the east coast. it is friday, january 26th, after a long week, welcome to "fox and friends." hour three. biden, abbott and border battle. deadline is up today to give federal access to the park and text doesn't care, they will not comply. >> lawrence: 25 governors are supporting abbott. >> the latest on the story ahead. >> brian: and enough is kenuf. in the barbie movie, ryan gossling says he will not be swayed to forfeit the academy award after hollywood outrage over barbie's oscar snub, he is nominated and they are not. final hour of "fox and friends" starts now, all of us are better

friends with you than they are. [laughter] >> lawrence: buck up to the border showdown between text and the white house. governor greg abbott refusing to give federal agents full access to shelby park by today. >> brian: 47-acre stretch of border and sieve for illegal immigrants. >> jacqui heinrich has details. >> text governor greg abbott is siting constitutional authority to self-defense against an invasion and federal government broke its pact with the state by failing to enforce laws on the books. listen. >> text has a right as a state
5:03 am
to stop criminals from coming into the state and joe biden actually does have an option here, joe biden's option is to enforce the laws of the united states and stop illegal entry. >> constitutional experts agree with abbott and former president trump gave his support, urging states to send their national guard to the border to work hand and hand with text to help with the invasion. kristi noem said she would drive in more razor wire from south dakota herself if she has to and 25 republican governors have also pledged solidarity with abbotts, one of them oklahoma governor kevin stitt will join "fox and friends" later this hour to talk about it. democrat, including two from texas are pushing back on this to establish sole federal control of the national guard and press congressional republicans to take up the border bill being negotiated in science and looked likely to
5:04 am
pass until gop leadership acknowledged former president trump will likely be the republican nominee and he does not want this bill. governor gavin newsom slamming mcconnell for an about-face. >> that was shameful, he is rolling out and capitulating, they don't want to deal. >> yesterday texas senator cruzes president biden doesn't need more money to enforce the border, he could reimpose trump era policies that were effective keeping migrants out. this flip-flop plays into the white house claim that republicans are not serious about solving this issue they have been sounding off about for the last couple of years. >> brian: any word when we will get the text of this? >> we were expecting to get the text this week and have a vote
5:05 am
next week, it has not come out yet, there is a snag. how much of that is coming from this push from trump not to have this move forward versus disagreement between the democratic and republican side on details of the bill, we don't really know. we've heard a lot of praise for this bill from senator lindsey graham, saying if anyone thinks you are going to get a better border deal under trump presidency, you won't. you will not have 60 votes in science to do what you want to do, they should move on this now. ted cruz says, why pass a bill that can't pass lower chamber, house republicans don't want it, we'll put them in a terrible position, wait for president trump to enact things to don't need additional funding. that is the empass. >> steve: sounds like you were eluding to in your remarks, if
5:06 am
this happens, we've heard this bill they have been working on in the science would be historic in nature and change everything. we've waited a generation for something like this. for the former president to say don't pass it, it would help the democrat, sounds like the white house is ready to say, we tried, blame them. they have been saying this all along about everything. there was claim house republicans wanted to eliminate 2000 border agents, which was given three pinocchios. they have stood by it even though it wasn't true. this would make some of those claims verifiable. they are serving foter to democrat in the white house to use as much as they are thinking they will use it, it will cut both ways.
5:07 am
>> trump, r.f.k. jr., nikki haley are siding with texas on the border fight. >> steve: we'll talk to kevin stitt in five minutes. >> lawrence: some people have seen the text and say they would not allow it because of the amount of people it would allow in the country. >> brian: hr 2 doesn't have all the republican votes, you can't pass it. only thing i would add, what they want to do is this. 5000, we have record 12 to 15,000. >> lawrence: in a day. >> brian: that shuts border down. when the stock market hits a certain level, they shut it down. when this hits 5000, no one gets in, even legal. 5000, you can't have 5001. you can have less, if they have a surge at the border, it stops

5:09 am
court date in chicago in five years, how bad has it gotten in the windy city? >> so bad that there is no plan. they blame it on the current administration and that did not work and they started blaming it on the governor of texas. the governor of texas didn't calling the city sanctuary city, the mayor did. the thing about it, our mayor has no plan, now he is having panic attacks, we need to recall the mayor. >> lawrence: i'm starting to see black folks on the south side furious about this. we had several on our show. the question is, how is it going to affect the campaign with president joe biden running for reelection and donald trump that seems like he will be the nominee. do you think that some folks in
5:10 am
the city will change the way they vote based on this issue? >> i'm a democrat, as i said before. i don't believe in -- i believe in choice. i believe also in shutting and closing the borders. when i'm out talking to people, residents and voters, they are frustrated and angry. they feel left out and forgotten about. they feel mayor johnson took their vote and voice and did not allow them to vote if they wanted a sanctuary city or not. >> brian: i saw that when a lot of people from the neighborhood showed up and wanted to vote, they would not hear it or approach it. how many -- what specifically has affected your lives? besides seeing people on the streets, how have people of chicago suffered? >> first of all, i was stopping

10,000, how do we absorb 67,000? >> a bill will make it harder for someone under 16 to get on social media. if this passes in the science and ron desantis signs it. they are leaders in all of this throughout our country. parents are saying thank goodness, you talked to fiona mcfarland, one of the backers of the bill. we are saying social media is a harmful product, we have compelling state interest to keep kids safe. any social media platform that has addictive design content or appalling design content that can track us, knows what we're clicking on and serves different content based on that, that is how we define social media companies, features that are harmful to teens and where we
