>> we are in the neighborhood called beverly glen here in los angeles. the terrain is steep and the ground is soaked. all around us you can hear the sound of water running. you can see it still running down this very steep street after this landslide took out this home. 307 landslides have been reported here in los angeles alone. five houses have had to be red tagged, seven houses yellow tagged in a local state of emergency has been declared. this is a statewide emergency. 8 counties are current little under states of emergency in central and in southern california. and then hundreds of thousands of customers have been without power. currently just under 200,000 customers up in northern california have the lights off. power crews trying to get the lights back on. but in northern california, that's where we have seen three deaths confirmed. all of those deaths due to trees either falling on homes or falling on people, unfortunately. now, down here in southern california there has been some

good news. evacuation orders have been lifted in ventura and santa barbara counties. santa barbara airport now we opened after closing down the runways, but the rain is expected to continue throughout the rest of the day and the big concern right now additional mud slides because the ground is so saturated with water. guys? >> ainsley: max, when you buy a house out there, do you have to consider this? do you have to make sure that the ground you are buying it on is -- do inspectors? what do you do? >> yeah, absolutely. well, there are are environment engineers determine if the soil is safe. but, you know. so highest rent areas here in larntion right, beverly hills. you look at the holiday hills. those hollywood hills. those are the people want to live because. >> views but those are the hills that pose risk. >> ainsley: whole house is gone. you work so halder for a house. >> steve: that's what happens when you get a foot of rain.

afar, carley. update. sources telling fox news several of the illegal immigrants suspected of being involved in the mob beating two saturdays ago have been appre apprehendedn phoenix. >> steve: madeline rivera joins us on developing story. the big question is how did they wind up in phoenix, madeline. >> good morning, steve. according to police sources they took a bus and went out west. so ice and homeland security investigations, according to ice sources say they made these arrests at a greyhound bus station in phoenix. identities of the suspects have not yet been released and we are waiting to get more details which migrants they arrested. we are told they are suspected of being involved in this beating of two nypd officers in a shelter outside times square. recap of the quick suspects arrested and charged. only one was held on cash bail. police sources then told us some of those who were released skipped town to head west again like i mentioned to you, steve. new york governor kathy hochul

is calling for the attackers to be jailed and deported. >> the bail laws allow for people involved in the physical assault of a police officer to be charged as a bail eligible offense meaning right now they should be sitting in rikers. >> manhattan district attorney alvin bragg facing a lot of back backlash. the head the new york city police officers' union says our criminal system is upside down. what message does it send to every new york city police officer who is on the streets of the city of new york every single day risking their lives to protect new yorkers if we're not protected. how are we going to protect the people in the neighborhoods? as aspokesperson for the d.a.'s office said they needed more time to figure out each suspect's role. today bragg is expected to present evidence in the case to a grand jury. bragg also says they are still looking for some of the worse attackers so we could potentially see more arrests in the coming days or weeks. steve, lawrence, brian and ainsley back to you. >> brian: thank you so much,

cleans out your bank. and once they clean out the victim, they send the phones to texas or to florida. or they send to venezuela or columbia. essentially stolen hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of stuff. untold thousands. stolen out of people's bank accounts. >> brian: great detail. i was watching john miller on friday and talking about thugs beating up cops. john miller former police commissioner and abc anchor and now a cnn contributor. on the set and describing what's going on with these guys. he said yeah, well they steal in new york and go to florida and sell it. why don't they steal in florida? oh, bowers they put you in jail in florida. he didn't realize that he just outed the political -- the law enforcement in new york city. this lenient on crime gets you nowhere except for victimize millions of people. >> ainsley: we don't need a bill. just enforce of the laws already on the book. >> brian: we used to do that.

party. look at the turnout. did he not have a turnout in south carolina virtually unopposed. williamson won't get close. minimum 15% in order to get any delegates at all. keep an eye on that. also, what's the difference with republicans? they switched from a caucus to a primary. a lot of people aren't buying into it. the state switched but the party didn't. trump says i'm doing the caucus on thursday. and the republicans said we are opposed to this. so we are not going to have any delegation available. nikki haley says i'm not going to do the caucus. i'm going to do the primary. here's the thing though. she does the primary but nothing at stake because she gets zero delegates even if she wins. now what the trump people are doing hey, i'm going to prep everybody who supports donald trump none of these candidates an option. if this does better than nikki haley then she does not get that victory she sought after. the other thing is, it's a valuable state. trump barely lost it. any republican has to win it, you would think. yet she has not campaigned there i find that somewhat odd although she is making her stand in south carolina. so, this is what is happening on

>> steve: listen to this. we have got a fox weather alert. three people dead after atmospheric river as never calling has been drinching the west coast. the storm dumped nearly a foot of rain in some parts of l.a. county, and you are looking at the san fernando valley right there. the city of l.a. declared local emergency with 300 mud slides reported. let's check in with senior meteorologist janice dean for our fox weather forecast. janice, look at those numbers. they don't get that amount of rain in some years. >> janice: yeah, absolutely. you know, this is really incredible. historic for this region. close a foot of rain. you mentioned around the santa monica mountains in the los

angeles area. and today we are getting more rain in the forecast. maybe not as concentrated but on and off showers as we head into wednesday for parts of southern california and moving a little bit more southward towards the san diego area. so, that region is going to be on high alert for flooding and then the mountains could receive over a foot or more of snow. and that's going to cause some avalanche concerns. so there is the rain still to come through wednesday. again, south of los angeles, in towards the san diego area and in towards palm springs. so flood alerts continue. we have flood warnings for the los angeles area. and then flood watches for parts of southern california in towards central california and even extending into arizona. there is your forecast today. the biggest story will be the ongoing rain for southern california spreading in towards the rockies. the rest of the country above average. and some cases 20 to 30 degrees above where we should be this time of year. so fox weather.com for all of your latest details. steve, back to you. >> steve: if it was colder it
