>> laura: california has come up with a new way to advance its campaign to destroy the nuclear family. the plan is to have taxpayers fund something called unicorn homes. joining us now with all the details is fox news national correspondent bill melugin. bill, what are these unicorn homes and who are they for? >> laura, in a nutshell, it's essentially a pilot program that gives transitional housing to 18 to 24-year-olds who say they have had to leave their own homes because they have been

rejected by their own families for being gay or transgender. this so-called unicorn homes proposal was first unveiled today and it would create a state pilot program across five california counties to deliver housing, which would be run and managed by lgbtq groups. the model of this legislation is the unicorn homes program that down in san diego county, which is a project of the north county lgbtq resource center. so they run a network of these unicorn home hosts for teenagers as young as 14. they offer them services like breast binding and changing their names and genders on legal documents. this legislation is called ab 2007 its author is san diego area democratic assembly woman tasha borner. it says in part quote the bill would required the community based organization to place eligible youth with volunteer host families meet criteria result of a background check and

clothes. he says it was all hidden from him. he found out about the transition by accident. he received a letter from the school addressed to the parents of quote ruby rose hannon. and what was inside stunned him. matthew had been socially transitioned and only went by female pronouns while he was at school. now, when matthew was around 4 or 5 years old hannon says a gender therapist suggested that he come back when he turned 9,to start puberty blockers. that was in 2020. dennis hannon joins me now exclusively. dennis, this is a complete nightmare most parents listening to this can't believe this is the united states of america. where do things stand? >> well, thank you, laura, for having me on your program and allowing me to share this story. as it stands right now, i have visitation with my son. i see him a few times a week, and every other weekend. i have no medical decision-making authority whatsoever. i have no say in any medical providers or medical decisions.

having read "the daily mail" story the number of lies in that story is appalling. it's the child that is important here. dennis, your ex-wife says she is looking out for the best interest of your 9-year-old. how do you respond? >> i don't even know what to say to that. there's two sides to every story, but there is one truth. the facts don't lie. the truth will always prevail. that's why i'm coming forward here. because i hope that this story and this experience helps other parents come forward so that they can share their experiences because i know i'm not alone. >> laura: dennis, this is new york, this is one of the reasons people are leaving these liberal enclaves a lot of people are afraid this could happen to them. and you think it can't happen to you, but, it can happen. i mean, did your son say that he was a girl from a young age or did someone have that conversation with him? you know, a lot of people are asking that tonight, too.
