i said yesterday, i'm okay if this tradition goes away completely. president trump didn't do it . it was like the affair interview in his mind. biden gets very fair interviews. in fact, reporters help him out by saying, it's hamas, or it's hamas who we're talking about? i get that. i was just telling greg, i do that in school all the time. i would have sympathy for people who couldn't come up with the answer, so i would whisper it, try to help them. you shouldn't do that for our president of the united states doing an interview, especially when 23% of people in the nbc poll said that biden has the necessary physical and mental strength to be president. 23%. i understand also that every interview is a risk opportunity. so if there's high risk, but there's also really high reward, if you do it well. so imagine if he came out, he did the three-minute interview, as jesse was saying it, he nails

it. all the people worried that he doesn't have the mental strength and capacity can maybe put that aside and think about the issues. the but i think the white house has calculated that the risk is so great that he won't be able to nail it, and it could even be disastrous that it would irreparable harm. if they want to get him re-elected, they'll keep him off big interviews like that. >> judge jeanine: jesse, we heard they have a saran wrap approach, keep him wrapped up, not let him out, but for the past couple weeks they've been saying, "joe will come out, joe will come out." but the latest mitterrand and hamas gaffes, have they gone a different direction? >> judge jeanine: the media is there to help democrats, not hide democrats. this is a business. donald trump made the careers of dozens of people in the press.

joe biden is destroying the press. have you seen all of these companies laying off thousands of media people? thousands of them don't have jobs anymore. when you had trump as president, you had action, you had access, you had excitability. people got shows on cable, wrote books, became millionaires. that's because trump engaged. it's no fun to campaign when the president doesn't campaign. these people have seen real campaigns. clinton, bush, obama, trump. some of the most vigorous and active bully pulpit exploiters there ever was, and then a guy at a slumber part. 2020, they're not going to do that again. they're not going to hide him when there's no covid. the media is torn a little bit. you see two business reporters saying what's this guy doing? and you're also going to see cbs

strike back. cbs isn't going to be happy that the sitting president just dissed them on super bowl sunday. they're going to start talking about this. they need somebody to go on their shows. you can't have a president who's a democrat, and all the democrat anchors have no one to talk to. this is a problem. you'll see it start shifting pretty soon. it can't go on much more like this. >> judge jeanine: you know, if the president can't handle an interview during the super bowl, to be played during a super bowl, what do you think he's saying or speaking to when he's talking to jinping or putin? >> i think that's a good question. but really to me this is such a missed opportunity, because, again, this is the super bowl. ideally you have a relationship between the president, the commander in chief, and the american people, voters. this is an opportunity to connect with a couple hundred million people in this

country. you know, he either doesn't feel connected or feels that football fans are maga/trump supporters. i don't know what it is. it's an incredibly missed opportunity to be able to speak to the american people. i think it is a sign that his handlers don't trust him, and they will look to the basement strategy that he used last time, because they don't want him to be held to account for his failures to the american people, whether it's border security, rampant crime, inflation, increasing cost of living. these are the issues that he needs to be confronted on, and i think they're afraid, afraid to put him in the spotlight. >> judge jeanine: all right. did cbs make a mistake in not entertaining trump's decision or request? >> greg: oh, yeah. this interview is perfect for joe, because it's a no-brainer. we showed a montage of all of his gibberish. those are not gaffes, because gaffes suggest they're rare and

unusual. what's rare and unusual is when he makes sense. it's funny, when you mention gaffe, that's when you can understand what joe is saying. what kind of questions do they think are going to trip him up? what's your name? his favorite super bowl snack? are they worried he's going to say francois mitterrand? jill could be next to him, a medical professional, right? literally he has to be conscious for three minutes. surely there's a drug for that. call hunter. he has something lying around. maybe the white house still has that baggy of coke in the evidence room. who knows. it's weird. joe not doing the super bowl interview sends a horrible message that's far worse than if he did it and screwed up, because it's saying i can't do it. it's like ducking an interview with a magic eight ball. imagine the only way to sell a product is by hiding it from the public, you know.

only had a hammer to fight back. they also threw a recycling bin at the crook. the suspect was later arrested. it's the latest video to come out of crime-ravaged oakland, so bad that governor gavin newsom is being forced to take action, deploying 120 more california highway patrol officers in oakland to have -- in an effort to crack down on crime. it only took major businesses to flee like that in-n-out burger shutting down as well as big companies like blue shield and hydrox, warning companies to take security or take other actions to keep workers safe. is the governor only taking action to save his favorite burger joint? >> i come into your state. >> yes, sir. >> first thing i love to do, i go straight to in and out of burger. one of the greatest things of your state. >> you're right about in-n-out burger. that's a great to end. >> dana: he wants to send the highway patrol to restore a sense of safety. what about actual safety?

>> greg: appearances only matter. look at this. look at him. somebody here on this table called this first, that to get any action done, you may have to get the politician to feel the pain of their own policies intemittly. he got it right into the gut. because i predicted, in-n-out burger would be the catalyst, because it's his family's favorite restaurant. when it closed, that was a direct shot at him. you can bs the public, but not your kids, wishing he had gotten recalled because they could have their burger. the intensity of pain that a public endures is the time it takes the democrats to start acting like republicans. the goal for us is to speed that up. get the party of routine to come to their -- ruin to come to their senses, because the democratic party for some reason lately is addicted to chaos. we have to keep doing interventions, right? like an addict, the left has to hit rock bottom.

the problem is they're taking everybody with them. >> dana: well, you know, i'm happy for there to be more highway patrol, but, judge, if they don't change the prosecution record, you know, he could get behind that repeal effort that i mentioned to rerepeal the prop, the governor could put fire into that instead of hiring officers. >> judge jeanine: yes, he could do that. i want to go back to the beginning of this. with gavin newsom, it's always him. the week before, it was about target, he wanted the manager called immediately when she said it was all gavin newsom's fault, describing the theft going on. now he sends 120 california highway patrol. at first i thought that was strange. then i found out that with research, the state police have apparently merged with highway patrol in california, which is why they're involved in this. violent crime is going down in

some areas, not down significantly, i mean oakland is through the roof. you've got it to the point where it's a third world country, where companies are telling people don't go out to get lunch, don't eat lunch, clorox and kaiser permanente are saying when you get here, we'll call security, we'll walk out with you. this is the united states of america. this guy thinks he should be a candidate for president. i mean, this is absurd. they don't take the appropriate action that you talk about, dana, with respect to law enforcement and bail and police making arrests. they're going to live with this. this is his signature state. they defunded police in 2021. they also made a decision to get rid of all of these violence prevention programs, where kid had opportunities to get involved in after-school programs, not get involved in gangs. that's all at his feet. >> dana: tulsi, i always feel, i know all of us do, but i immediately think about the

worker, getting an hourly wage, not protected, trying to protect themselves with a hammer. >> tulsi: exactly. they know firsthand that people like gavin newsom and joe biden and his administration, they don't actually care about the pain and the struggles and hardship that people in these communities are going through, just trying to survive and get to work and home safely at the end of the day. so the realization is not, like, most, crime is really bad, let's do something about it. the pain is coming from the threat to their power. they're seeing that the american people are very concerned about rampant crime in their communities. they're very concerned about the open borders and the immigration crisis and are recognizing this will have a big impact in the outcome of this election. it's an election year. gavin newsom, joe biden, all these other people in cities that have not cared about this stuff until now are realizing, okay, this is going to drive voters. let's pretend like we care, start doing something about it in the hope that the american people are stupid enough to fall for it. they think very little of us. we're not stupid. we're paying attention.
