laura ingraham. this is "the ingraham angle," thank you for joining me. in moments my exclusive interview with the man of the moment, speaker mike johnson who says the border deal is dead on arrival in the house. first no, no, hell no is the focus of tonight's angle. we knew it was released after being kept -- we didn't realize how bad. just last week he was assuring critics what was leaked were internet rumors including the bill would permit 500 migrants a day into the country and lankford said this. >> if you get to 5000 and we've been there every single day
1:02 am
except seven, it completely closes the border down. given the damage and strain biden has inflicted on you in america, we shouldn't allow one migrant in, let alone 5000 encounters a day, it's a joke. the border is never closed, even if you think mayorkas could ever be trusted. don't take my word for it, that is what senator chris murphy said. the president is border patrol retain broad discretionary power to wave people in, including
1:03 am
thousands at a time and unaccompanied minors don't count toward that threshold number. if lankford had not been elected in 2022, he never would be championing it. from red state and lawyers at america first legal. all migrant families must be released from custody. second, only single individuals can be deported. third emergency powers don't affect ports of entry that must allow a minimum of 1400 migrants per day. there are 30 ports of entries, 42,000 migrants per month. the emergency can be ignored if the president decides it is not in our national interest.
1:04 am
the biden team can opt out on all limits on numbers. mayorkas has unilateral authority that grant final asylum for individuals, which equals rapid path. asylum is a path to citizenship and broad exception to emergency provisions that everyone is touting today based on the totality of circumstances test that is broad enough to drive a truck through. anyone who claims fear of prosecution or torture is not deported. instead, they go through an arduous administrative process. they will be tied up in that for a while and the biden rule allows far left officers not immigration judgeings, to rule on individual asylum claims and
1:05 am
gives them a 15% raise, as well. and includes $1.4 billion for providing shelter and immigration services, $36 million for lawyers for immigrants. in other words, this is a grab bag of goodies for the open border caucus. every provision that sounds like enforcement, there is way around it during implementation thchl is a real compromise, i heard this all day long from the uniy uniparty. they get 60 million for ukraine, everything they wanted, but conservatives, they get a bill that gives them nothing they
1:06 am
wanted on the border and would tie president trump's hands if he wins in november. all you need to know is that pro-amnesty senator chris murph sethrilled about this legislation and reassures the left emergency power to shut border down is weak and has important checks on the power and can only be used in a certain number number of days. the ports must process a minimum of 1400 claims per day. let that sink in again. a minimum of 1400 per day at 30 ports of entry. people say, maybe lankford and schumer don't know what is in the bill or mcconnell doesn't know. they know exactly what they are doing here.
1:07 am
they thought they could drop the texas phony bill on sunday and as you have seen today, start media blitz before they force a vote on wednesday and they thought it would help biden and hurt trump, shared goal of 90% of the uniparty. >> we have never worked so hard on legislation as we did on this. we both realize how important passage of this legislation is. >> laura: wait a second, schumer now understands gravity of the situation. where has he been? sounds like he's calling the border a crisis after democrats attacked us for calling it a crisis. in late 2022, after millions flooded america, schumer was not
1:08 am
using the word crisis and did not sound upset about border crossers, for schumer, it was the opposite. >> we have a population not reproducing with the same level it used to, only way to have a great future is if we welcome and embrace immigrants, ultimate goal is to help dreamers and get a fath for citizenship for the undocumented here. >> laura: path to citizenship is the goal, and the key they want the votes. weasel words, immigrants or however many there are here. there can never be enough migrants to make the uni pparty happy. the house bill is tough and clear on enforcement.
1:09 am
so the bad faith on part of the bill's republican supporters is so egregious none of them should work in politics again. this bill does not make the border secure and massively increases number of visas for families of illegals and current visa holders. we need more foreign workers when wages are not keeping up with high costs and more companies announcing layoffs. if you want to understand why donald trump is the force in american politics, remember what you see play out in the senate now is what he warned about, damage inflicted when a bipartisan establishment is unchecked and allowed a free hand to plot against the wishes
