the race narrowed to a one-on-one match-up after yesterday's surprise resignation by florida governor ron desantis. >> it's clear to me that republican voters want to give trump a number chance. he is superior to the incumbent joe biden. that's clear. i signed a pledge to support the republican nominee and i will honor that pledge. >> dana: nikki haley is here and will join us in a moment. let's begin with bryan llenas live in manchester, new hampshire and an update on all things from his point of view. >> good morning. governor ron desantis was set to have a 5:00 p.m. meet and greet in manchester, new hampshire yesterday before he released that video announcing he was dropping out of the race, endorsing the former president. but he also took one last parting shot at trump. >> i've had disagreements with donald trump such as on the coronavirus pandemic and his elevation of anthony fauci.

trump is better than the incumbent joe biden, that's clear. >> trump spoke to us about desantis's endorsement and the governor's covid criticism. >> he worked very hard. it is a tough go and he worked hard. his wife is a terrific woman and both worked hard and dropping out he endorsed me and i appreciate that very much. i think we'll do very well. it is hard for him. it's not like you feel wonderful when you do it. i think we did a fantastic job on covid. >> last night former governor nikki haley had her largest rally yet in new hampshire. 1200 people as tv's judge judy endorsed her. she sharpened her attacks against trump saying at 77 years old, he is too old for the presidency. here is haley and trump's reaction. >> it is a fact that you decline over time. it is a fact that you slow down and what i'm saying is the

i voted for trump twice. i was proud to serve america in his administration. i agree with a lot of his policies. he was good at breaking things. you have to be good at fixing things, too. this is a time we have to fix america. that's what we're focused on. and rightly or wrongly, chaos follows him. and you talk to any of the people. we had 1200 people at our rally. they are worried. they want to get wasteful spending under control. worried about their kids. kids are wore eft how to buy a home. it's 49 years old for the average home buyer. the border. it doesn't look like the united states of america. northern border, they have had 500 people cross the border on the terrorist watch list. people are feeling this. here you have donald trump in a courtroom today. and you've got him and joe biden giving us more of the same.

70% of americans say they don't want a trump-biden rematch. everybody saw both of them put us in trillions of dollars in debt and investigations. we need a new leader focused on how we get america back on track for our kids. i don't want my kids to live like this. i don't think anybon wants their kids to live like that. we can do better. >> dana: you said you wanted to get it to a two-person race. was it in time to make a difference? >> absolutely. we started with 13 people. 2% in the polls. we finished iowa with 20%. we want to be stronger in new hampshire and stronger in south carolina. keep in mind, i know the political class wants to say that this race is over. i know the political class is saying everybody needs to get behind trump. this is not a coronation.

less than 1 1/2 percent of that state voted for trump. we haven't started with this election yet. we don't do coronation. it's about giving people options. we're in it and keep going and count it. i saved my money. i made sure we stayed in a lot of garden inns and flew commercial. we'll go into south carolina. >> bill: here is donald trump on the independents here in new hampshire. >> did you see where 50% of the people that voted for her in iowa are going to vote for biden? in other words, they're democrats. they're voting. think of it. they'll vote for biden. they just had no choice so they picked her. this isn't what we want. >> bill: it looks like you went did you go on offense too late

in new hampshire? >> of course not. my job was to get every fellow out of the race. one left. not go against trump from the very beginning. this is a marathon rick not a sprint. you go one at a time. he has lied about that. he told everybody on your newscast throughout fox that democrats were going to be voting in the new hampshire primary. democrats can't vote in the primary. they had to change their registration months ago. he continues to say i want to cut social security. i never said that or raise the retirement age. he said i don't want a wall. i passed the toughest illegal immigration law in the country when i was governor. president bam ya sued me over it and we won. just because trump says something doesn't make it true. when he throws temper tantrums like this he is nervous and feels threatened. he should. we'll call him out. we have a country to save. are we really going to be the republican party that decides

>> here is what's going on from our own bill melugin. honduran illegal immigrant charged with child sex abuse was released from a fairfax county jail without notice ignoring warnings from ice and assaulted an ice agent when they arrested him again at his home in springfield, virginia. ice said fairfax county refused to honor the ice detainer launched against the non-citizen. when they're ignored the public is put at risk. this time the result was a unnecessary injury of a federal law enforcement officer. president biden recently said he doesn't think the situation on the border is a crisis but admitted to jacque heinrich the border is not secure. here is biden and texas governor greg abbott responding. >> [inaudible]

prosecutor she hired, they might be lovers. she paid him more than $650,000 and now an estranged wife in a bitter divorce fight with the prosecutor. the hearing is nathan wade's divorce proceedings. will they be unsealed and will the district attorney be forced to give a deposition? also a hearing set by the judge for february 15th that will look at whether these two, the d.a. and prosecutor had an improper relationship and whether they misused public money to get vacations for themselves. some say this could derail or at least delay the case against trump. >> at a very minimum this is going to push the case well out past this year's presidential election because whichever side loses on this motion, the other side is probably going to be able to appeal it pre-trial. >> now we saw a hint of what these divorce proceedings could contain on friday. lawyers for the estranged wife

than the other prosecutors in the case will raise eyebrows. professional plea and ethically what are you doing with the funds you have in your office to prosecute this case? are they benefiting you personally through this relationship? >> bill: some of the questions of nathan wade or others had contact with jack smith in washington, d.c. you had jim jordan asking about contacts he might have had with the white house. here is what jim jordan said about that. >> we've actually written mr. wade, nathan wade the guy she hired wanting to know who he talked to at the white house and who he talked to on january 6th committee and who he talked to, correspondence he had with the justice department. after all the district attorney's office in atlanta received 14.6 million in grant money from the federal government to help run their office. we think we have a right to know what's going on here. >> bill: does that add up to you, trey? >> it does. jimmie so there are politics and

there is the law. the politics is awful, as shannon laid out. the optics. nathan wade is not an experienced criminal prosecutor. you ought not to be dating your boss. certainly if your boss is married. who is interested? the family court judge is interested, gbi. georgia bureau of investigation is interested, congress is interested whether or not you were talking to d.o.j. but let me tell you who is probably not interested, the trial judge in state of georgia versus trump. i don't see the relevance and i know people are sitting saying you can't be serious. you can't be doing all the things nathan wade and willis are doing. i was involved in a case where the prosecutor and the f.b.i. agents lied to a republican congressman. they lied to him both, prosecutor and federal agents. the judge wouldn't allow the jury to hear it. the prosecutor donated to a group that wanted to get rid of the republican congressman. the trial judge said it is not relevant and the jury won't hear

it. we're talking about it from a political standpoint. whether a jury ever hears any of this in georgia versus trump, i'm not sure. >> dana: wow. the other thing happening today, shannon, 51st anniversary of roe v. wade and biden is going to make a big deal out of abortion as an issue for the democrats going forward. his statement is even as americans from ohio to kentucky to given, man -- republican elected officials continue to push for a national ban and devastating new restrictions across the country. there will be a lot on this. there is already a lot of disinformation and misinformation that's out there. how do you see it going forward? >> the knock has been on republicans. they have not taken control of the messaging. just in the statements we get from the white house they refer to it as a constitutional right taken away. supreme court found it was not a

constitutional right. if you aren't talking to democrats. you guys have ask them, too. where do you draw the line? articulate your position for the viewers. repeatedly democrats on the show that wouldn't say we draw it anywhere beyond the full pregnancy for a woman to make that decision. >> bill: what you have to look at here is whether or not these seven or eight battleground states in november have abortion on the ballot. and i think we need to get a measure of that. i don't know if we have a great sense of that today. or even an accurate sense, do you? >> i tell what we do have a sense of. most americans don't want women or doctors imprisoned when it comes to the issue of abortion. when you have state let tours like one in my home state advocating for the death penalty for a rape victim who decides not to carry the child, then that's a political loser. republicans used to say this is a state issue. we got to the states and you

have crazy legislators proposing things like the death penalty, most americans, you can criticize roe v. wade all you want, most americans had come to some peace that this is what the law is. they may not like it to shannon's point. republicans ought to be talking about infanticide, partial birth abortion but not putting women in prison. that's a political loser. >> dana: 100%. great to have you both. you will be perino an politics. >> bill: from overseas iranian proxies hitting u.s. forces in a significant way ramping up fears of a wider war in the middle east. lawmakers pressuring president biden to take control of that. both democrats and republicans. what will the white house decide? plus this. this was nuts, a grandmother arrested as she was about to board a one way flight out of the country and due in court

one-way flight out of the country. what's going on? madison is live in atlanta with the latest. >> good morning, dana. he was murdered in his driveway in 2014. now his mother-in-law, donna, is another person charged in the crime, along with her son, charlie. she is due in court today. dramatic new video shows her being arrested at the miami airport in november while attempting to board a one-way flight to vietnam, a country that does not have an ex extradition treaty with the u.s. her arrest came days after charlie's conviction for hiring two hitmen to murder his brother-in-law. police arrested her with her husband, haar varicose attempting to board the same flight. her demeanor is calm. she is charged with solicitation

to commit murder in the death. the 73-year-old is the fifth person arrested in the murder for hire plot. legal experts say jail conversations between donna and charlie are what led to her arrest. >> prosecutors will definitely argue to jurors that an innocent person doesn't flee. they stay and they fight. she will argue she was being framed like the mona lisa and had to get out of town to avoid the unlawful conviction that was about to take place. >> charlie was sentenced to life in prison without parole back in december. he maintains his innocence, dana. >> dana: thank you, that's a wild story. >> bill: centcom says some u.s. troops in an air base in iraq may have suffered traumatic brain injury. missiles landed near their base with more strikes on iran-backed houthis in yemen. all raising fears the war in

rebels 25,000 times in ten years. so what are we in for, sir? >> i think really if you are looking at our engagement now it is about protection and sacred and inherent right of self-defense for those ships. those u.s., british and international commercial ships. we have a moral obligation to insure those ships are defended. two ways to do it. number one you shoot down the missiles that are coming at you and the drones. the other one is the -- if you see hostile intent and setting up missiles, ballistic missiles, a step up, if you see that, do you have the right to go in there and preemptively attack the site? yes, that's what's occurring.

good morning. >> good morning, bill. shelby park here is very quiet compared to even december when hundreds of thousands of migrants crossed over illegally on the southern border. this spot right here was one of the biggest spots for those migrant crossings. now take a look at what texas governor greg abbott's military department has done to fortify this park. texas dps tells us the low number of migrants crossings now is seasonal and once the weather warms up they do expect to see an influx once again. we saw the military putting up even more fencing over the weekend to add to that razor wire. texas has now kicked out border patrol from this park and texas state troopers are now arresting migrants who tamper with razor wire charging them with criminal trespassing. witnessed texas military two-man boats patrolling the river, another deterrent. house foreign affairs committee
