagno said, pull aut up the headline. if she's a third-party candidate, she pulls from biden and could pull from trump. all these things to consider as he looks at the vp pick >> chris: we are witnessing political baseball and new hampshire is important, state motto is live free or die. it is important to understand we have learned right to be in leadership in the world, it
9:09 am
doesn't mean we get to keep it. not going with haley is interesting term. i want maga to go with everybody, making america great again has been demonized in a strange way and associated with trump and demonized and i believe making america great again should follow all candidates across both political spectrums because that is the position we can take in the world. that is the unfortunate reality of the media environment. we'll see what happens in new hampshire, i hope we can come together, unify as a party and make an impact. >> kayleigh: the argument was made you didn't need john cmccan voters, you need them and you need a party with a big tent elections are winning and addition. a lot to consider, tuesday is coming quick. harris and i will be live from new hampshire, next week covering breaking news out of the first in the nation primary. hope you will join us.

the second thing, the president is 81 years old. it is going to be tough to reinvent grandpa. he will not become a new candidate. >> emily: old grandpa line same day as this moment. >> mention debra ross. where is debra? i just had my picture taken with her. that is probably why she left. no, anyway, oh, she couldn't be here. that is not true, i got mixed up. >> emily: there were subtitles on what the president was saying put on a video. that is undeniable. >> it is undeniable. i actually don't have a problem with an older candidate. doesn't bother me. what i want is a candidate who projects strength to the country. that is what is most important. with age comes wisdom and experience. look in the past and look at

what benjamin franklin said when asked if we have a republic or monarchy. it is a republic, if you can keep it. roosevelt said speak softly, but carry a big stick. we need a leader who projects strength and surrounds themselves with capable people to implement tools needed to succeed in this geopolitical climate. age is great per wisdom, we need projection of strength and we don't have that. we have a projection of weak ness and that makes us vulnerable. >> emily: translate that to the campaign of current president biden and talk about new hampshire. >> kayleigh: nikki haley was asked about age and gave similar answer. i don't think i'm insulting anyone, standing up to russia and china who senses weakness from our president.

campaign, what does that do? does that energize someone like michelle obama? i realize that is an out-there theory, if he doesn't do well, pressure on him. >> emily: julie, talk about that. "new york post" columnist cindy adams, warned, don't be shocked if michelle obama sneaks her way into the 2024 race and goes on to say coming back now, obama, not him, her. we've heard this drum beat for a while. it is getting louder. planses are to grab michelle for the democratic presidency choice and barack obama is the orchestra leader. quietly angling for joe to go. joe flop-out offers probability michelle could wiggle in. obama is negotiating to make that happen. pay attention to them gurgling about the election, talking about biden's bad polling, everything but bad leroy brown,
9:20 am
obamas are not into casual statements. >> julie: they are not, only way to get back in the white house for obama is to get his wife in. that is ludicrous, like president kennedy and jackie kennedy going and running for p presidency or melania trump. these are not politicians, these are wives of former presidents, that does not entitle you to the white house. that is how desperate the democratic party is. you married a president, that makes you qualified? what would make michelle obama be president of the united states? she is a smart woman. that doesn't mean you can lead the country. hillary had a political background and served as senator and so forths, what does michelle obama have? a cookbook? i don't know. i don't know her qualifications.
9:21 am
>> tammy: she hated washington and talked about not being able to wait to get out of the white house and who could blame her. with what we've seen, it has been awful. like with hillary, bill clinton, masterful at retail politics, enjoyed it. she was the ideologue and didn't like people or doing it, she was entitleds to it. same situation here, barack obama, masterful, enjoyed doing it, she's not going to be the front person. it gets clicks and gets people thinking there could be an alternative and people are desperate, that is the framework here. >> emily: i also think, me musing, michelle obama is accomplished attorney and she's liked, well respected and liked. to me, it indicates what the democratic party is lacking. not what she lacks, what they like, likeability and a leader
