you? >> i honestly think i'm in a state of shock and disbelief. reality won't sit in until we travel to go receive her remains, that is the time i'm not looking forward to. i'm dreading it. right now i'm in a state of disbelief. >> carley: so understandable. shawn, we see you holding a picture of your baby girl. we know her face and know she wanted to serve our country. one of the best among us. tell us about her, tell us about your daughter? >> she was the life of the party. she enjoyed life. she was very competitive. she was goal-oriented and loved the service and serving our country. i miss her right now.

this morning has been tough for me. >> steve: absolutely. shawn, do you think she joined army reserve because her dad was a marine? >> well, my father was in the army, her older brother was navy, uncle innive nay and cousin in air force. we are a family that has served, i don't know where the influence actually came from, she enjoyed her time in the service. >> brian: pretty amazing and doubling sad, her best friend breonna alexsondria moffett also lost her life. is that right? >> that is correct. she made a lot of friends during her time in the military, even people she went through basic training with and ait, she kept in contact with those people.

breonna alexsondria moffett was one of the ones she grew a close relationship with. she would call me on the phone or facetime me, breonna, was nearby participating in the conversation. >> carley: breonna just turned 23 nine days before she died. you said your daughter called home almost everyday. did she ever give any sense of imminent danger? >> no, ma'am, not since she has been in jordan. she mentioned one incident in kuwait about a drone being spotted and they were put on lockdown, that is only incident she mentioned. >> steve: with your daughter

calling home everyday, i am sure you got details. what was her unit doing over there? >> we did not get much detail. what she was doing was not classified, but they were informed not to discuss. we didn't talk about that. we talked about her future and what we would do when she got home. >> brian: i can imagine. if i can ask you talking about the operation in particular, they say what happened incoming dr drone, american incoming drone got cross signalled with an enemy drone coming in. you probably being in the military might understand more than us about circumstances. what do they tell you? >> at this point, the army is doing a thorough investigation. we have not got much

information. they will not release any information they are not sure is correct. i don't care how much pressure i put on them, they are going to make sure they get it right and inform the parents and we deserve that instead of a knee-jerk reaction or something to appease us for the moment. >> brian: was she asleep? did they explain that to you? >> they did not give us any details on that effect. only thing the officers told us kennedy sanders was deceased and she was in tower 22 killed by unmanned aircraft, drone, i can't remember the words he used, that is only details. >> carley: you both deserve answers and hope you get them soon. this attack did not come without

warning, there were 160 similar attacks. what do you think about that? could this have been prevented? >> me having prior experience, 160 successful avoidance of an incidence, that is great percentage, it only takes one mishap to cost life. my daughter chose to serve her country and her sacrifice, she chose to serve the country and give us freedom, be part of us getting freedom and stuff happens and it is hard for parents to endure, that is why i honor her and believe she is a hero. >> carley: she is a hero, yes.

>> steve: absolutely. i don't know which of you would prefer to speak about this, you know, americans hearts of broken three brave servicemembers perished in this and now talking about how the united states will respond and all the things in the press today, do we hit iran, their proxies, hit them financially. how would you like the united states to respond? >> as a grieving parent, i would not want to see any other parent go through what we're going through right now. but given the circumstances our child and the others who lost their lives are considered heroes in this situation. however, the president or united states decides to respond, it
