last night all of us were watching. we weren't sure if she was going to drop out because she started thanking her parents and family and chris sununu and his family and then thanking donald trump saying he did a good job. he said he earned it. and then said but i'm not going anywhere. we're going to south carolina. >> steve: going in we saw these polls, these polls as recent as a couple of days ago showed that nikki haley would be trounced by donald trump that didn't happen. closer to so points. lawrence, the margin we are going to get for everybody who joining us right now is 11 and some change he beat her. he was not very happy she did not say donald trump is going to win so i'm going to get out because she says she has got a path. >> lawrence: you know, whether it was 30 points or the 11 points it was still a decisive victory for the former

president. she had a lot of independent independents as well as democrats. we just talked with some of them here in the diner said they would only vote for her. definitely donald trump has to go after those voters going into the general election. it seems like when you look at it, it looks like nikki haley is running a general election campaign in the primary. so she is trying to recruit those where donald trump, it looks like the first speech that he gave in iowa was moving onto the general election. last night, it seems like she angered him with her speech. >> brian: you think? >> lawrence: wasn't happy with some of the pundits and their response to it. he really went after them. actually went to the campaign event yesterday, kind of stood in the back, and watched this play out. and had the opportunity to talk to the former president for a little bit before. it seemed like he had a different tone when i was talking to him before. when he went on stage, something happened. and he really took on the

governor. >> ainsley: funny you say that i was watching fox before he took the stage and they were all wondering if he was going to be gracious or not. he got on stage and pulled up so many different people, tim scott spoke twice, actually. and tom homan spoke. he had different people on staining that he wanted to shoat world that they are supporting him. vivek was on stage. eric trump was on stage with him. yeah, he was mad because he said -- he said look, everyone, i won iowa. she came in third. and she is declaring a win. then we go to new hampshire and i won new hampshire, she came in last at second place. and so he said a win is a win and i am on top. >> steve: as it turns out she did not finish last. because, as we talked about yesterday. there were 25 republicans on the ballot. >> ainsley: no one knows who they are. >> steve: i'm going to tell you. i looked it up this morning. the secretary of state's website. donald trump finished first. nikki haley did finish second. but you know who finished last? 25th place?

same sloan. sam, sorry, but you finished last. >> brian: 31-16 in terms of delegates. after the first two contests 31-16 trump over haley mccain 35%. mitt romney 35% of the vote. 74% of the moderates voted for haley. 58% of the college graduates voted for haley. 66% of those not registered as republicans but flipped voted for haley. the president should be thinking general. i know his machine is primed for that and i think is he going to arizona and is he going to nevada. thinking general. he has got to get both those states. those are the things when you sit down and break it down with team trump, he is going to say what matters to those people and how do i get them? and i do disagree with the president on one thing. nikki haley did have a nice dress, lawrence. i don't know how nice the dress was. i believe it was a nice dress. do you con -- do you go with me or the president on that? >> lawrence: i learned a long

was at the nikki haley i came in second party last night. >> ainsley: bryan llenas has been in new hampshire and he spoke to haley's campaign last night. hey, brian, what did they say? >> hey, brian, ainsley, steve, look, the haley campaign is doing exactly what you guys have mentioned. they are onto the next. last night former president donald trump took the stage a winner by 11 points over former governor nikki haley. he becomes the first republican candidate to win the iowa caucuses and new hampshire back-to-back since 1976. but you guys mentioned it. trump mentioned president biden's name by name three times in his speech last night. but he devoted a specific portion of his speech going after haley. look, trump said haley had a very bad night. said that, you know, he could not believe that she went on stage and essentially claimed victory. let's listen. >> you know, you have to have people that speak up. i said can i go up and speak to everybody thank you for the

victory and go up and say who the hell [bleep] was the imposture went up on the stage before and like claimed a victory. she did very poorly, actually. she had to win the governor said she is going to win, she is going to win. she is going to win. then she failed badly. >> lawrence: after one point going after her dress saying it wasn't fancy. trump is too old. if he believes is he more mentally fit than she is, he should debate her. she made the case that she would do better against president biden. >> most americans do not want a rematch between biden and trump. the first party to retire its 08-year-old candidate is going to be the party that wins this election. [cheers] and i think it should be the republicans that win this election. >> now, obviously haley went on

to congratulate trump and said this race is not over. this race does shift to south carolina. they will be in charleston, tonight, $4 million ad buy in south carolina. the former governor says, look, attacks against her by the president won't work there because she was a two-time governor and they know her. one thing is very clear, guys, from the haley's camp, they are not using south carolina as the true barometer. the campaign releasing a memo that says basically this election we will know where we stand in election after super tuesday. after march 5th. they think 11 of those 16 states are fertile ground for haley. open primaries and independents can exarp pate in them. >> brian: the problem with south carolina it was from october the last poll. you wonder if anything has changed. buff he got a ton of endorsements. 13 south carolina officials have endorsed the former president to one for nikki haley. so much has changed since october. don't you think? >> yeah. no doubt about it.

buff the way in which haley is trying to do this she is saying, look, i'm getting the grass root donations. trump is getting all the legislative endorsements. is he part of the swamp and whatnot. i will say this. when you are not winning primaries. what's the barometer of saying you are winning. here it's improvement. they improved upon iowa. they will improve upon new hampshire they say. they also say ultimately, look, the former president got barely half the vote. that's incredibly weak for incumbent. they also say, frankly, go i can the expectations were that she was going to get beat by 20. they are constantly sort of moving the goal post here about what the expectation is. >> ainsley: still won by double digits. >> steve: you also talked to that team haley team and they said they are going to stay in the race just in case donald trump is forced from the race for whatever reason. essentially, they think there's a path. if the republicans need a plan b.

>> brian: right. >> yeah, one thing i would say about this -- okay, sorry, go ahead. >> ainsley: no, you go ahead. we want to hear what you have to say. >> all right. yeah. i was just going to say like, you know, they said why is trump so angry? so, essentially, haley is leaving the door open to continuing these attacks by saying when trump goes after her, it's a sign he is feeling threatened. she is saying she is not being personal. she is just speaking hard truth. that's the campaign's perspective. steve bryan, great reporting from manchester, thank you very much. let's take a look at the fox news voter analysis. we talked to 2,000 people ask who we talked to republicans and democrats, and the results are based on which of the two ballots they looked -- they called for. of new hampshire republicans, as you can see right there, the unaffiliated, 62% went for nikki haley. when it comes to very conservative voters, the next panel, it shows you that donald trump wins in a landslide, very

conservative. 83%. but, here is the rub and we are going to talk a little bit about how a lot of the major publications today are talking about this. how would you feel if trump wins the nomination? 53% of republicans will be very satisfied. but here's the problem for the former president. according to our voter analysis, 35% of republicans said they would not vote for donald trump. and in a politico article, they say with their analysis, 43% of nikki haley voters yesterday would vote for joe biden. >> ainsley: 43 say he would get the rest of that, which is a lot. you know, lawrence, you are talking to the folks that are there. what are the ones who support nikki haley, what kind of a plan do they want for her? >> well, so if you talk to the nikki haley supporters here. they say they just want the race to continue. of the thing that i found fascinating and i hear pockets. this has been a great diner to

really assess this data. i talked to five unaffiliated voters that voted for nikki haley in the republican prime plenipotentiary they have never voted for a republican before. they also told me they plan on voting for joe biden if she is not on the ticket. so, it just shows you demographics we are dealing with in new hampshire. i think the president, truthfully, take all of this in. look at all the polling, everything continued. got ronna mcdaniel coalescing saying the party should go. looks like going to be the nominee. i think he should use this as a moment not to necessarily go after nikki haley. but talk about the agenda that got some of those independents to vote for him back in 2016. what did we find in the number one issue is the border. there has been no other candidate that's been more dominant. >> ainsley: why would they vote for joe biden if that's their issue, why would they vote for him? >> lawrence: that's the question. why do they say.

>> steve: lawrence, pardon the interruption. ultimately, the case you are making is donald trump last night, according to the voter analysis by a.p., donald trump did not carry key groups of swing voters as we have talked about for decades on the channel. you need the swing voters, you need independents because those are the ones who pick the president. >> brian: if nikki haley is going to do well it would be in new hampshire and this is how well she did. she lost by 12 points. any other year, this is a substantial win for trump except for trump has this huge name recognition and he is coming back for the first time in our lifetime to try to do something that only grover cleveland has done in our past. so it's established. but really not an incumbent. because for four years he has been out that's why is he going to go through the primary process. i know one thing, barack obama became so much better of a candidate after he had that long battle with hillary clinton. and maybe donald trump after being out for four years and not

having to get the nomination four years prior, having a basement operation because of the pandemic in 2020, maybe in the long run this is going to help him giving these speeches. going out, listening to people. changing the message. you know, moving from city to city to city. if this is dragged out a little bit. even though i know he wants to just focus on joe biden. >> ainsley: i understand after interviewing her yesterday i went back too my hotel room and thought about it. i understand where she is coming from where she says it's been one state. this was yesterday morning. there has been one state. and we're going to decide as a country that i'm out now after one state? so i do understand her side. but, the voters have spoken. donald trump won in iowa. it's historic. no one has ever won by that many, by 30 points in iowa. then he goes on to win new hampshire. that hasn't happened since 1976. 47 years ago. so, what does this say about going forward? then in south carolina, all the leaders, look, tim scott standing right behind him. is he one of our south carolina

senators. lindsey graham supports him. is he our other senator. you have henry mcmaster who is our governor who supported him. he was the first elected official to ever support donald trump when he ran the first time. he has a lot of backing. nancy mace decided to back him. what does nikki haley do in south carolina? does she get out now and save her money so she can run in four more years? does she try to make one donald trump so maybe he would ask her to be the vice president so that they get independent vote and they get the maga vote? it would unite the party. >> steve: that is the key, ainsley. if donald trump is going to go ahead and right now big win last night. big win last week. if he is going to be the nominee, he has got to unite the party. and right now bunch of nikki haley people who voted for him last night didn't vote for him, and there are a lot of swing voters. he has got to bring them back into the fold. he has got plenty of time. >> brian: we have tim scott coming up a little bit later and governor sununu. >> lawrence: yeah. that is the true question.

and when you look at the candidates, look, there has been a lot of talk about the -- i think it's important to really dive deep into it. you got republican primaries and you have democrat primaries. the person for each primary is supposed to appeal in the moment to their voters. and there seems to be a huge tribe of trump supporters. that are -- have a strong hold on the republican party right now. they dominate the party. but then you have moderate voters within the party as well. and, yes, nikki haley does get there. i think the problem that a lot of voters have is that when you have people that consider themselves to be democrats or liberals or unaffiliated voters having influence of what the party platform should be and who the candidate should be. i think the president is definitely going to have to unite the country. is he going to have to unite the party as well. but, that's going to be in the general election as well. how is he going to bring all of

those people and co--because then the case is donald trump against joe biden. right now we're still doing the donald trump vs. nikki haley thing right now. >> brian: right. by the way the democrats pretty divide. they this a bunch of democrats screaming the current president 12 times yesterday. and the president was out there really bringing the country together by saying this is the most important election since 1864. and you say the republicans are the extremists? this guy says we are on the precipice of a civil war if he is not elected. and they are blaming president trump for using extreme language. totally irresponsible. >> ainsley: all right. coming up, dwayne johnson, the rock, hints at what is next in his future in a "fox & friends" exclusive. >> will: had the conversations about the president. what is next for you? where will you set the bar next? >> i think there is more to do. you never really arrive. that continues to drive that hunger. what is next for me? i would like to think that i'm a builder, will. i like to build stuff. sometimes they build greatly.

wants neither of these people. i would imagine, like i said last night at my rally, i think most of this country would rather see a nikki haley vs. dean phillips matchup and the country would be better off. >> steve: one of the key issues, i know we did voter analysis on abortion within the democratic party. and that is, you know, 97% say abortion should be available if not in all, in most circumstances. with republican voters, they break down, according to their number one priority and number one in the state of new hampshire was immigration. and we see -- we see what is going on in our southern border. and i don't get how the white house watches those images. you got a tv. you have seen them. it's like how is that a good thing? >> steve, i have more than a tv. i have been there twice. responsibility of elected officials not make decisions from screens but to go to the place where the crisis is. in this case i have been to the southern border twice. every single voter i'm speaking with around the country and every other candidate would say

the same thing, costs and chaos. life is unaffordable and people are fearful of the chaos at our border, around the world. unfortunately, i do not see the potential of either of these men dealing with it in a way that our country really needs and the crisis at the border is solvable. i know that thoughtful republicans want thoughtful immigration policy. and i know democrats want border security. so, we should be asking a question, what the heck is going on here? >> steve: i'm glad you mentioned the last part. you mentioned thoughtful republicans because even though it was a trump event here in rochester, new hampshire a couple days ago, you went to the trump event and you talked to a bunch of republicans. >> i did, steve. that's my responsibility. i'm sick of this political culture that only rewards dividers. i flipped the district that had been republican for 60 years in 2018. i didn't do so by just pandering to democrats. i invited independents and republicans. i'm the second most bipartisan member of congress for a reason. i have great friendships with both sides of the aisle. any leader of the free world should show up and the other
